Who else would be interested in a miniseries adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo?

HBO or Netflix, if you're reading this, please take note.

TCoMC is generally considered one of the greatest books ever written. It's a timeless classic that has so many sub plots, complex themes, twists, and interesting patterns of character development that it has multiple layers of intrigue for a wide ranging audience.

I recommend it all the time, but at 464,000 words for the unabridged version (compared to 191,000 for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows or 293,000 for A Song of Ice and Fire) it's a significant time investment.

The 2002 movie adaptation was good, don't get me wrong, but it's impossible to tell the real story in such a short window of time. The end product ended up being trimmed of so much important content that it just didn't do the book justice.

Retelling the show as a mini series in the tone of Game of Thrones would make my life complete.

Thoughts?

Tl;dr: The Count of Monte Cristo is an amazing book, but it's super long and way too detailed to effectively pack into a movie. A miniseries, however, would be perfect.
