Mr robot season 4 is currently airing and literally no one cares, how did it become so irrelevant
I am honestly saddened by it because me robot is one of those rare TV shows that has gotten better season after season, yet I genuinely didn't know that season 4 was even airing until recently. What are your guys thoughts on it's declining viewership , how does breaking bad succeed while Mr robot fails?

The Righteous Gemstones is awesome
I think because I haven't seen Vice principals yet, I was taken aback by how good Danny McBride does vulnerable and piece of shit so well. Adam Devine plays himself exactly as you'd imagine the 12 year old in a 30 year old body and Judy is just my favorite.
Basically people who only make money using a brand that it doesn't even seem like they themselves believe but utter meaningless phrases all the time.
So good! I laughed so much. I haven't seen such a good campy HBO show since the first few seasons of True Blood but this is wayyyyyyyy better since it's an actual comedy.

These two characters should’ve got more time together in season 10
Ezekiel and Jerry
Both characters seemed to have been given far less of a role so far in season 10 compared to 9, especially Jerry
It would’ve been nice if Ezekiel confessed his cancer to Jerry first considered how close they are. Would’ve been a very emotional scene.

Should I quit watching?
I just finished watching breaking bad for the first time recently so I decided to start watching Better Call Saul because I enjoyed his character in BB. I just finished the 5th episode of the 1st season and I’m finding this series kind of boring. Is it going to get any better? It took me a few episodes to get into breaking bad, but I was interested after episode 4 or 5. Is this show going to pick up or should I just quit now instead of wasting time?

[NO SPOILERS] Emilia Clarke ten second video to encourage brain aneurism survivor
[NO SPOILERS]
Hi! I am not sure if this is the best place to post for what I am going to ask, but if it isn’t I hope you can give me the best contact info. My boyfriend loves Ms. Clarke as an actress, and admires her strength deeply. This year he (David) has survived two brain aneurisms. He has carried through with nothing but strength and hope since February 2018. December 5, 2018 he will finally receive a multiple time postponed surgery to remove the tumor causing the two aneurisms, as well as near daily seizures. Surgery week has arrived, and he is terrified. So scared he won’t wake up, or that something with be wrong with his brain afterwards. It’s a long shot to ask, but he’s worth it. Talking about Ms. Clarke gave him some hope again. If she does an even ten second video saying good luck David, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read this and hope you guys can point me to some publicist contact info or something!

Is Fargo a good, high caliber drama?
I heard about the show from watching Archer (of all places) and hearing the show’s main theme, but have heard almost nothing else about the series.
I’m pretty picky about what shows I watch and like them to be high quality (Breaking Bad, GOT, Stranger Things, Westworld, Mandalorian, etc) and was wondering if it’s of the same ‘caliber.’

I never lost sympathy for Walt.
One of many, i know, but never for one moment did I stop rooting for Walt. Cranston’s acting was just masterful and flawless. I know many who he had lost by watching Jane die or poisoning Brock, but not me. He gained even more of my respect with that crushing line, “I did it for me. I liked it.” And with that sympathy, i’m glad to say that the end of his road left me content and feeling like he really won. His death had been slightly spoiled for me and I knew it was inevitable, and I anticipated a deep feeling of sadness and loss coming with it, but seeing his face of justice as ‘Baby Blue’ played and the camera zoomed out had me stunned and relieved. Yeah, I finished the show yesterday so i’m just fanboying at this point. Breaking Bad will never be topped.

Man, The End of the F***ing World is so good!
There have been a lot of news shows I've loved this year like Euphoria, Chernobyl and The Umbrella Academy. While there have been some shows like Bojack and that I've constantly kept up with, it's hard for a show to constantly make me want to come back unless it's fantastic. That is why I love The End of The F***ing World so much. Did it really need another season? No, but I'm all down for it because while I was scared for them to ruin, the show's writer continues to remind me why I loved it in the first place.
While TEFW is not the most complex or more emotional shows, it tackles subject matter as abuse, childhood trauma, feeling isolated and other problems in the eyes of two teenager who aren't complete idiots. Yeah, they don't make the best decisions but they are so realized within the show that you get why they do certain things. Alex believes he's sociopath because of his inability to feel anything or Alyssa believing herself to be a pessimistic even though really she just feels so isolated from the world around her. These two go on a weird ass road trip that really doesn't have an end because they find significance in one another.
The show is also keeps it realistic while also finding the happiness of being with someone. There is no such thing as something perfect in TFOW. Everything is imperfect from how conversations go to arguing to trying to get your feelings out because we find solace in other people's imperfections. This captures that like lightning in a bottle. That's what makes it special to me personally.
Yeah, this wasn't the most well made post, but I just finished Season 2 and I just wanted to get my feelings out about it. I really hope Netflix doesn't renew. It would ruin such a good thing.

Is Project Cobalt justified?
The military went to extremes to contain the virus. They locked up sick people and killed innocents to protect those safe zones. Than when they had failed to secure the city, they bombed LA. Those actions are somewhat understandable because they were trying to save the world and the project did have a chance to stop the spread of the virus. If they had bombed LA sooner, it might have slowed the spread a lot. On the other hand, they were mistreating and killing civilians while ignoring peoples rights.

