I want to take this time to appreciate Rodrik Cassel, the type of supporting character I really want to read more on.
I'm on my 3rd attempt of watching Game of Thrones and am seriously enjoying it now with my newfound respect for the fantasy genre than I used to by only having a mere curiosity of the show.
The actor portraying Rodrik seems to have been the perfect cast. GOT is unique because no two characters are alike, and what won me over with Rodrik is his ability to deal with matters of war like a embedded warrior while serviing the House of Stark with a warm smile.
The summation of what I admire about him is the beheading scene by Theon Greyjoy in S2; he's arrested after having been captured but killed 2 of Theon's men, he's aware of the consequences but spits in Theon's face as if he deserved it, and he spoke to a crying Bran before the execution with such comfort,
"Hush now lad, I'm off to see your father."
