"Do you feel doomed?" (Gene watching commercials)

In the pilot episode, the last commercial Gene watches goes "Do you feel doomed? Have opponents of freedom wrongly intimidated you? Maybe they told you you're in serious trouble and there's nothing you can do about it. I'm Saul Goodman and I'm here to tell you that they're wrong. It's never too late for justice."

I noticed it on rewatch because "Do you feel doomed?" is... a kinda odd phrasing for a commercial, which leads me to think that whole commercial was purposefully written to apply in particular to Gene, who feels doomed, intimidated, and powerless. This also informs why he might be nostalgic for "Saul" (as opposed to "Jimmy")--Saul represents power, agency, "lightning bolts shoot from my fingertips," "I'll take care of it myself," etc.
