There are many scenes that I find incredibly disappointing and poorly done because I prefer the book version so much more. At the same time, I've watched movies without reading the books first, loved them, then had the book fans tell me the movies are awful. So I'm wondering what someone who only watches the show thinks of these moments for a different perspective. Do you like the scenes? Is there anything you'd change about them? If so, what? I don't think these will be in chronological order:
- Arya/Waif chase scene
- Arya's Faceless Men training overall
- Dany being rescued by Drogon in the fighting pits
- Jaime and Tyrion parting ways
- The Sand Snakes killing the royal family in Dorne
- The kingsmoot on the Iron Islands
- Bran meeting the 3 eyed crow
- Dany in the House of the Undying
- The Umbers siding with the Boltons for the Battle of the Bastards
- The way Greywind and Summer died pitifully
- Jon beheading Janos Slynt
- Barristan's death where he and Grey Worm fought weakly
- Little Finger killing Lysa Arryn
- Loras and Renly's scenes together
I'd also love to hear opinions of characters who were characterized differently in the books. Do you like them? What do you consider their defining traits?: 1. The Mountain 2. Euron Greyjoy 3. Tyrion 4. Jaime 5. Ellaria Sand 6. Doran Martell 7. The Blackfish 8. Mance 9. Jorah 10. Daario 11. LORAS (can't begin to express my rage) 12. Renly 13. "Yara" Greyjoy 14. All the Sand Snakes 15. Brienne 16. Cersei 17. And of course, Jon Snow
Whew, you really realize how many characters are in the books when you list 17 with major book-show changes and it's a tiny percentage of them.
