I just completed the Whisperers arc

Holy shit, It was so good. There was not one moment where i felt like leaving the show in between. The villains, Alpha and Beta were some of the most formidable humans I've ever seen(after the Governor and Negan ofc). Negan's Redemption felt nice. Hope he doesn't betray the group later. 10/10 arc really loved it

Btw who where those soldiers at the end of 10×16. Please be as vague as possible don't want any spoilers.

If the Rick movies release they should end the franchise there IMO.

I've seen lots of folks getting cynical when it comes to this franchise due to the content. Can't say I disagree with that. I hope they end up doubling down on the movies and put the best of their resources into making them good because this franchise or fanbase feels like it's dying quick. I hope that they use the Daryl show and Isle of the Dead to give the movies a proper build up instead of dragging them on like a new Fear the Walking Dead. And end this franchise or at least storyline with the movies.

Maybe they can reboot it and make like an animated show on the comics or Clementine, or following characters after the movies and cross the shows over. But that's just my take, thoughts?

Ms. Marvel is easily my favorite Marvel TV show so far

I say this as an Indian-American with a lot of Indian and Pakistani friends that don't really often feel represented in TV and film.

I've heard people say they don't feel inclined to watch this show for one reason or another. I understand the feeling of "Marvel exhaustion" but I think this show actually strays from the Marvel formula quite a bit. I'm really stunned with how wholesome the show is and how well they portray Desi culture. And it doesn't beat you over the head with it. Its such a sincere show and I really hope more people give it a shot.

I'm stunned that a Disney show is talking about things like The partition, British Colonialism, the impact of what white people did to India, the relationship between India and Pakistan and even showing a lot of very "normal" scenes in mosques that I don't think I've ever seen an American TV show do before. I feel like this show is doing an entire generation of kids and teenagers a favor by exposing them to our culture in a way that's so incredibly normal and not the clown-show that normally gets portrayed on TV/Film. No goofy accents, no convenience stores, no characters that are designed to be comic relief/a taxi driver/an IT guy/a doctor.

And at the risk of sounding like one of those dudes that are upset about Apu(for the record, I got nothing against Apu, Hank Azaria or The Simpsons), I really appreciate how this show makes ALL of its brown characters, just normal people. Even just Kamala's parents and brothers, feel like rolemodels I would have appreciated when I was a kid. Their family dynamic and the chemistry is all just so wholesome and well done. The mom reminds me so much of my mom and all the aunties I've known, in that brown women of her generation sacrificed so much for their kids in coming to America. Its an entire life of seemingly endless sacrifice for your children and then contending with how your kids are, well, American - and not like you and have their entire own world that doesn't really match up with your expectations. I'm rambling, but so many of the characters seem so well thought out. The brother and the sense of being the favorite son, but also having a ton of expectations hoisted on you. The dad that wants their kids to have happiness by any means and for them to not have to experience the life they had to live.

Admittedly, I may be a bit biased, but I just have to pump this show up if people are foregoing it because its not Falcon and Winter Soldier/Wandavision/Loki/Moon Knight, because the 4 episodes of Ms. Marvel I've seen thus far are better than all 4 of those shows, if only because it stands completely on its own and has a voice that doesn't feel like the Marvel formula. At 4 episodes in, I've found countless times where I just like the completely normal characters that are Kamala's friends and family, and it feels like a show that's so much more about completely normal people than it is superheroes.

Granted, there's time for all that to change and for it to become just another Marvel show(and I hope it doesn't) but for what it is right now, I'm just really captivated by what I'm seeing on screen and I love it so much.

Also, the soundtrack has some bangers:

Michonne’s Departure

I’m sorry but this episode (S10EP13) was terrible and made no sense for michonnes character. I still have love for this show but this far in I really am getting tired of all the main character deaths/departures simply for shock value or.. just because. Idk. I didn’t like it all after how many other main people are gone but I guess that’s why it’s good this show is wrapping soon.

I was also really, really enjoying this season up until this episode and thought it felt a lot like earlier seasons.

[No Spoilers] Are the books worth reading, knowing that there may not be an ending to the series?

Hi guys,

I seen a lot of questions about starting to read books after the show, comparing etc.

My question is a bit different. I rewatched the show plenty of times and I really want to get into the book series as well.

The only thing that scares me and puts away is the fact that GRRM may as well never finish the series and release the last book.

I am afraid that it would leave a bitter sweet feeling after reading a very good but never finished seriฤ™.

Knowing that and with how the books have ended for now, are they worth reading with the knowledge that they may never get a proper ending to the series?

This is not a rant on GRRM or theories what will happen, I just wonder if the series is good and feels complete for what it is now.

Cheers in advance!

