Did anyone notice how when Walt is being put out for his surgery he says, "this stuff is pretty great." He's obviously referring to the IV Morphine, which is essentially the same high that Jesse and Jane are getting when they IV Heroin, which Walt is absolutely disgusted by. I think the show did this on purpose. Maybe if Walt was younger and had the chance to experience that feeling on a regular basis maybe he would have been a drug user too. I think it kind of shows it's not necessarily morally bad to enjoy drugs and then become addicted to them.