I’m probably alone in this, but the last scene in the penultimate chapter is my favorite scene in the whole show.
He's broken. He's beaten. His son hates him. He threatened his wife over the phone so that she wouldn't get a hard time from the police. His brother in law is dead. His money, everything he worked for, is stolen or sitting uselessly in a barrel in the middle of nowhere. Everything he's worked for is for nothing. He's finally done. And then... Elliot appears on TV and publicly rubbishes his intelligence, his genius, his accomplishments. And suddenly, that pride, that ego, that ruthlessness, is back. He's Heisenberg again, one last time. The final shot of that whiskey glass as the Breaking Bad theme plays has to be the single best moment in all of television.
Sorry if I can’t explain it very well, but something about it drives me crazy.

Prediction on Michonne
I'm going to go with what I consider the obvious route, and predict that she makes it to the naval base, learns important and helpful information along with being able to take some weapons. On her trip back there's a huge storm that destroys her boat and she's stranded floating on the broken remains of the boat. Later, she's saved by the helicopter CRM folk and never makes it back home. That's just my very brief prediction, but I would like to read yours 😊

Bob Odenkirk Marathon Suggestions
Evening everyone! I've realized Bob Odenkirk is the dad who went off for a pack a smokes and instead of never seeing him again, he greeted me in everything from Wayne's World as a young man throughout SNL, the Simpsons, Bob & Dave, and now Better Call Saul, I wanted to spend a day of watching epic Bob moments.
I'm compiling a list, of course with a splash of help from IMDB.
- Better Call Sault - Alpine Shepherd Boy (2015)
- Mr. Show - Season 2, Episode 1 "Who Wants Some Ice Cream?"
- The Birthday Boys - Wet Dreams May Come (2014)
- SNL w/ Bob Saget and TLC (writer)
- The Simpsons - The Fat Blue Line (2019)
- Fargo - Morton's Fork (2014)
- Breaking Bad - Rabid Dog (2013)
- Bob's Burgers - Tinarannosaurus Wrecks (2012)
- Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories - Toes (2014)
- Girlfriend's Day (2017)
Feel free to add! Will be a good distraction from family this holiday break :)

Ever since I first watched breaking bad when it aired have I never been so engrossed in a TV series or movie. I enjoyed Better Call Saul equally as well.
I've watched other good TV series but nothing compares to Vince's vision and writing team. Knowing that Vince is done with the breaking bad / better call saul universe I am hoping that he is working on something else that captivate me.
He has to have something up is sleeve. I gotta believe he and his team are working on a new project that will blow us away.
All I need to here is that Vince is working on something. I care about nothing else in world of television and movies.

Is it a fake-out?
In the latest trailer for 10B, they show Jerry screaming and going down a hole in the cave. I don’t think Kang is dumb enough to let that be shown, but there’s always a chance they’re showing it to us as reverse psychology. Like, “he can’t die because they just showed him ‘dying’ because it wouldn’t make sense”.
Thoughts? Is Jerry going to be the one Carol indirectly kills? Or do you think someone will step in to save Jerry and due in his place? If so, who? I’m honestly thinking it will be Kelly because the whole going-deaf thing has been highlighted too much for them not to have it get her killed. And a confined space like a cave seems like a great place to take advantage of her inexperience with deaf-ness.

Jesse's character arc was really interesting the first couple episodes after he got out of rehab/therapy when jane died
His deamenor and whole sense of self just did a 360 and he turned into a calm collected guy that didnt really seem problamatic it threw me off when i watched it the first time because he was like a completley different person but in the next mid episodes of season 3 he kinda reverted back to himself but a little more brave. Anyone else have thoughts on that specific period.

Other than Community, which shows had a “gas leak” season?
You know the type - all the characters suddenly make no sense, the plots are far fetched, everything inexplicably sucks for 22 episodes before it rebounds again.
Off the top of my head: Gilmore Girls 7 was 100% a gas leak season; as was Roswell 2 (even though I loved it).

Best Scene in Fear TWD
My favorite scene in the entire show is this final scene in Children of Wrath. The acting, directing, and music are all perfect. I get chills when I see Madison look Walker dead in the eyes, and he just nods, recognizing that she’ll do whatever it takes. Season 3 of this show was amazing because it showed us that Madison will do ANYTHING for her kids, and I thought that was a great premise for the show to stick with for the rest of it’s run. Then they just completely ruined it in season 4. It’s funny that I binged this show to find out what Morgan was up to, but that wasn’t even the part that I ended up enjoying. Feel free to let me know if y’all agree or if there’s another scene you think is better.

Who here is actually going to watch season 6?
I, for one, am not. I barely watched a few episodes of season 5 because they were so God damn boring and/or stupid. For those that want to watch just to see what stupid shit they might do this time, might suggest something? Don't watch it live. This show clearly won't change if we keep feeding it viewers, which they keep trying to bait us into with seasons 4, 5, and 6 (season 4 with Morgan, season 5 with Dwight and Daniel, and 6 with whether Morgan lives or not). If you really have to see what happens I suggest pirating the episode.

The single biggest unanswered question of the Gene era undoubtedly is,
Did 'Franch' sauce make it to market?
The Madrigal guy from Breaking Bad taste-tested Franch sauce, and "Cajun Kickass". We must find out of Franch or Cajun Kickass made it to the market after all! Everything else comes second.