However, now we at least have official confirmation that the second season will be premiering in July, and it will likely be on July 22 since Adult Swim is doing next day on HBO Max for their originals.

[SPOILERS] most boring character on the show? most interesting character?

my first thought for most boring character was jon, as he's generally been meh to me, and that YAS QUEEN iteration towards the end was the worst of it. he's always been the marvel superhero of the show, the ultimate wish-fulfillment character.

he's not unlikeable; he never does anything really wrong, at least on the show. but that just makes for a not-very-interesting character. i did like him with ygritte, however. they had great chemistry and it was one instance in which he was breaking the rules, so to speak.

but there's also daenerys, who i loved in s1 but found dreadfully boring even during the other seasons with good writing (2-4).

it's a toss up between those two.

as for most interesting character, i've gotta think more about this, but so far, it's between littlefinger, tywin, cersei, tyrion, olenna, jaime, & melisandre. gun to head, i feel like it might be between tywin & littlefinger? not sure. what say you?

[Spoilers] Just a fun little story

I started watching Game of Thrones after the 3rd season had just finished. Like always, when I find something I love, I become obnoxiously obsessed with it. I went to a book store to buy the books and thought, “I’m just gonna pick up one of the books, skim to a random page and read a paragraph or two. Just to get a small feel of the writing style. Surely I won’t be spoiled by anything….”

Then I picked up a book, flipped to a page and read a paragraph that ended with “only the cold.” My eyes widened, I threw the book back to the shelf and walked outta there! I said to myself “Jon snow dies, Jon snow dies, Jon snow dies” all the way to the car ๐Ÿ˜‚ none of my friends who watched the show read the books either, and Any time it would come up in conversation I would Always let people know that I knew something happened to someone ๐Ÿ™ˆ it was such a hard secret to keep!

It’s crazy how badly the show messed up The Saviors arc compared to the comics.

The pacing was fine in the Comics, didn’t run too long or too short (in my opinion ofc), and then the show, even after having a whole blueprint on how to cover the exact same arc, messed it up insanely badly. I mean the pacing was god awful, the amount of filler episodes, the amount of added things for no reason (trash people), dumb decisions, all that was added by the show. I just dont get how they could’ve messed it up so bad.

[NO SPOILERS] I just read a game of thrones for 9 hours straight.....

Our power went out at 9 pm in a biiig ass thunderstorm. My phone had died almost immediately so I just had my books. I decided to get a little bit of reading then go to sleep.

That is not what happened.

I read for an hour outside in a thunderstorm with an umbrella(immaculate vibes) then when the bugs became too much I got a fluffy blanket and pillow and read for 8 more hours in the bathtub.

Why the fuck is this book that good??? I'm no stranger to binge reads. If I love a book I'll read it in massive chunks. But I didn't even know I liked the book that much. I just never stopped once.

I had seen the show already and i think it kind of helped. I didn't have to use energy to make the scenes I could half pull from the show and half pull from my own imagination which made it soooo smooth. After watching the show the first book feels like the next level. So many scenes I don't ever remember. So much more personal with the characters.

This is the type of shit I'd pull when i was 7 and a freak reader. I didn't think a book could get me like this. I adore the show but I already like the books more. Such a curious thing.

Thanks for reading :)

(I'm only on the first book so far and can already tell how angry I'll be when I finish this series)

[SPOILERS] What was the point of the white walkers?

Just watched the show and they seemed to be this huge threat throughout the show where they’d come while everyone else was fighting over the iron throne. I half expected them to come and take over Westeros and the series just end, to make the point that fighting amongst yourself is pointless when there’s other nations/beings to worry about. Which could somewhat apply to real life. But what happened is they attack winter fell(killing no main characters) and just die. The way Arya killed the night king she could’ve just done that at anytime making the white walkers completely pointless. They could be removed from the show and nothing would change from how they died. Also no fight between the night king and Jon snow? What the actual fuck? [SPOILERS] Why did Jon Snow decide to restore Greyguard?

Lord Commander Jon Snow made a decision to restore Greyguard and put Janos Slynt in charge of commanding it. This takes place after the battle of Castle Black which means the number of men in the Night's Watch have decreased dramatically. There is a reason why only three castles remain in operation on the wall and that is because of the lack of men. I know the reason Jon Snow sent Janos Slynt to Greyguard was to separate him from Aliser Thorne so they don't continue to plot against their Lord Commander. But that wasn't the main reason for rebuilding that castle since in the books Jon Snow sent another Night Brother in Slynt's stead after his beheading for refusing the command. So what reason and why was it a good idea for the Lord Commander to restore Greyguard at a time like this? Is Greyguard a smaller castle that one man can operate on their own? And after those ten builders were done restoring the castle, were they going to stay there with Janos Slynt or was he actually ordered to man that place all by himself? This time I didn't really understand Jon Snow's commanding decision, so maybe someone could elaborate for me.

