[MAIN SPOILERS] I've noticed a trend...

This may be common knowledge, but it's something I just discovered. Throughout all of the ASOIAF books so far, the only recurring POV character who has truly died is Ned Stark. Taking into account Catelyn's transformation into Lady Stoneheart, every other POV character has survived all five books, although characters around them who were never given the POV treatment have died frequently. This list includes Bran, Catelyn, Daenerys, Jon, Arya, Tyrion, Sansa, Davos, Theon, Jaime, Samwell, Cersei, Brienne and Melisandre.

I feel like George R.R. Martin did this to emphasize the importance of Ned Stark's death. His death set off a wild chain of events that has shaped the story throughout ASOIAF, and therefore he is the only POV character whose death is as important as the lives and activities of all of the other POV characters.

My question for you guys: Do you think that this trend will continue until the epic finale of the series? It seems fitting to have Ned continue to be the sole POV death until the books are coming to a close (and after that, anything could happen). I can't see any of the characters in that list being killed off before the end of the series because their stories all seem to be building toward something greater. I think it's more likely that they will all survive until the very end, at which point all of their stories will intertwine in the payoff readers have been waiting years for. So, what do you guys think?