[NO SPOILERS] Is it worth watching season 8?
I’m fast approaching the end of season 7 (love every bit so far), and I was wondering, given the negativity surrounding the final season if it was worth watching.
I ask because I don’t want the series ruined because of the last season, and I’d honestly rather just miss it and wait for the last book (if it ever comes out in my lifetime) if that’s the case.
No major spoilers please, thanks.

Walt & Jesse
Walt and Jesse for the most part were always not seeing eye to eye. Yes, they cared about each other but often disagreed, argued even fought. My question is, when was the longest period during the show that they got along well? Was there ever a string of episodes where they didn’t argue and were getting along great?

How Morgan controls people
Why does the show glorify what Morgan is doing? He uses the loss of Madison to manipulate Nick and Alicia. He has basically created a cult. He uses guilt to control people just like Alpha uses fear. He constantly tells people how much they need to make up.
He has gathered a group of followers who he can’t protect, feed, or house. He has been shown to choose his philosophy over human life. It’s pretty messed up and the show seems to be telling us that it is the morally right thing and that it will work out.

[Spoilers] A character that might make a return in the prequel of ‘House of the Dragon’
I was looking at a few characters in GOT tonight & figure out which character might actually be able to make an appearance in the upcoming prequel, since the prequel is obviously set before the events of the original show. ‘House of Dragons’ will be set roughly 300 years in the past. Of course, no other character will be alive for these events.. but, come to think of it.. there is one character that might be able to & my theory is it could be Melisandre aka The Red Witch. She dies after the ‘Battle Of Winterfell’ due to her old age which by Season 8 she is at least 400 years old according to the GOT wiki page born in 100BC. The events of the prequel is 300 years ago so by the time of the prequel events she would still be at least 100 years old due to her worshipping the lord of light & her enchanting necklace keeping her alive for the purpose of ‘Battle of Winterfell’ I’m just wondering if I could be right or could be just whimsical thinking, since she’s my favorite.. so, what do you guys think about this speculation?

Just started Season 3. Does the Mike storyline get better?
So I finally started the series a few days ago and have been absolutely loving it. My biggest problem so far however, is the whole Mike/Cartel storyline. I just can't seem to care very much about this plotline or really get into it at all. When I first found out Mike was a big part of the show, I was pretty excited, thinking it'd be like Season 1 where he and Jimmy's storylines were actually tied together, seeing as this is technically a show about Saul. It's not even a case of me disliking the story per se but I love Jimmy's story so much that any time we get to the cartel part of the show, I'm basically just waiting to get back to Jimmy.
Does it get better or is it a case of if I don't like it now, I won't like it in the future?

Several years ago a close friend recommended this show to me, but I put it off until just a couple of weeks ago when I got bored. I just finished the series and I’m in awe of this masterpiece. Most of my favorite shows start off great, then decline throughout the seasons like GOT or Battlestar Galactica, but Breaking Bad just kept getting better throughout its run. The hype rarely matches expectations but I’m glad to be wrong this time.

Chuck cursed Jimmy to become Saul.
Everyone focuses on the "you never meant that much to me" line, but watching this episode again it's what he says before that is really resonating with me. There is almost a ritualistic setup in the scene - the spookiness of Chuck's sudden "recovery" and the calculatedness of his voice and actions. He pretty much TELLS Jimmy what he will become - and in that "curse" he flawlessly describes Saul. Sometimes people have a father figure/role model they obsess over pleasing their entire lives who, in the end, they give total control over their own self image. I think Jimmy always had a chance to settle into a balanced combo of his good and bad qualities. I don't think any one side was the "real" Jimmy - both sides were real. But Chuck had too much power over him. He knew what he was saying with these words - watching this scene they feel so much like a "curse" to me - one that Chuck seals with the ritualistic sacrifice of his own death.
Jimmy: Something happened, and it made me think about what went down between you and me and... I wanted to say, in hindsight, I could've made different choices.
Chuck: Is that so?
Jimmy: Yeah. I mean, I'm not saying it's all on me. It's not. But if I had to do it all over again, I would maybe do some things differently. And I just thought you should know that.
Chuck: That you have regrets?
Jimmy: Yeah. I have regrets.
Chuck: Hmm. Why?
Jimmy: 'Cause you're my brother. There aren't that many of us McGills left and, uh, I think we should stick together.
Chuck: No. Why have regrets at all? What's the point?
Jimmy: What do you mean?
Chuck: Well, look at you. You're in so much pain. Why are you putting yourself through all this?
Jimmy: 'Cause I wanted to tell you...
Chuck: That you have regrets. And I'm telling you: don't bother. What's the point? You're just gonna keep hurting people.
Jimmy: That's not true.
Chuck: Jimmy, this is what you do. You hurt people, over and over and over. And then there's this show of remorse.
Jimmy: It's not a "show".
Chuck: I know you don't think it's a show. I don't doubt your emotions are real. But what's the point of all the sad faces and the gnashing of teeth? If you're not going to change your behavior, and you won't...
Jimmy: I can change.
Chuck: Why don't you skip the whole exercise? In the end, you're going to hurt everyone around you. You can't help it. So stop apologizing and accept it. Embrace it. Frankly, I'd have more respect for you if you did.