[Spoilers] Could (spoiler) have conquered a fully united Westeros?

Spoiler Warning: This post is recommended for those who have watched the full series. Will contain MANY spoilers up to and through Season 7. Fundamentally however it presents an alternate timeline scenario...

spoilers below 3 2 1

Begin!

Okay so, could Daenerys have successfully invaded Westeros if it were totally united when she arrived? To make this as ideal as possible for Westeros at the time, we'll assume the following (occasionally unrealistic) things happened beforehand:

• Cersei gets outed very early on for her crimes and is executed, with the Mountain somehow dying (again) protecting her. Qyburn manages to save his own skin/hide his involvement. Margaery Tyrell never dies, and regains her spot as the de-facto power behind the Throne (aka Tommen, who also lives and is effectively controlled by her). High Sparrow is slowly, carefully, marginalized before she arrives but still feels he/the faith have influence with Tommen.

• Accordingly, the High Sparrow doesn't want Daenerys taking over, as she'd be far harder to manipulate and has dabbled too much in Eastern religious practices (ie. Dothraki) to be safe. He, and the faith, paint her as a murderous, dangerous, heretic to the common folk.

• Queen Margaery remains exceedingly popular due to her charity and PR savvy, and the common people love the Margaery-Tommen monarchy. Outside claimants are viewed by both the nobility and commoners as unwanted "sh*t disturbers" likely to start another war nobody wants.

• Olenna Tyrell has a solid grip on the small council, and no interest in helping Daenerys (as she'd rather keep her granddaughter de-facto in charge of Westeros).

• Kevan Lannister lives, and is in charge of the Westerlands and Lannister forces. He is loyal to Tommen and aligned with the Tyrells (esp Olenna).

• Reach Lords, namely Randyl Tarly, never turn on Olenna/Mace because they never back Daenerys to begin with. They remain loyal bannermen and, as on the show, are determined to keep out Danys "army of foreign savages".

• Somehow Myrcella manages to not get assassinated, and the Martells (with Doran still in the lead) remain aligned with the Iron Throne, retaining a council seat. With Tywin, Cersei, and the Mountain dead the Sand Snakes don't bother mounting a coup and remain nominally loyal to Doran.

• Sansa Stark, as Lady of Winterfell, is the real political power of the north and has the backing of the North Lords, Vale Lords (via Yohn Royce), and Tullys (who take back the Riverlands under the Blackfish). Unlike in the OG timeline however she's not an ardent separatist, and is convinced of the possibility of working with Margaery (who she trusts/remembers fondly from their time in Kings Landing) as opposed to Daenerys (who, as normal, she entirely distrusts).

• Qyburn is still contracted by the crown to produce the Scorpion ballistas for defence against the Dragons.

• Jon Snow, on Sansa's advice/urging, goes to Tommen/Margaery for an alliance against the White Walker threat first, and thus the Night King never gets a dragon or breaches the wall. That threat is contained, at least for the duration of the conflict. Jon and Dany never become a thing.

• Euron Greyjoy still backs the crown, if for no other reason than that Yara went to Daenerys first, and he wants his niece and nephew very dead rather than plotting to take back the Iron Islands.

With all that covered, could Daenerys succeed under those circumstances? Are the Dragons, Unsullied, and Dothraki enough to overcome the armies and fleets of the Crown, the Reach, the Westerlands, Dorne, the Vale, the Riverlands, the Iron Islands, and the North together... even with the commonfolk and faithful ardently opposed to the invasion?

I've heard the Dragons described as being tantamount to a cheat code in a video game a lot, so I'm curious. Given the worst possible circumstances that could've politically existed at the time, would that "cheat code" have been enough? In other words, was Dany's conquest inevitable the moment she decided to cross the Narrow Sea?

[Spoilers] I just finished season 8

I know people have probably said the exact same things I'm about to but I just finished season 8 and Im really annoyed. I got really invested into this show and until season 7 it was amazing. It really dulled during season 7 but the anticipation of season 8 made it still watchable. Then I saw that there were only 6 episodes, wtf. I thought there was no way they could fit everything in 6 episodes and I was right. Everything was so rushed Dany and Jon's relation just was shown enough , Jon being Aegon didn't have much relevance in the long run apart from petty squabbling. Dany's death had already been spoiled for me but it just felt meaningless like this was some final draft or alternate event. I would say the endings are great for most characters apart from Jon but they got to them is just terrible, This whole season should of been for the night king and Jon and Dany's relationship. I'm just really mad not about what happened but what could of happened. I've even read that HBO offered to add more seasons but the writers refused what the actual fuck. I always thought HBO ruined it or something. Idk im just really pissed right now.

