(World Beyond finale spoilers) New variant theory

In the post credit scene, after that woman was shot. Notice how she was running aggressively towards the gate when there wasn't even a little bit of noise coming from their, it looked like she was looking for something. u/babaner1 pointed out in a comment that since France was the last one standing, they might have developed a cure which backfired.

To add more logic in that theory, those might not be walkers. Because of the way the walker charged towards the gate seemed like she wanted to kill that guy, That 'variant' might be just people who come back after being dead but they have all their memories and abilites but are crazy and will start decaying even slower than the walkers in US.

They seem alot like The Last of Us zombies where they beat you instead of straight away trying to bite you and can be shot anywhere and will die. People were saying they were like the zombies from '28 days Later' but I don't know, I haven't watched it.

[spoilers] But how Arya?

Ok so when Arya is given her second chance to kill the actress she ask hagen if she can use one of the faces. He tells her she's not ready and her ask to me means can you teach how to do the face/off thing yet? So, how did she use a face to kill Meryn Trant in the brothel. She was never taught how to use the face and I thought there was more to it than just grabbing on of the faces and slapping on. I thought there was some kind of magic or technique at the least or am I wrong and that's basically the faces put on the wall are all ready magic. If this is true how did she latter use wallet face. I though she was taught how to use the faces after she returned from killing the waif. It really can't be as simple as cutting someone's face off and anyone can do it.

[SPOILERS] I need help understanding Bran's arc?

I understand the final arcs for almost all characters, except Bran's.

I understand Dany's downfall, but there was no buildup for it! Would have definitely made more sense and had been great if more time was spent explaining her downward spiral.

I understand Jon's "I don't want it" and begrudgingly having to be Night's Watch Lord Commander and King in the North. Expectations were subverted almost effectively by actually granting him his wish and not giving him the thing he did not want. (Still dumb since only Grey Worm wanted him dead and he went away almost immediately).

I understand Jaime's return to Cersei. It was disappointing after all that character development, but still it is understandable in a twisted way that he was still in love with her.

I understand the Stark family splitting up and having their own adventures. They were split up during the majority of the series anyways, they grew apart from each other.

I do not understand Bran's arc. What is the point of him being the three-eyed raven? I guess it is cool for him to see the past and future and reveal that R+L=J. But why did the Night King come after Bran specifically? He seemed to outlive his usefulness to the plot once the Night King is defeated. Maybe he could have been a very valuable advisor, but instead he's made king? An emotionless teen who seems to barely want to be involved in human affairs (reminded me of Watchmen's Dr. Manhattan) got selected to be king?

Is it better explained in the books?

The Walking Dead 5A Rewatch review

What I liked: - the compact terminus arc was truly excellent. Started great and ended even better. - I liked parts of the hospital arc (Beth v Dawn was really interesting) - I loved the on the road stuff with GREATM and the cinematic shots in those sections were phenomenal - Music, direction, lighting excellent as usual - Mostly good dialogue and a lot of great character dynamics came out of this season - So many characters peaked in this half season and next.

What I didn’t like: - Beth’s death. Had some really great development for it to be thrown away for shock. Really shitty death as well. - Didn’t mind the hospital arc but not great - Aside from the huge fuck up that happened at the end of episode 8, I don’t have many complaints - Some of Tyreese’s dialogue in episode 7 was atrocious. All of his chat about vibes and flowing with it seemed really weird

Favourite moment: - Eugene admits he’s not a scientist

Best scene: - the church scene (the termite slaughter)

Best dynamics:
- GREATM as a whole but specifically Eugene + Tara, Carol + Daryl

Favourite characters: - Beth (easily my favourite this half) Tara, Abraham, Rick, Glenn and Maggie

Least favourite characters - Officer Gorman

Top 3 Saddest deaths/scenes - Abraham’s hope, Beth (still tearing up at this death after a couple of rewatches), Bob

Top 3 actors/actresses in the season and the scene(s) they shined: - Seth Gilliam: all of his scenes in ‘Strangers’ and ‘Four Walls and A Roof’ and his terrified moments in ‘Coda’ - Emily Kinney: all of her scenes in ‘Slabtown’ (especially her ‘no one’s coming’ speech - Micheal Cudlitz - his various rants and speeches, all the scenes in his flashback sequence (Self Help), reacting to Eugene’s reveal

HM: Lauren Cohan (death of Beth), Norman Reedus (all of his scenes in Consumed and Beth’s death), Melissa McBride (all her scenes in consumed) and Sonequa Martin Green

Favourite episodes: - ‘No Sanctuary’, ‘Four Walls and A Roof’, ‘Self help’ and ‘Crossed’

Least favourite episodes: Slabtown (not as bad as some say)

Best bit of development: - Beth killing Gorman (the start of her small stint as a strong character)

Most wholesome moment: - Carol, Judith and Tyreese reunite with the group

Best quote: - ‘Can’t go back Bob’

Best speech: - Beth’s no one’s coming speech

Funniest line/moment: - Tainted Meat and most of Abraham’s lines including ‘Dolphin Smooth’

Coolest/most badass kill - Beth pushing Officer O’Donnell down the elevator shaft

Previous review - 4B

[Theory] The Virus was not Created in Laboratory

I've been thinking here, I put the pieces together and I have an explanation that makes total sense:

The Virus was not created by man, it came from space, in the Flashback scene from the first season of World Beyond it shows the marines talking to each other, going something like this "I heard it came back on a rocket, that it started in space. Somebody breathed it in, it turned their stomachs, and then they got on a plane..."