Season 5 - will the storylines converge?
A common observation (or criticism, for many people) about BCS is that it's kept the Jimmy and Mike stories almost entirely separate. For some, the Mike subplot just feels like perfunctory world-building for Breaking Bad that has little to do with the central arc of the series, which is Jimmy's moral descent and the breakdown of his relationships with those he loves. In other words, fanservice. However, I think now that we're definitively in the Saul zone, the last three seasons of buildup with the Mike/Gus story are finally going to bleed into Jimmy's world and culminate in something meaningful. The fact that Jimmy believes he's being hunted by the Salamancas when he's introduced in BB means there's clearly something consequential that happens between him and the cartel. My biggest hope for season 5 is that the Jimmy and Mike subplots interconnect rather than just coexist, and judging by the teasers I think that's what we're in for. While I think the writers would be smart to keep the focus on Jimmy's world, the show is naturally going to start feeling more like Breaking Bad, since Jimmy has finally decided to abandon his hopes of becoming part of the "legitimate" legal community and is transitioning full-on into criminal law.

Just watched Jack Ryan Season 2, what the fuck was that?
So uum, is it supposed to be that bad? A US senator gets killed on Venezuelan soil by Venezuelan authorities, and no one does anything about it. Then an FBI Agent is killed on Venezuelan soil, which generates so much tension that a whole embassy is abandoned? And, an even worse plot point is all the "operations" that God-Emperor Jack Ryan and his team of what is supposed to be superiors (but are just babysitters who really worry about hitting a child) conduct on Venezuelan soil (raiding a prisoner camp, killing a bunch of people like they never existed and disregarding most laws of physics). Then comes the most ridiculous part - they raided what I think is supposed to be the palace of President Reyas. One would think that for this to be an actual plot point they would at least sanction it as something "off the books", but no - it is authorized. This happens while literally thousands of protestors are raging against the machine in front of the Palace, with only like 5 guards protecting the PRESIDENTIAL PALACE ITSELF, all this while the election was shut down. Among all of this, Jack Ryan goes on one of his heroin wild rides again and, giving zero fucks, goes balls deep within the Palace, despite orders, gets stuck, and what do his "superiors" do? They follow him. Then he encounters the President and is about to kill him but for once he winds down from all the drugs he's on and leaves him alive, albeit still somewhat beaten up. Then they escape with their lost guy (with this not being international news) and the Palace is stormed by the citizens, with someone later mentioning that Reyas is dead (don't remember who though). What the actual fuck? Have the writers been on drugs themselves while writing this? This is so far from reality I could call in the writers' sanity for questioning. Legitimately one of the worst, not-down-to-earth shows I've watched. EVER.
Sorry for the wall of text - TL;DR: Don't watch Prime Video "originals" in Yemen.

A better FTWD spin-off would have been an anthology series
A series where every 1-2 episodes shows some phase of the early part of the apocalypse in its various stages in various locations around the world. Maybe one episode shows a person or group during the start and then the following episode time jumps them a few weeks into the shit show. Maybe it ends with them dying. Maybe it leaves you hanging as to what happens to them. Maybe we see them again later crossing paths with another group.
I started watching FTWD about a week ago. I'm on S2E8 and I'm having a hard time forcing myself through it.
I find myself not really caring about most of the characters. And the stupid situations they get themselves into doesn't help.
I find myself watching these shows more as a survival guide... sometimes what to do, sometimes what not to do.
I think the fact that, in both series, the group is always the righteous ones even though they bring as much death and destruction as the people they are fighting against is a turn off. I can never tell if the dichotomy is intentional or not.

Good lord.... the acting.....
The acting in this scene..... I was mesmerized during this scene....... Too bad Skyler isn't in very many things that are mainstream these days. Not really sure what Cranston is up to.
Skyler's expressions during this scene is seriously heartbreaking and unbelievably so well acted, as much as she got on my nerves and made me really hate her, I was more on her side during this scene.
Btw, I could not find better quality versions of this scene, sorry about that

Jesse was tragic in every way imaginable.
It’s my third time watching the show and every time a new character is introduced to Jesse, I feel impending dread. Walt burns him repeatedly, Jane dies, the plane crashes, he witnessed that druggie with the kid die, he kills Gale, Brock almost dies, Andrea dies, and finally Jesse gets tortured and beat. He had it so bad, no one can recover from that psychological turmoil.

[Spoilers] The unfortunate Trial by Combat
Tyrion's Trial, to be exact.
I know this is old, and I did watch the whole series of GOTs. However, just finished this part in the book (with a small hope of a different outcome) and I have to say, I am more disappointed at the Red Viper..
In a better world, he won.. Tyrion would then look at his sister and laugh, while saying something clever. Later, in Tyrion's bed chambers, Prince Oberyn and Tyrion would have celebrated with wine; speaking of their future trip.
That would have made me love Game Of Thrones even more, but another great warrior had to die. Rip Prince Oberyn,
You should have aimed for the head.

He has so much time to live! And he's a wanted man, so there's not a lot of chance he'll go around and see the world. What will Jesse Pinkman do all this time in Alaska? Never been to Alaska, but I don't think there's a lot of fun activities there.

