I know they are too busy and focused on expanding the comic and TV universes to start another whole OTHER universe up but I’d love to see a show/comic/book created that took place in another universe and the only event that diverges it into its own universe from the main one was it was a timeline where Shane kills Rick.
They could tell the story completely differently or even better have them go to the same places through coincidences or the places just being near and retell the stories with different events ands casualties. We could see how Shane leads the group and is maybe more cold hearted and more aggressive towards threats and maybe even seeing him minimize the casualties the group experienced under ricks lead.
It would be a cool way of also allowing the fans to see characters they miss in the comics like Glenn or Andrea or characters lost all the way back at the prison could even live like Lori because Shane is aggressive enough and eliminates the threat before it comes on his home base. We could see how he handles the war with Negan and the whisperers and we could even see characters we still have alive in the main continuity die due to his actions as leader. Maybe something leads to Maggie dying in All out War and Glenn becomes this reckless yet effective killing machine to avenge his wife and instead of imprisoning Negan we could see Shane just shoot him point blank instead.
This would probably only work as a book as making a new show would be too expensive and hell getting old actors to come back after dying and probably would also use up too many resources to be a comic too but I think it could be so cool with the right ideas