The French were the first to start studying the virus, I believe that was when Wildfire was declared

If things started in France, the Rocket couldn't be from NASA, but from the European Space Agency, and their headquarters it's in... PARIS, FRANCE

[SPOILERS] The Night’s Watch is actually terrifying?

I’ve seen the whole show, but I’m still on the third book. I lost interest in reading for a little while but I recently picked it back up. I just finished the chapter where TNW is at their final night at Craster’s, and a few men kill Craster and Mormont. As I was reading, I realized just how terrified I would be if I were Sam. Someone who is already not a leader at all, in the middle of these freezing cold, dead-people infested woods past any safety he’s ever known (the wall), and now he has to fend for himself. It just really put into perspective how terrifying it would be to have the one sure thing you’ve known, the command and authority you have found a “family” in, to - in an instant for him - be turned into a bloodbath. Also, I feel like the show makes it feel like Craster and the Wall are super close, but in the book I really get a sense of how far everything is. It’s just crazy to me.

Just a thought.

[SPOILERS] The Long Night is shit

- The dothraki :

This is stupid at all levels. First, they send them into complete darkness against an army than jon snow knows that is about 100.00, an army that doesn't stop and doesn't tire. Then, they were sending them against the army of the dead without any weapons that could kill them, yes , the dothraki didnt had any dragonsteel weapons. Clearly, melissandre lighting their weapons and them charging was all done to be a pretty image. You can say that the dothraki charging at their enemy is what they do, but this isnt any normal army like i said. What were they expecting to happen?

- Editing and Plot Armour :

Editing was shit. I lost count how many times i saww characters like Brienne, Pod and Jaime swarmed by wights, then cut to other shot, come back to the character that was surronded by wights just for the character to be fine. I dont know how people say they were on the edge of their seat the entire episode, dreading with tension, with editing as bad as this, after it happened 2 or 3 times with different characters i just lost it all.

- The Night King death :

This is probably the worst of all. Arya killing the Night King makes no sense if you look at the previous seven seasons. She didnt even knew he existed until season seven! Bran and Jon were the ones who were always envolved with the Night King storyline! Why does Arya get to kill him? I would be pretty pissed too if it was Jon killing Ramsay instead of Sansa, or if it was Jon avenging his family instead of Arya, because those storylines belong to Sansa and Arya, respectively. People say that she was the only one who could sneak on the Night King but why does he have to die with a dagger or a sword thru the chest? Bran is the 3 eyed raven, the archenemy of the Night King, couldnt the writers do something else with it?

I also hated that when the Night King died every wight and white walker died too. This is the type of shit that happens in the marvel movies, which actually happened in the first avengers movie. This isnt original at all and its a cheap way to finish the episode.

- General Problems :

  • Bran did nothing in this episode, what the fuck was he doing when he warged into the crows?
  • The wight dragon can destroy the wall, he also saw him destroy a castle wall in this episode, but
he can't destroy the rock jon is hiding behind?
  • Why didnt arya turned into a wight when the Night King touched her?
  • Character deaths; seems pretty unrealistic that so few named characters died but oh well, kinda disappoiting, i was expecting that in the big battle of the show more main characters would die, instead of mostly secondary characters. Especially when most main characters were in the front lines.
  • Lighting was shit, couldnt see shit when i watched it live.

Whats the point of having a huge budget for writing this shit? Blackwater was a much better episode than this shit with a much smaller budget.

[Spoilers] Plot armour in GoT

The most infuriating thing about seasons 6-8 is the sheer amount of plot armour and deus ex machinas forced into the scenes to avoid the corners that the writers wrote the characters into. Characters who make stupid decisions escape the consequences of their actions, which completely contradicts one of the highlights of the series. Here's a list of what I thought was the worst cases of this-

Jon: So, so much plot armour for one character. The most striking instance of this is in the Battle of the Bastards. Jon falls for Ramsay's trap, gets unhorsed, is within range of Ramsay's archers, is far away from his own army and is right in the middle of the battlefield. Yet, he isn't hit by a single arrow ( none in seven arrow barrages), he is sandwiched between two cavalry charges with just a sword, and still doesn't take a hit, slacks off multiple times in a chaotic battle, still doesn't take a single hit, gets stuck under a stampede, still uninjured, all in good time for the knights of the Vale to jetpack through the North as a final deus ex machina.

However, that's not the only instance. Beyond the Wall, he is huddled on a rock surrounded by wights and yet the NK chooses to wait around until deus ex machina Dany jetpacks from Dragonstone (this applies to all the others as well), engages in a stupid and pointless staredown with the NK, only to get dragged into freezing water. He spends a significant amount of time in frigid waters, yet emerges completely unaffected by hypothermia or suffocation. Benjen Stark shows up as yet another deus ex machina, and Jon is set off on a horse which conveniently reaches right in front of Dany.