TWD Franchise recent news megathread/Discussion
Before we begin, I would like to point out that the main show most likely isn't going to end after season 12.
Why?
Well, the source for this entire debate was none other than WeGotThisCovered.
For those of you who don't know who WeGotThisCovered is, they're a "news" outlet that creates stories and makes up "news" and "rumors" for the sole purpose of enticing you to click their link and give them revenue generated by website ads and clickbait.
They are especially heinous of this on the Marvel side of the spectrum - It's so bad the mods over on r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers are removing WeGotThisCovered articles from their feed because it's mostly all fictitious articles written to generate revenue.
The chances of TWD actually ending after season 12 is very highly unlikely. JUST because the comics did, doesn't mean the show will. The shoe has already differentiated from the comics in a million different ways. Sophia dying, Daryl, Merle, T-Dog, Carol surviving, (The real) Fear, MoMo and Friends, The Wolves, the Claimers, Henry, the list goes on.
I would like to address Fear now - Season 6 is most likely Ian and Andrew's last season.
AMC Might not give a shit about the state of the show, but they sure as fuck give a shit about the decline in viewership.
If Season 6 doesn't do well, AMC will most likely hire a replacement team to take over. And hopefully, it's someone who understands Fear.
The reason I say this is because - AMC listened when people didn't like Erickson. Why? Because they lost viewers.
Fear is losing viewers as it stands.
It also doesn't help that the ratings have been significantly BAD compared to Erickson's lowest season (2). And even his lowest points lasted a total of half a season. And not even half a season, just a few episodes within said half of season.
AMC is most definitely trying to do damage control right now. They're most likely going to demand some things change in hopes to garner viewers. Probably more shitty forced crossovers but I digress.
If Season 6 still does poorly, AMC would suffer greatly keeping them on for a season 7. AMC might not care about quality (Gimple is evident of that), but they sure as fuck give a shit about Money.
And Fear is losing money.
You know what it is.

Little theory on Walt, Heisenberg, and Sandia Labs
I'm on and off this sub, so tell me if this is old news, but something struck me tonight. Most of us on this sub already know that the pseudonym "Heisenberg" was taken from Werner Heisenberg, a German theoretical physicist who worked on a number of projects, including research for nuclear weapons. The Heisenberg Uncertainty principle used to be all over this sub, along with the nuclear program.
I was watching Full Measure (s3e13), which has a cold-open of a younger Walt and Skyler checking out a house - the one they would eventually live in. We learn that, at this time, Walt was working for Sandia Labs in Albuquerque. Out of curiosity, I checked out what Sandia Labs does. They're a research and engineering facility for elements of nuclear weapons systems, which is a link to Werner Heisenberg's research. At this point in Walt's life, he was somewhere between Gray Matter and high school chemistry. Seems to me that this was around the time Walt's willpower started to crumble and he became complacent. He had a nice job and didn't want to settle on the house, but he did anyway. I think that Walt had this nickname in the back of his head for nearly two decades, ever since he did research, presumably, dealing with nuclear weapons elements at Sandia Labs. Just thought that this specific occupation had something to do with his street name.

Possible BB Cameos?
Here are some (I think)plausible Breaking Bad Cameos we might see in BCS Season five:
—Declan: I cant find it, maybe someone can cite it here; but another Redditor some time ago noticed Gale explain to Gus that the Sample he ran had some easily avoidable contamination—something that was mentioned in Breaking Bad. I think it’s a real possibility we could see him In the upcoming season.
—Emilio Koyama: Last we saw Crazy 8, we saw him climb the Salamanca Ladder, so to speak, gaining trust. We know, of course, he eventually starts snitching for the DEA. You might also recall, in BB Season two, Jesse explains to Walt that Saul represented Emilio twice, and that “he was like magic...they had him dead to rights and then POOF.” A little later in the episode, Saul tells Walt that, in represented Jimmy-in-and-out, “there will be some unexpected problems with the prosecutions case.” I thinks its reasonable to think we might see Saul work his “magic” on one of Emilio’s cases this season—he is, after all, Crazy 8’s right hand.
—Hank Shader and Steve Gomez: I think it’s quite possible Hank will show up— if fact, I his appearance will act as a sort of catalyst to intertwine the Goodman and Salamanca Timelines. How? I have no idea. I mean I can speculate, we can all speculate—but honestly, the BB/ BCS writers never cease to amaze me in how creatively complex their storylines take a turn. I feel that no matter what I might predict, it’ll be too simple for these writers. I’m probably wrong about most or everything I’ve written here; but I just thought these character appearances are reasonably plausible within this next season. Is you have any more, or you disagree, I’m very interested to hear you out!

If Ned had agreed with Robert to assassinate Daenarys, there would be basically no story. Robert wouldn't have gotten pissed and went hunting to clear his mind, and he wouldn't have died. Without him dead, the war of the five kings wouldn't happen, no dragon queen in the east would be coming, Ned would live and everyone would live happily (except for the whole incest thing). The only real threat that I can tell would be the dead in the North.

