Closing of The Spoiling Dead Fans forum

Just got the mail below:

Dear xxxxxx,

It's with sadness and a new sense of purpose that I must announce the closing of The Spoiling Dead Fans forum at midnight on May 31, 2020. The staff and I have enjoyed going through the learning process and phases of fandom with each and every one of the members. We will cherish the ups and downs and realize we all learned a lot from these past five-and-a-half years. We hope you have too.

I want to assure you that your information will remain protected in the same encrypted, secure database we have always used. All access to the database will be disabled upon close and no information is being harvested or sold to any third party. TSDF will still live on as an archive, allowing new fans to come and discover episode spoilers, reviews, character and cast discussions. Staff has been working behind the scenes for the past few weeks deleting "junk" posts, fixing and removing broken links and beginning the clean up. Many members have chosen to spend a lot of time on the forum over the past years and that includes making statements that they may not otherwise want to share with the world. Over the next month, please review your post history and if there is anything you find that you feel uncomfortable being viewed in the future, please contact any staff member to have it removed. In most cases the requests will be honored; however, removing entire threads or account posting history would disrupt the flow of discussion and we want new visitors to be able to follow the threads.

The member roster on the Home page will no longer be visible and nobody will be able to click on your profile to see your details or leave a comment on your wall. Shippers' World and the Alexandria Safe Zone will also be hidden. New registrations have now been disabled. If you are a recurring donor, please be sure to go into PayPal and cancel your upcoming donations. All funds remaining will be used to continue to pay monthly hosting fees, dDos protection and domain renewals until the funds run out.

Thank you for joining me on this journey to creating something great and worthwhile. There has never been a fandom like TWD's fandom and our little home on the interwebz is special.