In the battle at Winterfell, Jon is at one point completely surrounded by wights and the NK, but the NK walks away instead of engaging with Jon with the clear numerical advantage he has while the wights suddenly become slow zombies. Later, a tiny wall somehow shields him from the full force of dragonfire.

The Unsullied and the Dothraki decide to spare Jon for some reason, given the fact that he killed Dany.

Jaime: Jaime stupidly charges at Dany in their battle despite the fact that she's standing right next to a dragon. Bronn teleports in just in time to push him into the waterbody. Judging by the shot just before that, the both of them would have still landed in fairly shallow waters right next to the dragon, but they are somehow in the middle all of a sudden. Bronn is somehow able to drag a fully-armoured adult out of the water all by himself while Dany's army has conveniently disappeared and is not looking for Jaime despite the fact that Dany herself knows that he's alive and that he is a valuable hostage.

Jaime, Brienne, Sam, Tyrion, Sansa: In the Battle of Winterfell, we see Jaime, Brienne and Sam swarmed by wights, and Tyrion and Sansa stuck in crypts where the dead Starks' corpses got re-animated, yet somehow all these characters make it out of the battle alive.

Arya: Arya manages to sneak up on NK somehow, and NK, who has caught her by the throat, decides to just stare at her instead of snapping her neck, or at the very least, throwing her down.

Arya also survives the destruction of King's Landing after being hit by debris on at least 3 occasions and dragonfire in one.

Is there any stand-out plot armour or deus ex machina that I missed?

Are they just controlled by the wight walkers and if they are how do the white walkers lead them around when there not there unless there using the wights eyes to see through? So, then again how do they white walkers lead the wights with no eyeballs especially if there not in eye sight. If you cut off a wights head is It still alive, but useless, and if it is useless with no head because it can't see then wouldn't all the wights that are decomposed down to skeletons with no eyes be just as useless as one without a head?

So I decided to watch it cause I’ve been hearing it’ll be a “suprise” showing the future of the walking dead. Why the fuck are there now more aggressive walkers?? I’m down for it as I always preferred the first seasons walkers and darabonts vision of them but this is something else.

About Carol's character

Carol used to be one of my favourite characters from seasons 3-9ish. I thought she was a great improvement over the Carol that was in the comics. But in the past season and a half, I've found her to be one of the most dull and pointless characters currently present. It just seems like she has overstayed her welcome and that the writers don't know what to do with her. I know they're not going to kill her off this season since she is 1 of 2 of the only season 1 characters still present in the show, and that she has has an upcoming spin-off show with Daryl, which I'm not too excited about. I don't know, does anyone else feel the same about her character?

Light the Night - Best Taiwan Drama of the year!

Everyone should try to watch Light the Night. Just did a huge binge.

It's like a murder mystery and reminds me of Broadchurch a bit.

The acting is excellent, and the mystery is quite complex.

No spoilers here but would love to discuss the season with everyone.

Where do all these Saviors come from?! (Spoiler)

Currently watching season 8 ending and I have to ask, it seems like no matter how many saviors are killed they seem to always have even more afterwards, seems almost useless to continue fighting them. Maybe I’m underestimating how many they had at outposts? I’m not sure I’m lost.

[Spoilers] When does ASoS get amazing?

I'm currently aroung 400 pages deep in the first part of ASoS: Steel and Snow

While its great its has the same quality level as ACOK with a few better POV's(Jaime's) and character plots like the Astapor one and Jon Snow with the wildlings , however I dont really understand why its so hyped and praised as the best book in the series, the tyrion chapters arent as interesting and theres been alot of monologue without much action

Is it the calm before the storm ?(pun intended) Does It get as good as people say it is in the next part(Blood and Gold) , ik thats when the red wedding happens and jon does something cool too but is that it? or are there even greater twists ?

Please dont take this as offensive as I am still enjoying the 1st part but just wondering when the action begins currentlyDavos is locked underground , Arya arrived at the stony sept , jon is about to climb the wall, tyrion has just married sansa, daenerys has the unsullied , jaimes arrived at harrenhal

[Spoilers] Targaryen Restoration

Why did people want this? The Targs were ousted for a good reason.

Jon didn't know he was a Targ for most of the show. He didn't care once he found out. He never wanted to rule. Ever. Plus he sucks at it.

Dany speaks for herself as the mad king's daughter. Since season 1 she's been burning people alive. She sucks as a leader too.

Jon and Dany were gross together. They had a tenous alliance as well.

If the show ended with a Targ restoration what would have been the point of the story? The show illustrated the danger of hereditary monarchy.

New to Walking Dead. Binging for weeks but now stuck at Season 7

Alright as mentioned in title, I'm stuck in Season 7. None of my friends and family made it past here so I have no one else to ask.

