[NO SPOILERS] Why is the language spoken in Westeros called "common tongue" instead of Westerosian/Andalian?

I love GRRM’s worldbuilding, but I always thought that calling the language "common" feels very unnatural and weird. If you look at the real world there are many languages that are spoken in several countries or on a large territory, but even if e.g. Latin was sort of a common tongue of all Roman provinces, but no one has ever thought of calling it "common" and instead it was just named Latin because it was the language of the tribe of Latins/Latians who conquered those lands. Using the same logic the language of Westeros should be called something like Andalian or Andalish cause it was the Andals who first conquered those lands and imposed their language on all the other tribes simillar to how the Anglosaxons imposed English to Scots, Welsh and Irish to a large extent. But I have never ever heard of people anywhere in history making their language common even if it was the language spoken by all.
