Gus has put so much work into that lab. It almost seems like more trouble than it’s worth with Lalo breathing down Gus’s neck and the German engineers being paid off for their secrecy, as well as having to accommodate them and deal with Werner Ziiiieeeegler running off. The whole project even got put on hold.
This really adds to the scene in Breaking Bad where Gus spares Walt and Jesse and kills Victor. You really get to see how much of a piss off it is for Gus and how he knows Walt is right.