First episode I thought was absolutely brutal. How can they do Glenn like that?? The dude literally gets out of the most impossible situations and he goes out just like that. The hardest scene for me to watch was when Negan asked Rick to cut off Carl's arm. I genuinely thought everyone else was gonna die.

The whole time I was hoping some plot armor would happen. Like Carol and Morgan would show up to wipe everyone out or a herd so huge they all had to leave. But nothing. It was pure torture throughout.

I kept on watching, thinking they would figure something out but it just gets worse. I hate the way they treat Daryl and I hate the way Rick gets pushed around.

I hate spoilers but I had to look up when Negan dies and it turns out I have to endure pretty much 2 seasons of him. Does it get better? It's so hard to see them like that and I dont know if it's worth watching anymore.

I loved Game of Thrones up until towards the end and I would like to know if it is gonna be like that because I don't wanna have to go through that again.

I'm fine with people dying, that's just expected but I can't stand that they're not fighting back and they're slowly losing so much their food, their guns, their people etc.

Daryl is my favorite, next was Maggie then maybe Glenn or Michonne. My least favorite are Father Gabriel and Eugene and I'd have been less upset if they died. I like Rick and I dont think hes gonna die so I'm not worried. I like Carl but I would be fine if he died as long as he doesn't get raped or killed by one of his people. I dont want Judith to die. I like Morgan and Carol but I would be fine if they died and I think one of them will. Sasha and Rosita I feel need more character development same for Enid. Then everyone else I don't care for too much.

So yeah with all that said should I keep going? Or will I just be more disappointed?

TLDR; Is Season 7 and onwards worth watching?

[Spoilers] What was the purpose of Bran telling

Jon about who his parents were? It served no purpose other than to drive a wedge between him and Daenerys to the point where things stopped making any sense in the last half of the finale and Bran ended up king. But when he saw Sam he told him that they needed to tell Jon and then kept pressing Sam for him to tell Jon. It obviously seemed like something that was going to be important. But then at the whatever king selecting council none of the at least 5 people there that knew that Jon was Aegon Targaryen said nothing at all about him being the rightful heir to the throne. Then he just rode north to the nightswatch while Greyworm's troops left anyway.

What was the point of it? Did Bran intentionally just move pieces in place to make Daenerys have a mental breakdown and completely lose it only for Jon to somehow be outcasted as a result? Doesn't this just make Bran the ultimate villain of the story? He had Theon sacrifice himself for no real point other than for Bran's amusement. He didn't do anything else during that entire battle except joy ride some crows the entire time.

And then Sansa is all like well the North will never bend the knee Bran so you must let the North be separate. What? Bran holds lordship over Winterfell and the North over you Sansa. Him being King isn't bending the knee, it's a northern takeover.

He probably caused more death's than anyone else over the course of the show. Just sheer numbers.

'South Park: Post Covid' - Premiere Discussion (spoilers)

Plot summary: decades after the events of the 'Vaccination Special', the kids - now adults - are reuniting to find out what happened to their friend Kenny who became a famous scientist.

I feel it had a lot of wasted potential. Showing the main characters as adults could have been a comedic gold mine. There were some amusing stuff here and there, like the discovery that Cartman became Jewish (I'm still not 100% convinced that this isn't somehow a prank on kyle. Theoretically his Jewish family can be "virtual" like Stan's wife) but overall the plot had a slow pace and a shallow depth.

Your thoughts?

Can we talk about Hit Monkey?

I honestly did not know what to expect with this considering I had never heard of this comic before. Then again I had never heard of Guardians of the Galaxy or Doom Patrol either. This show, while I almost thought it was an Archer rip off because of the Bryce character, is so engrossing. The Monkey shows more emotions and feelings than most live action human actors. The violence, the fish out of water humor, and a great cast with Olivia Munn, Jason Sudeikis, and George Takei. I hope it gets picked up for a second season. 10 episodes is not enough.

[Spoilers] Was Tyrion really mistreated and overlooked? My analysis...

Tyrion is a fan favorite no doubt, seeing him work his magic organizing the affairs of Kingslanding and “bringing that boy king to heel” was one of the most enjoyable parts of the show. Peter Dinklage's performance earns the character more respect that he deserves, because in the end Cersei was right about Tyrion. He always played the victim role when he was never a victim.

Tyrion Lannister, Hand of the King to Joffrey Baratheon

Tyrion and Tywin

Tyrion lived in luxury and decadence seemly all his life, and as stated in the later seasons, was even put in charge in a minor role in the management of Casterlyrock. Although this role had him managing the construction of the sewers, geographically the lowest position in the castle, it doesn’t actually mean it was a low position. Tyrion was still in a position that held administrative power, unlike his eldest brother who was a knight subordinate to others. (Tywin says to Jaime, "If serving is the sum of your ambition, go serve"). with his sister Cersei, being married off with no hopes of gaining power for herself at all. So in relation to his siblings, his position designing the sewers was still more responsibility than either Cersei or Jaime got. To this point, Tywin would also never put Tyrion in a position that would dishonor the House. Seeing as this is the very reason the Lannisters would go to war against the Starks in the first place. "He may be the lowest among us, but he is a Lannister" and later "You gave us no choice, the honor of the House was at stake". So although Tywin might express a negative or critical attitude towards Tyrion, he still regards him to be a Lannister.

