[SPOILERS] Why do people always defend Edmure and criticize Robb?

Robb heard about Stafford Lannister forming another Lannister host in Oxcross. Sitting idle will allow that host become a big threat eventually. So he tells Edmure to just "Hold Riverrun" in case Renly's big army is actually defeated and they need another long term plan as fail-safe.

He takes his cavalry, bypasses golden tooth through warging and achieves a big victory at Oxcross. And THEN makes the plan of tricking Tywin into coming into Westerlands. The strategy becomes even better when Brynden's spies find a really good spot on the gold road where they can ambush Tywin himself.

Tywin falls for the trick and marches west. Now people speculate that Tywin was not going after Robb but instead going to-

•Seige Riverrun: I highly doubt it. Tywin would have to repeat Jaime and split his army into 3 parts because of Riverrun's shape. And this time the Rivermen aren't pinned down, and top of that, the northern infantry is also present. •Pillage Riverlands: Again, he would be exposing himself and to pillage he would need to spread his army thin. He doesn't have nearly as many men as he had before and this time he would not be taking Rivermen by surprise, and Northmen are there as well.

Edmure's first priority should always have been to make Tywin leave riverlands. When he was leaving, Edmure, instead of holding the castle as he was told to, went off and fought a battle with Tywin and stopped his advance. He also took away the northern garrison in the Twins and gave them to Roose Bolton.

For people who think that Robb was the incapable one and the Edmure the real hero, Edmure had gotten himself captured by Jaime and was freed by Robb who also lifted the seige off his home and stopped Tywin from dominating his lands.
