Hello folks, I got into game of thrones like 6 years ago after binging the whole first season. Since that was all there was at the time I bought up all the books and burned through those and loved them. I then watched the show religiously all the way through the first half of season four.
I eventually went back and finished that season and about three episodes of season five. For whatever reason I then kind of just stopped watching. There was no real reason I just sort of did.
Now, I've been itching to get back into it, but I'm a little hesitant. It's been long enough now that I have bits and pieces of major spoilers but not enough that id say it's not worth seeing for that reason alone.
What worries me is that I can tell people aren't as into it, and I've heard people voice some reservations about where the show has gone and how it is handling some characters since it's broken off from the books. Are these concerns founded? Is the general consensus that the show is slipping? I just don't have as much time to watch shows anymore so I don't want to get into it again just to be disappointed...
Tldr: read all books, fell a season and a half behind and am concerned about supposed drop in quality. Is it worth catching up again with limited tv Time?