Excluding the fact that Tyrion is not the eldest son, and that Cersei is also overlooked by Tywin. Tyrion is given more power than he deserves while complaining that he is treated unfairly. He is named Hand Of The King by Tywin, the second highest and arguable the highest position in the Seven Kingdoms due to the fact the King is a child. When he is no longer Hand Of The King, he is then named Master Of Coin, and with that given a seat on the small council along with being made Lord of Winterfell through his marriage to Sansa Stark. Even as Tywin rebukes his claim over Casterlyrock, which he has no claim to, seeing as Tywin always planned to remove Jaime from the Kingsguard through royal decree, Tywin still gives him equal or even greater power to that of the Lord Of Casterlyrock.

With all of this what does Tyrion do? He continues to hang out with "cutthroats and w_h__s (shae)" as Tywin points out. How could he with this behavior possibly think Tywin would name him Lord Of Casterlyrock? And even when given everything he could've asked for, through marriage with Sansa Stark, he takes a moral stance no one in the universe of Game Of Thrones would ever take. Arranged marriages, and age gaps would be irrelevant to a feudal society like GoT. As Tywin says "do you plan on mistreating her"? Putting into perspective that Sansa although forced into this marriage and would be forced to mother a child, she would still be better off. And we would see this as she was made a pawn of Petyr Baelish. Even so would doing this to Sansa be worst than killing his own father? (Tyrion's justification for the murder of Tywin relies on this history of the supposed mistreatment he suffered at the hands of Tywin. Not just on the outcome of the trial. As Tywin says "what happens to my legacy if I spare the murderer of my Grandson, the King?". Tywin was in a tight spot seeing as Tyrion's wife Sansa Stark fled, leading to the correct suspicion of her involvement in the murder of King Joffrey. Tywin planned on sending Tyrion to the Night's Watch. An action that could be undone through royal decree which we learned when Stannis Baratheon, the Rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms, offered Lordship of Winterfell to Jon Snow).

https://i.redd.it/cp7xwxzc2r181.gif

Tyrion and Joffrey

Tyrion is regarded to be one of the smartest people in all of the Seven Kingdoms. However here you have Tyrion, knowing full well that Joffrey Baratheon is the Crown Prince and future Lord of the Seven Kingdoms. Taunting, belittling and even at times "bullying" the Prince. I by no means am saying that Joffrey did not deserve to be set straight, but from the very first episode (and I think this was a point made by the show that fans tend to overlook) Tyrion always picked fights with Joffrey and this would come back to haunt him. In season 2, Tyrion flexes his muscles as Hand of the King, only increasing the animosity between him and the now current King. This makes absolutely no sense! While others are rushing to flatter, seduce or cajole the boy King, Tyrion is making him into an all powerful enemy! Then later he is played as the downtrodden victim for the way he is treated by King Joffrey, the kid he spent all his time antagonizing.

Tyrion, Hand Of The Queen

One of the single worst moments of the show is Tyrion being named Hand Of the Queen, and him regarding it as a great accomplishment. To me this is fanservice that also says "Tyrion didn't need his family. No one ever believed in him, so he did it himself". But here you have it as though he wasn't Hand of the King, to the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms. A much higher position than the Queen Of Meereen, an impoverished city which is dwarfed in comparison to Westeros. Even his Lordship over the North and role as Master of Coin dwarfs being Hand Of the Queen to Daenerys Targaryen. He basically killed his father, and went to the other end of the world to reinvent himself exactly but slightly worst off that he was before. This is not an error of his character, more so of the writers. In this case Tyrion regaining his position is an achievement, but for his story he is back in the same position while on the verge of tears being named a lesser role than he was prior.

Cersei and Tyrion

What Cersei says in the final season is absolutely correct. Tyrion plays the victim even while Cersei, with cunning rivaling Tywin, never got any recognition or position unlike ungrateful Tyrion. Cersei went from arranged marriage, to unloved wife, abused wife, to a victim of the Faith, to losing her three kids, and also Jaime. She was left completely alone. Cersei although being a bad person, and caught up in her own schemes, was cornered and did what she had to do for the ones she loved. Her children. As Cersei says, Tyrion destroyed what they had when he killed Tywin. Left them defenseless in the face of their enemies. He thought only of himself, and not of House Lannister. The same house he thought he was fit to be Lord over.

This is why as much fun as Tyrion was in Season 2. I do not like his character and think fans give him way too much respect.

[Spoilers] Endgme

Just random thoughts. Anytime I think of the show, I try to think of the positives instead of the ending. I was one of the few who enjoyed certain parts of season 8 but whenever I think about the fact that Jon was the so called “Prince who was promised” and the literal embodiment of “a song of ice and fire”, it aggravates me even more to see his fate.

I’m Rafe Judkins, showrunner and executive producer of the new Amazon Original series, The Wheel of Time, here to answer your questions. AMA

Ask me anything you want to know about the new series! And I’ll do my best to answer. The Wheel of Time is a new Amazon Original series that premiered on Prime Video November 19, based on the best-selling book series by Robert Jordan. Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.

