Something that I noticed in my first watch through of GOT, and notice each time (I've watched it through about 5 times), is Tyrion dropping his lannister accent when Catelyn is taking him to her sister in season 1. Once the hill tribes start attacking the group they are in, he says "untie me. If I die, then whats the point" except he doesn't use his regular "proper" English accent, and uses a much harsher common accent.
I've been trying to Google why he does this and I've found nothing, and was wondering if anyone here noticed and knows why?
The first time I thought maybe he was just putting on a posh act, pretending to be high and mighty but that was just a facade. Nothing obviously came of that theory, his normal accent IS the posh one, and he never drops it for the rest of the show