I think Chuck is worse than Skyler.
So I just started watching Better Call Saul a week or two ago after having put it off for so long, since I wasn’t sure if it would taint my memory of Breaking Bad. So far I’m really liking it, but I just finished season 2, and I have to say.. I think Chuck is more of an unlikable character than Skylar was. Skylar was at least supportive until Walt started going down the deep end, Chuck has continuously been a scumbag even when Jimmy comes to aid time and time again. And also, I hate how everyone just feeds into his “condition”.
TL;DR: Chuck sucks.

Episode ONE. Hank’s toast to Walt.
I’ve re-watched the show a dozen times over, but I often neglect season one, particularly the pilot.
By and large, pilots are meant to catch you up to where you need to be to enjoy the rest of the series… Or at least that’s how I see it. Seldom do they hold a candle to the rest of the series.
I NEVER NOTICED, that for Hank’s toast to Walt, HANK TOOK WALT’s BEER!!!... he took the drink out of the hand of the vary man he’s trying to toast🙄... Out of the birthday boy’s hands!
It does immediately establish Hanks alpha male personality, and Walt’s timidness... But oy vey... Throughout the series I grew to love Hank, but I never realized until re-watching the first episode today, just how much of a “too hard of a handshake”, one-upper, douche bag he was painted as from the get go.
I love Hank; however, ten minutes in (with the gun play and all...), you know his personality type.

Brandon's Routh Kingdom Come Superman on CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths is canonically the same Superman from the Christopher Reeve films
Superman Returns (2006) was a sequel to Superman II, effectively erasing Superman III and IV out of continuity. When it was initially announced that Routh was portraying the 'Kingdom Come' Superman, there was confusion as to whether he was the actual Kingdom Come Superman from the original comic (the Earth 22 Superman) or the Superman from Superman Returns.
Marc Guggenheim, the showrunner later said that his KC Superman was a 'coda' to Superman Returns, meaning conclusion - basically confirming its the same continuity:
However there was still confusion, because some people seemed to believe that Routh's Superman isn't actually the same Superman from the first two Chris Reeve films, but merely an aesthetically similar one (which didn't make sense considering SR outright references events from the first two films)...
Well the showrunner confirmed on Twitter, that Routh's Superman is indeed the Christopher Reeve Superman from the first two movies:
https://i.imgur.com/Ioxldqf.jpg
Interestingly, the new set pictures for Routh's Superman on the CW Crisis has a newspaper article in the background which is straight from the original Kingdom Come comic, which depicts The Joker's gas bombing of The Daily Planet killing 48 people. You can see in the background of the pic if you zoom in on the news article: the article is titled Numerous fatalities in news office gas attack.
https://i.imgur.com/7wXtVJb.jpg
If you zoom in even further, you can even make out the words 'The Joker'. But what does this mean for the Donnervere??
It's 99% likely that the Margot Kidder/Kate Bosworth version of Lois Lane in the Donnerverse continuity was killed in this attack, and possibly Superman's young son from SR too. Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, etc were all most likely killed too.
I find that quite tragic, the original version of Superman, the one who could reverse time to save his love, couldn't this time...its weird to think that the original movie version of Lois is dead, but its also awesome that the original movie Superman is returning.
Thoughts?

If you had a time machine, and you could change anything in Breaking Bad to fit BCS’s story, what would it be? Or nothing?
The only thing I’d change is Mike’s death. Don’t get me wrong, as a Breaking Bad supporting character, Mike’s death was perfect. But as essentially the second main character of BCS, it deserved more focus than it got. (Obviously this is speaking with hindsight, there’s no way they’d have known).
I’d either give him a better send-off OR have him actually get away, so he could appear in the Gene flash-forwards. It would have been so perfect for Mike and Gene to both be reflecting on everything they’ve done and the decisions they made, and deciding where to go from there.

Ok, let's face it--it's hard to find quality viewing like BB and BCS. I need to find a good series on netflix, amazon, tv, showtime, hbo etc (I don't currently have HULU).
Other shows which I have also liked include: The Affair, The Americans, Homeland, Mad Men, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Jack Ryan (this was just ok), Succession, Billions (ok), Mindhunter and The Queen and The Sopranos. I tried True Detective season 1. Any others anyone likes out there. I tend to like straight up dramas (no cartoons/sci-fi/fantasy). I had trouble getting into The Wire. I din't like Ozarks.

15 Years ago Jon Stewart caused the cancelation of CNN's 'Crossfire', a political TV news show designed to ignite political tribalism. For those of you that haven't seen the clip of his appearance on the show, it's worth watching now, especially with the current state of political news media.