The 8-episode one-hour drama will air new episodes weekly, leading up to the season finale on December 24. For more information follow @TheWheelOfTime on @amazonprimevideo.

[Spoilers] Can I still enjoy the Books even though it was spoiled

I am currently in the beginning of ASoS and The Things which were spoiled are:

1.There's something called the Red Wedding and all I know is that Robb dies there, nothing else

  1. That Jon Snow is the son of Lysa and Rhaegar

3.Joffrey dies at some point(though I was sure it was gonna happen sometime)

One of the advice my friend gave me who finished reading the series is that "go in with the expectation that everyone dies"

But I still feel a little bummed out

'The Calm Before' - did the show make a last minute change in killing Tara instead of Rosita?

I'd read the comic so knew what to expect with heads on poles finale.

But the build up, with Gabriel (Rosita's boyfriend) asking Eugene (Rosita's admirer) where she was, then Siddiq (father to be) breaking down in tears, all suggest the show was going to stay with Rosita being killed like in the comic. When you see Tara's head on the stick instead of Rosita's it's momentarily confusing. Moreeso if you hadn't read the comic, because that's what you'd anticipate following the action onscreen.

However I wonder if they shot all that before the final decision was made about who would die. Especially because of this;

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So how did you find out about Tara’s demise?
ALANNA MASTERSON: I got a phone call from [showrunner Angela Kang] about two weeks before I shot the episode.

https://ew.com/tv/2019/03/24/walking-dead-tara-alanna-masterson-calm-before-915/

I reckon they decided to keep Rosita last minute because of the pregnancy story arc. Plus, she's hot, and not as annoying as Tara. Just sayin'.

To me, it's a tough call between the last four episodes of season 8, but if I picked one, it would definitely be episode 3 season 8.

It just sucked, from being too dark for us not able to see anything, through the plot making no sense at all, to the part it didn't fit the rest of the series at all.

Just binged all 11 seasons

I just recently watched TWD dead in its entirety, so I've basically experienced a decade of this world in a matter of a few weeks. Wow, what a journey. Here are a few of my takeaways. Also I've never read the comics so I have no idea how it all is supposed to end.

- It looks like this is a common sentiment around here, but WOW I can't believe Rick disappeared and his situation was never resolved!! I didn't read about why until after I finished the whole series, but it was heartbreaking when I realized that he just wasn't coming back. No clues, no reunion with his daughter, no riding in to save the day when his people needed him.

- Michonne leaving made zero sense. I get that the actress wanted to leave - but wow you really just abandoned both of your children?

- By the end I was really missing the dusty roads, Rick on his horse with his pistol, and the old-school vibe of the first seasons. Instead it was replaced with cities, soldiers with tactical gear, governments, etc. I guess it was important to keep building to something bigger instead of endlessly wandering the roads looking for shelter, but it starts to feel like a different show.

- When the characters reached the Commonwealth, it was mentioned they had over 50,000 people. It seemed like this was just glossed over, and we never got to see a fraction of what that looks like aside from a few set pieces.

- Negan and Maggie trying to be buddies was just awkward. Also I felt like we started to see way too much Leah at the end.

- I was hoping Ezekiel would end up with another tiger, and somehow regain his throne in a new "kingdom".

- Daryl is the best character ever. I don't think I'll ever watch anything Norman does because I want to believe Daryl is real.

Anyways, it was awesome, and I guess now I have to wait until 2022 to see the ending!

[Spoilers] The wasted potential of the Blackfish

The Blackfish is one of the most interesting characters in GoT. He's a respected knight, true to his ideals and supremely loyal, while also an incredible strategist and commander. The way in which he was killed off in the show (without even showing his death) was disappointing. His presence in the show would have added an extra layer of politics in the Riverlands. Instead, what we got was the plot in yet another kingdom sacrificed to make way for spectacle revolving around the Starks and the Lannisters, and Dany ( like the Iron Islands, the Stormlands and Dorne).

"The Great" is the horniest show I've ever seen.

I'm not usually fond of historical dramas because they're either seeling themselves off as "a true Story" being mostly bullcrap or soap operas disguised as period pieces by a few dresses.

But boy do I love "The Great". It has no pretension of being historically accurate outside a few names, and because of that its free to do wild stuff. It's absolutely hilarious and engaging.

Its also horny as hell. I feel it intensified in the second season. The non-chalant attitude towards sex of the Russian Court would make HBO blush and Cinemax take notes

[SPOILERS] Game of Thrones ending has logic

[SPOILERS] I don't think that the ending of Game of Thrones was bad. I think that they made the Long night too short and killing of The Night King deserved more twist as he was the most powerful creature.

Here is why I think that GoT's ending was logically correct.

  1. Killing of Dany

-- Jon was always faithful to his duty. He killed Half hand to protect the Night's Watch. He endangered his life and dealt with the wilding. And when Dany killed thousands for nothing and the Unsalid were killing Lannister soldiers who asked pardon it was Jon's duty to stop it rather things would get worse as Dany started killing people.