I know I am too late with my thoughts about 11th season

I am starting to understand and really love Rosita and Aaron. I adore Rosita’s arc with Judith and Aaron’s development, but their rising of the screen time can mean a horrible future for them. you know, when a character get more screen time, it often means that he is gonna die. I know that there are lots of gossips about their death, but I don’t want to believe in it. besides, they are really interesting characters, and TWD doesn’t have lots of them. fucking AMC spoiled us that Carol, Daryl, Maggie and Negan are gonna survive, I think they were wrong to tell us about it. the final is gonna be predictable I guess. what do you think about the future of all these characters?

[NO SPOILERS] How it should have ended.

After the first episode of season 8, no. 2son floated a theory regarding one of the characters. We had a back and forth about the show and the direction it seemed to be taking and in the end I eventually came up with how Game of Thrones would end, if I was the writer.

Strap yourself in, it could get a bit bumpy.

Imaginary spoiler alert ahead.

Jon Snow (A.K.A Aegon Targaryen 6th of his name) and Auntie Daenerys take their whole host, including the Lannister army (which consists of Jaime), North to do battle with the King of Cool (No, not Jean Reno) and after quite a lot of having at it, claim a glorious victory.

Jean Reno (Ok, it should be him) is destroyed, as is his entire army of white walkers, after his recently acquired fire breathing white flyer caught sight of mummy (She’s not called The Mother of Dragons for nothing) and turned away from the dark side, but the price was heavy. Many are dead including Tyrion Lannister, who seriously misread the depth of a puddle and froze to death, and Beric Dondarrion.

Not having time to mourn their dead, the former King of the North and auntie Sweetheart turn their host to face the threat (Cersei’s recently hired Golden army and the rest of The Casterley Rock Crew) that is now approaching them from Kings Landing.

After much planning, battle is joined and after a lot of firebreathing from the two remaining Dragons, victory on this second battlefield is reached and the host continues to march on Kings Landing to either get Cersei to bend the knee or part her from her head. Either option is deemed acceptable.

They arrive at Kings Landing and the last battle is fought inside The Red Keep. It is ultimately quashed but this time the price is devastating.

Jon Snow is despatched in single combat by the Zombie Mountain, who in turn is killed by his brother, the non zombie Hound.

Daenerys Targaryen is killed when one of her dragons is shot out from underneath her and falls out of the sky, crushing her to death rather messily.

Jaime Lannister is trying to talk his sister into bending the knee, and as soon as he drops his guard she pulls a knife and steels herself to stab him to death. As she is about to make her move the non zombie Hound leaps out from behind a pillar and batters her to death with the still impressively solid corpse of Tyrion Lannister.

Jaime Lannister, sick with grief at the untimely end of his sister/love kills the Hound and storms outside to have a big cry.

As he emerges into the daylight one of the dragons , into which Bran has warged, turns him into a pillar of flame. Apparently Bran is still harbouring a small amount of resentment for being thrown out of a window.

After the final victory the people of the seven kingdoms gather for the coronation of their new regent.

Given the heavy toll the battles took the pickings were exceedingly thin. Made thinner by Sansa meeting a grizzly end in Winterfell at the hands of an unknown assassin and Bran disappearing, doubtless moving into a tree root lined cave to live out the rest of his days as a three eyed raven.

The only candidate left is Arya Stark, so it’s she who is crowned Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and much celebrating is done.

After a full day of drinking and partying the new queen excuses herself to make her way to her new chambers, passing Brienne of Tarth and Tormund Giantsbane walking hand in hand towards the nearest empty room, giggling like giddy teenagers.

She ascends the stairs and finally, once inside allows herself to relax, sitting for several minutes rubbing her eyes.

Finally, as the closing music is just starting to play she scratches at her cheek before pulling off her face to reveal Jaqen H'ghar the faceless man, who looks knowingly at the camera with just the hint of a cheeky grin on his face.

Credits roll.

The end.

[SPOILERS] Second Rewatch: The Long Night

I’m on my second rewatch of GOT after watching it for the first time about a month ago. I’m also about halfway done with the first book! As many complaints/debates there are about the last season or last few, my one question is this. Did we ever get an explanation as to why, in the Long Night, like half of the army is standing outside the castle walls??? Like it just seems like common sense that they’ll be safer behind the walls. Also the whole “they’ll be safe in the crypts” thing, I know has been made fun of so many times, so I’ve accepted that was just a slip of the writers. But the armies outside the walls??? Cannot let it slide.