In Defense of Carol
TL:DR: Carol’s impulsiveness is a wake-up call to the communities to finally take action against Alpha.
Arguably, it’s obvious that plenty of people and more are upset with how Carol’s actions have been affecting her and the community this season. As a Carol fan though, I just wanted to play devil’s advocate and describe why some of her actions have merit.
We all know Carol is still suffering from the effects of Alpha and her mental state is still not clear even after this year long time jump. She’s getting impulsive and doing things without consulting others and putting people at risk.
However, let’s look at things from Carol’s view. It has been a year since the pike incident and what have the communities done to fight Alpha and her whisperer army?
Nothing. Other than some new walker training techniques, the communities have just decided to bear with it. Understandably this would be very upsetting to someone like Carol and others who have lost loved ones to Alpha. They want justice for their friends and to have to stand back and let Alpha set the rules is just a new Negan era all over again. It hurts for them to see Alpha get away with it. We have seen with Rick that he tried to follow Negan’s way of life, and how uncomfortable it was for us as viewers to see strong characters having to grovel and kneel. Rick knew that that way of life couldn’t last and made a choice to stick up and fight when enough was enough.
Carol has recognized this and wants the communities to act and while yes there are many reasons for the council and others to want to stay on their side of the border, they must realize at some point they have to stand up. It’s a bit ridiculous that over a year later, no type of plan was formulated to take Alpha down.
Therefore, Carol is taking initiative. It seems reckless to us and the other characters, but she’s trying to just convince them that the time to act is now and there’s no sense in putting this off much further, especially with how Alpha is attacking the communities from within. We saw with the gym incident that obviously Alpha isn’t respecting the borders, so why should our characters continue to?
Regarding the latest episode and the whole situation with Lydia, could you really blame Carol for putting the community over the feelings of one girl? We saw that she was correct in assuming that by showing Lydia to the whisperers, that they would question Alpha’s way of life as we witnessed with Gamma. Obviously people have problems with the execution of her plan but if it changes Gamma for the better than it was a plan that paid off.
Are some of Carol’s decisions stupid? Of course, but what character hasn’t pulled the same shit throughout the series? Daryl constantly went against Rick during the Savior war, Rick has obviously done stuff and things that made me mad, and Carl wins the number one spot of pulling bullshit I was not happy with.
At the end of the day, we have seen time and time again that Carol is smart and tactical and does things that need to get done when others won’t. There are plenty of reasons to see her way of doing things as harmful and I’m not trying to change anyone’s opinions. Just though it would be fun and interesting to try to show her side of things and get a discussion going.
Feel free to disagree or agree in the comments, I’m sure plenty of people have things to say.

[Spoilers] What do you think about the possibility of *this* valonqar?
Lady Stoneheart.
Here are my thoughts on why we should be looking at her as more of a possible candidate:
- The series kicks off with the Starks vs the Lannisters. Sure, Cersei makes a lot more enemies as the series wears on, but Catelyn has more reason to hate her than others. She indirectly got Ned killed, she held Sansa captive and facilitated Tyrion marrying her, her family conspired in the Red Wedding, etc, etc.
- This from Maggy's prophecy: "And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you." This from Catelyn to Brienne: "I have no skill with swords, but that does not mean that I do not dream of riding to King's Landing and wrapping my hands around Cersei Lannister's white throat and squeezing until her face turns black."
- George RR Martin has repeatedly said that he enjoys when prophecies are true, but not in the literal sense. Cersei expects that Tyrion will be the valonqar because he's an actual little brother she shares animosity with. But Jaime is another actual little brother. If the two have beef, it would be illogical for Cersei not to expect Jaime to become the valonqar. And with Jon slaying Daenerys, the chances of Jaime pulling a similar "go in for a kiss but stab you instead" move seem minute, since it would be fairly anticlimactic or--if it occurred earlier--make the big Jon/Dany twist underwhelming. Catelyn is leading the Brotherhood without Banners, and is likely more dimunitive than its other members, especially since she's undead now, thus "little brother."
- The valonqar bit was eliminated from the show. Back then, we thought maybe it was because it was too obvious that it was Jaime. But watching Cersei's fate in the show play out, and how disappointing it was, I felt fairly certain that GRRM would offer each character a more fitting end. Why didn't Cersei get the ending she deserved? Well, can we recall another important storyline omitted from the show that GRRM repeatedly said he didn't think should be omitted? Lady Stoneheart.
- People are wondering what the point of Stoneheart's arc is. That, to me, suggests there's more to come from her. I doubt she'd have lasted this long, or been brought back to life in the first place (since we know there has to be some purpose for that) if she isn't involved with something major.
People have been generating theories about GoT and ASoIaF for ages so I'm sorry if this reiterates points someone else has made. But it's been a thought of mine for a long time now and I'm wondering why discussions of the valonqar often include tons of people but I never see Stoneheart brought into them.

Alpha
What episode is she getting her head cut off do y'all think?
I thought for sure the way things lined up it'd be the mid season finale, but now I'm thinking it's in the mid season premiere.
With Michonne still not being written off, I can see that being their big firecracker to end the mid season. So why also use your other big firecracker with Aloha when you can save that for the mid season premiere and kick off strong?
Some friends of mine who haven't read the comments are thinking the beheading will be dragged on all the way to the end of season 10, but I don't see it.
I can see Alpha dying at the end of episode 9, and then the rest of season 10 is Beta sending that mega hoard their way.