  1. Bran got the throne.

-- Bran knew the whole past of mankind. He knew what was wrong and what led to destruction more than anyone. He was a cripple and he endangered his life and went North to save everyone from the White walkers. With out mentioning he was the most powerful man in westros. See the Night King only targeted him. Then Bran cannot have any children so Tyrion and Bran Broke the wheel. From now no mad king can come to power. And no one can be the heir to the throne. I don't see logic that people complaining about Bran becoming king. As he was the history of mankind and the NIGHT KING WANTED TO KILL ONLY HIM . He will be king who knows what is wrong what is right.

If you find anything wrong comment bellow 😉😉

World Beyond

This new season has been way more interesting and fun to watch compared the the first season.

Theyve managed to pack so much into these episodes but still keep them detailed with the right info.

I'm not a huge fan of the characters and cast choice, mostly the main characters especially fucking Iris. Oh lord don't let me start on her. A stick with a rock wrapped to it? Come on walking dead lmao.

Really wish this wasn't the final season!

Who watches these shows?

I am curious on who actually watches the walking dead franchise? Like how many people do you know/live in your area actually watch these shows? Do you often have discussions about it?

I'm from the Philippines and all the people that I know who used to watch the main show just stopped a long time ago.

It's baffling to me because it seems that the franchise is losing its viewers but it keeps on expanding further.

What are your thoughts on this?

[Spoilers] Why didn't Jaime ask Tywin for more...?

Legacy means the world to Tywin, At Tyrion's trial, Jaime was prepared to marry and take his seat as heir of Casterly Rock. Why didn't Jaime ask Tywin for Tyrion to be pardoned? Seeing Tywin likely knew Tyrion was innocent and the cause of legacy meant far more of a deal to him than his hatred towards Tyrion.

If Tyrion had been pardoned It wouldn't have led to Tywin's eventual death, Or oberyn, Sure you'd have Cersei whining around and trying to assassinate Tyrion, but I think Tyrion would've been at Casterly Rock by then.

Is It just trying to stick to the book logic?

What’s your most unpopular opinion when it comes to television?

And why?

Mine is that Conan O’Brien is an incredibly overrated as a Late Night TV Show host among younger millennials and Generation Zers and that many people of my generation have obviously never took the time to watch David Letterman in his prime.

Also I liked Carson Daly as a Late Night TV Host.

[SPOILERS] Do you think Littlefinger would have helped Ned Stark after the hunting incident?

In S1 after after the death of Robert Baratheon, little finger said they could take out stannis.. I think he wanted Ned to hide Joffreys true lineage and be his regent. He told Ned that, "His price would be modest"..

Ned would never do this because it would undermine his honor. However, If he did, you think littlefinger would have partnered with Ned? Since all littlefinger wanted was power, I think he would have.

[Spoilers] Good Acting Influenced Show Direction

I've been thinking about this one a lot recently. I think there are certain instances where individual actors did such a good job that they artificially enhanced their characters and in some instances may have even extended the lives of their characters.

Lena Heady as Cersei Lannister is a perfect example. I think Cersei's demise in the books will come about much sooner. I'm specifically referencing Young Griff, the Mummer's Dragon, and what I think will be the moment the Lannisters lose their grip on King's Landing which will happen sooner in the books and not at the hands of Daenerys.

Gerome Flynn as Bronn is another example. Bronn in the books is very much a secondary character. In the show, he starts off that way but I think audiences liked him and the actor so that much that Bronn in the show worked his way into being a main character. The last thing to happen to Bronn in the books is he takes over castle Stokeworth and deposes its former lord with a dagger through the eye. The biggest problem Bronn has at the moment is he may be considered a loose end by Cersei and even though she ends the last book focused mainly on her upcoming trial by combat, assuming she can get out of it I think she'll eventually revisit the issue and have Bronn killed.

Liam Cunningham as Davos Seaworth is another example. The show attributes Davos with coming up for the idea to contact the Bank of Braavos for a loan to hire soldiers to fight for Stannis. In the books, the bank of Braavos comes to Stannis on its own accord convinced that the crown under the control of the Lannisters won't be able to pay its debts. In the show, Davos and Stannis go to the Iron Bank and when the Iron Bank initially refuses to loan Stannis the gold, it's Davos who gives an epic speech and convinces them they need to back a more stable and reliable leader if they want their debts repayed. In the books, Davos isn't even there when the envoy from the Iron Bank finds Stannis in the North.

Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister is another example. This one is a bit different. Charles Dance's phenomenal acting did not allow Tywin to escape Tyrion's bolt through the heart but I think it did get the character more screen time. In the books, Roose Bolton takes over Harrenhal and he makes Arya his cup bearer. The show changed this to Tywin and the Lannisters holding Harrenhal and Arya being his cup bearer. I must admit I would have difficulty arguing against this decision as I think Charles Dance and Maisie acted brilliantly in the scenes between Tywin and Arya and I enjoyed their relationship. Tywin's death also occurs much sooner after the Red Wedding in the books than in the show, at least it feels that way to me.

