Okay Gomorrah is an Italian crime drama television series created by Roberto Saviano.
It is based on Saviano's book of the same name.
The title of the show is a play on the name of the Neapolitan crime syndicate, Camorra.
The show is largely filmed in Italy and is spoken in Italian.
It is by the far the most realistic TV Series about life in the Mafia.
The characterization, pacing, atmosphere, acting, directing, and writing is absolutely amazing.
Unlike many other series of this nature such as the Sopranos this isn't Hollywood's version of the Mafia, this is the real deal.
Its brutal, dark and violent. There are no heroes here because there isn't any in real life.
Yet because of the writing and acting is of such high quality you actually do feel and care for the characters, even those who have committed terrible horrible crimes.
The acting and writing is beautifully done.
For those who are put off by the use of sub titles, please don't be and try this, you will not be disappointed.
Gomorrah is my own opinion is the best TV Series every about the Mafia.