Question about Kim
I want to know why it seems that majority of the people on this sub season, after season, seem to think Kim is dead or witness protection? When I believe, and with each passing season, it proves the the opposite is true, she is alive and well, and is working side-by-side Jimmy/Saul but off site .
- People say she is a goner because she is not in BB.
- So? Gus did not appear untill the end of season 2 of BB, but as we know he was still in the universe.
- If Braking Bad was told mostly from Jesse's POV, and not Walt, do you think we would see any of Jr.? Marie probably wouldn't appear till the end of series when Jesse was staying at Hank's and Marie's
- She could be an offsite, silent partner like Skyler. Skyler, never got her "hands dirty". She was clearly running the books, funneling the money through the car wash, her idea.
- Which brings me to point number two. Kim is already dirty.
- This is already seen in the show, doing small little fun schemes, like the one on the guy (whom Walt blew up his car) that wrote a check to the fake "Ice Station Zebra Associates" , and then got stuck with the bill for the expensive drink
- "Ice Station Zebra Associates" sounds familiar? could Kim be laundering money in BB
- The whole scheme to save Huell was Kim's idea
- Last season, we saw her doing side work as a public defender, defending criminals. And Saul is a "Criminal" Lawyer
Now one last side thing, why I think they are still together in BB, the card that Jimmy gives Francisca in the flash forward, before he calls Ed, he says, "Tell them Jimmy sent you." Francisca, already has a prior relationship with Kim. Why would she need to give Jimmy's recommendation. It's probably Howard, or if not Davis, or who knows Ernie, may be practicing on his own.
NOTE: Sorry that I fucked up the margins.

The backlash is bad and the ratings definitely aren’t ideal but it still is one of AMC’s more popular shows. I assume as long as people still watch the show, they will continue it. I could see it getting a season 7. What do y’all think?

Missed opportunity in S10 Ep7
Just a small thing, but I really feel like there was a missed opportunity in the most recent episode.
When Rosita finally gets Siddiq to open up, he talks about his survivor's guilt.
Rosita, Carl, and Rick all went through something similar with Negan.
Siddiq was wrapped up in the fact that he did nothing to help his friends, and what that meant about who he is. He needed to hear that it doesn't mean anything about who he is. And even if it did, it doesn't make him "bad" or "cowardly," any more than it makes Carl or Rick or Michonne or Rosita bad or cowardly.
I think Siddiq needed to hear that.
Rosita was telling him he wasn't alone. Not only was he not alone, he was among other people who have been through it, and went on living.
Just thought it would have been a nice touch.

Anybody else hate Kim?
I feel like she's the weakest character in the show.
- Her emotional problems are weak as hell. She's basically a work-a-holic. Bo-freaking-hoo. Jimmy is a pathological hustler, Chuck is mentally ill, Mike's carrying ten tons of tragic baggage, and Nacho is literally trying to not get himself and his father killed by 2 different drug gangs, .... and then there's Kim and her fucking Mesa Verde. Give me a break, seriously. Her story is so uninteresting compared to the others.
- She's the most hypocritical character on the show. The way she judges Howard despite herself being complicit in the demise of Chuck, the way she judges Jimmy for his antics yet still takes part in several cons with him, .... her opinion has literally become worthless because of how big of a hypocrite she is.
- She's also extremely unwise for a person who is otherwise meant to be smart. How the hell has she still not figured out what sort of a person Jimmy is? Everyone else in the show has him figured out, yet Kim is still deluding herself into thinking that he's eventually just going to become a good guy lawyer? What's she smoking? Her constant confusion whenever she realizes Jimmy has done something he shouldn't have is so annoying, like EVERYTIME I'm wondering to myself WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EXPECT HE'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS AND YOU'RE STILL SURPRISED ARE YOU STUPID??

Just finished Breaking Bad for the first time
Hey there all, I'm an 18 year old college kid and I can quite honestly say that my first ever viewing of Breaking Bad in it's entirety was oh so worth it. I'm sure there are hundreds of posts like these on this sub but I felt the need to make one myself.
Anyways whenever me and my friends would talk about TV shows, Breaking Bad would always come up. My friends always praised it and often considered it one of the greatest shows of all time if not THE greatest. But for some reason, I was really skeptical of it's merit. But then I finally started watching it and I immediately understood why it has the praise it does. The acting (Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and Anna Gunn are fucking insane in this), the incredibly intricate plot, the cinematography, the music, everything about this show was perfect. It curated such a unique and nuanced universe; it really proved that I was late to this party, that I truly had missed out on a cultural phenomenon. I'm grateful that I am even able to witness such creativity and amazing acting in a TV show.
Ultimately, I don't know the point of making this post, but if there's one thing I can say, it's that Breaking Bad is most certainly my favorite show of all time, even passing Mr. Robot. Anyways, on to BCS and El Camino now!

Now that Disney+ is out can we take a moment to appreciate the absurdity of The Mighty Ducks cartoon show?
They're alien ducks from another universe called "Puckworld." But they somehow play in a human hockey league in Anaheim. The team only has 6 players. And two of them are girls. And they're ducks.
And somehow this all came from a movie with a children's hockey team that just happened to be named the Mighty Ducks, which then spawned an NHL team.
Also Tim Curry voices the bad guy.
Anyway, here's the insanely 90's intro to an insanely 90's show.

My thoughts about Gamma...
I have found adjusting it to be really helpful, so that I can actually see what's happening in the episode. Mostly for the really dark scenes, of course!
I mean, I already have an alternative color profile that I use just for this particular series -- which alleviates most of the difficulty in minimally-lit scenes. Sometimes, though, I still felt a need to fiddle with the brightness and contrast, which didn't help as much as I'd hoped.
However, when I tried adjusting the "Gamma" setting upwards, that greatly improved visibility during the darker scenes! As such, if you ever find it difficult to see what's happening in low-light, check if you have a "gamma" setting, too, because some basic adjustments could make a huge difference.