What do you think? Can you think of anymore?

[Spoilers] was brans story really that boring or was it because of this?

I know a lot of people think its really boring. But i always find myself really enjoying brans story up until the very end of S6 where he loses all personality. My theory is that people perceive his entire story as being boring because of the real time that passed inbetween seasons. Their was only about 10 episodes of bran. But those episodes took place over like 4 years in the real world. Essentially making it feel like it was boring for much longer. I always thought bran and the gang had a pure coming of age story more than anyone else in the show. The band of misfits going north of the wall and becoming the 3 eyed raven.

A hated ending of a TV show that you actually like?

I don't care what anyone says, The Sopranos had an amazing conclusion. The whole final season was building up to that moment and Chase ended it beautifully. It was really sad but it was to be expected from a show about the Mafia. The whole final episode is a work of art imo and I absolutely love it.

To me that was why I loved Game of Thrones. You had no idea who was gonna die or what was going to happen. No other show has done that.

I think a sequel showing after the show would be better than the prequel showing before. Especially after how bad the last season was and how they ruined Khaleesi.

The Ammo Situation

I've seen too many people bitch and moan that nobody uses guns post-timp jump.

"iTS AmERiCa!", "1/3 hoUsEHolDs hAs gUNs"

They ran out of bullets. Simple as that. After 10+ years they're just out. They're not just gonna happen upon a surplus of ammo out in rural Virginia, because everything worth finding has been found and picked clean by the survivors or other groups.

Yes there are bullets still in the US, but procuring them would mean to send people for potentially weeks or months, farther outside the safezone than they've ever been just to find some bullets.

Also the guns just aren't practical for everyday use anymore. You fire a gun, you draw a horde. You fire a gun, you draw people.

Too many people are pissed off that the past three season have had little to no gunplay. If you want to see that, just rewatch the first 8 seasons.

Also, rewatch season 8 and tell me how many bullets you think would be left after all the bs they did during the war.

The Walking Dead 4A rewatch review.

What I liked:

  • Honestly so many positives. The flu was a very interesting new threat, the Governor’s near redemption was awesome and the culmination in too far gone was just incredible.
  • The music was so good. Specifically the themes for The Governor and Hershel (easily the best characters this season)
  • Cinematography and direction was perfect every time and there were so many good performances this season
  • Good start to the Gimple era

What I didn’t like: - ‘Smith and Wesson kinda gal’. This line is cringey. Maybe it’s the delivery or it’s just a cringey line in general. - Aside from that and some very small issues a pretty perfect half season

Favourite moment: - Hershel taking out the victims of the flu as walkers or the fall of the prison

Best scene: - The ‘Too Far Gone’ standoff

Best dynamic:
- Daryl + Michonne

Favourite characters: - Michonne, Hershel, The Governor, Beth and Daryl

Least favourite characters - Lizzie or Mitch

Top 3 Saddest deaths: - Hershel, Karen and Meghan (not enough main deaths so side ones will do. Going to be tough in 4B with a severe lack of deaths)

Top 3 actors/actresses in the season and the scene(s) they shined:

  • Chad Coleman: reacting to Karen’s death, his speech before he fights rick, general Tyreese anger moments,
  • Emily Kinney: ‘we’ve all got a job to do’ speeches And her scenes in too far gone
  • David Morissey: every scene in ‘Live Bait’, killing Martinez, Pete + Hershel and his death

HM: Scott Wilson (crying over the death of Caleb and the others), Andrew Lincoln (all scenes in too far gone and exiling Carol) and Lauren Cohan (all her scenes with Hershel and reacting to his death)

Favourite episodes: - Internment, Too Far Gone, 30 days without an accident, Indifference

Least favourite episodes: - So tough to pick. Live Bait if I had to choose

Best bit of development: - Rick exiling Carol (Carol and Rick)

Most wholesome moment: - Glenn and Sasha pull through

Finished the first 2 episodes of Cowboy Bebop and so far it's looking like a pretty good show

I saw a lot of reviews where not saying the best things about the show but 2 episodes in I'd say it's been a pretty good live action version of the anime. Now, I'm no superfan of the anime or anything but the show definitely feels like it really knew the source material pretty well. The action scenes so far have been pretty good and got a feel of the anime as well. Music has been on point as well, other than Real Folk Blues not being there.

I think Spike is cast alright. I was in the camp that didn't really mind him getting cast older as in the anime he seemed more mid 30's than mid 20's to me. I know Cho is near 50, but overall I think he's done a good job so far.

Jet is by far the best casting of the show though. He absolutely nails the role.

Faya.... Well I don't really like her so far. I think she wasn't cast very well, but I guess I'll see how she evolves as the show moves on with the story archs

Rewatching Seinfeld and noticed something interesting

In Season 5, Episode 9, Elaine tries to convince her boyfriend, Joel Rifkin, to change his name because he shared a name with a serial killer. When offering suggestions for a new name, her second suggestion is O.J., after O.J. Simpson. This was two years before O.J. totally didn’t commit two murders.
