Going into season 8 it appears we have two sets of champions left whether they know this or not. Team Fire π₯ ππ»ππ»ππ» Davos Jon Red Woman Daenerys Mormount Tyrion Dondarrion Sandor And anyone who follows the Dragon Queen are unwittingly or knowingly on team Burn Everyone Alive. Team Death π ππ»ππ»ππ» Arya Bran Sansa Brienne Pod The North The Wildlings And anyone who follows the North are unwittingly or knowingly on team keep the em’ dead.
The red priestesses appear to be leading everyone down a campaign of raising the dead to life by burning others alive or in other words stealing deaths from the many faced god. Obviously they can’t be good. Anyone following the lord of Light is helping them succeed.
The faceless men appear to be sending anyone; man, woman or child to the many faced god aka death. Their motives appear to be to keep the natural order of things. “All men must die” and presumably stay TF dead.
What if the entire show ends with the whole war and whoever side all the different leagues of champions are on is really a grudge match between the Gods? The many faced god keeps getting his deaths stolen from him every time someone is raised from the dead. R’hllor wants to steal death from one and give life to another.
The wildcards are Cersei and Varys
These are just some quick thoughts about what’s going to happen ππ»ππ»ππ»
Jon will die again and probably by Arya’s dagger. It probably will be a mercy kill. Jon already said to the red woman not to bring him back again and at this point it’s unclear if she, Davos or any of the characters actually brought him back or if he’s the 13th commander of lore. We haven’t seen a single scene depicting Arya’s reaction to the army of the dead and her view of Jon being raised from the dead. We know she witnessed Dondarrions last resurrection when she watched the trial by combat between Beric and the Hound. She says to Beric afterwards very straight forward that Death is her one true God.
Sansa may end up be the Queen of Westeros after Cersei is killed in some epic death scene. Two thoughts on this. Either poetically by Jaimie or viciously by Arya.
Daenerys will probably die saving Jon.
Tyrion knows more than he’s letting on. The way he looks at her cabin is very telling. Not to mention he and Varys have already had more than one discussion about undermining Daenerys independence and how they are actively seeking to control her.
I think Bran knows that Arya has some larger end game role. He hands her the dagger with a strange look on his face. He can’t see the future but we know he can see the past. Everything that’s happened before is happening again.
Where the Night King may actually be Bran. Arya may be Death incarnate. Who will defeat who?
Anyway these are just some random thoughts π
