Who is the TSDF Source?

I’ve been reading all of TSDF’s Q&A’s for years now and I’ve always wondered who is the source? A cast member? (Unlikely) A crew member? An outside source? I’ve also wondered how the walking dead hasn’t cracked down on this by now too. What are your guys theories?

[NO SPOILERS] HBO should show the penultimate and final epidoses of Game of Thrones in theaters

This is likely not feasible given that HBO is being more cautious about leaks. But if it was at all possible, it would be EPIC to have the option of seeing the final two episodes of GoT in theaters. Potentially could generate a lot of revenue for HBO given that a lot of ticket sales would come from people who would likely otherwise be using a friend's HBO account or pirating the show. Obviously would still have to distribute the episodes through the normal methods too, but personally I would choose big screen over small for ending this series.

edit: "episodes" are very different than "epi-doses" but hope you all still follow me

In Praise of Netflix’s Mindhunter

What a show. Binged it in two days on Netflix and loved it. It tells the story of how the FBI learned to study and “profile” serial killers in the 1970s, and features scenes based on actual interviews with various real-life killers of the era. David Fincher is a producer and directed four episodes in the first season. Very reminiscent of his movie Zodiac as well as films like se7en and Michael Mann’s Manhunter. Also, if you’re a Criminal Minds fan then you’ll be interested to see how the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit came to be.

The cinematography is dark and gorgeous. The acting is mostly top notch (especially the actors who play the various killers), the writing is compelling, and the soundtrack is killer. Besides telling a true story about the FBI, the show offers an interesting character study in the lead character Holden Ford played by Jonathan Groff. Without giving anything away, it’s squeamish to watch him form relationships with the various cases (and killers) that end up affecting his work, his love life, and his psyche. Highly recommended.

I don’t understand what triggered him (Chuck) to go back to being crazy when it comes to electricity, in S3E10, Jimmy comes in to talk of his regrets, and Chuck just does not seem to care, but once Jimmy leaves, later that night, he just starts to lose it, and i don’t understand.

Questions about Gimple's sins, Kang's potential, etc

Relatively new here, haven't read the comics, just wanted to ask a few questions and see if any of my feelings were shared. The show has had genuinely impressive peaks, some of my favourite television, and disappointingly boring lows, and currently seems to be in it's Great Depression. So, question time:

  1. How much of what people don't like about the show at the moment is Gimple's fault? The isn't in defence, I just want to know if people think he's solely/mostly to blame or if people think the show's been getting worse since before his reign, and if so, since what point?

  2. Given that she's responsible for two of my favourite moments in the show, two of its highest points, being throat rip vs child rape and "You mean me?", I think I would have been really excited about Kang showrunning TWD had it not become such a bloated, predictable mess. I imagine it'll improve but never hit those bullseyes again. Does anyone else feel the same way? Does anyone think Kang can actually save the show? Or that she'll make no difference at all?

  3. Sort of building on the above, I can imagine Carl's death being handled better a few seasons ago, a tragic shock, a hole left in his absence, the emotional effects rippling through the group, perhaps it'd be a catalyst for Rick getting severely depressed and giving up, or sending him into madness, like we saw but for different reasons and whatnot. I'm interested to see what you lot think, anyone share this view? I understand that it'll have all sorts of future consequences due to the (serious) divergence the comic storylines, and I definitely didn't want to see him go, but when it happened my immediate thought was that it might have been good a few seasons ago..

Thanks in advance for any and all answers guys.

S4 Ep9 Bug

I'm on my first rewatch of the show. I'm watching it with my dad (his first time). I just finished the Bug episode (as stated in the title). At the end scene Walt and Jesse get into a huge fight. This was really hard for me to watch. Not just because it's really violent and bloody/gruesome but when I was watching it I remembered Walt and Jesse's relationship over the past four seasons. They've had their differences but they started out as partners and been through all that crazy stuff together. Also hard to watch knowing what happens in the future/how it ends.

Idk why I just felt the need to post this here. Idk if anyone thinks the same way

Since Better Call Saul is on Netflix, I've been thinking of revisiting the show. I started season 1 awhile ago, but I didn't like the relationship between Jimmy and Kim. It felt forced and I stopped watching.

I checked imdb and the actress who plays Kim is in 30 episodes. Does their relationship get interesting or does it drag?

Really Rick?

Now, this is kind of an older episode, but I keep going back to it because its just so weird to me.

Disclaimer: I don't care if this gets downvoted, this is just bugging me.

So basically in the first half of season 8, we see Rick, and the Hilltop and the Kingdom fighting back, which is pretty damn sweet, but somewhere near the end of Season 8A, we see Rick returning to the trash people.

Why? WHY. Okay, I totally get the part where they were running low on dudes to fight Negan because the kingdom kinda got slaughtered, but WHY the trash people?!

First off, Rick, ever since season 3, you've had trouble trusting people, now all of a sudden, you're willing to trust a bunch of people who SHOT you, almost killed you, and have a track record of betraying you.

I mean, every time I see him in a scene with Jadis, I don't see Rick Grimes at all. His personality goes almost complete 180 because for some reason, trash people get a second chance. -.-

/end rant

Yeah anyway, that's my only gripe with season 8 so far. I see nothing wrong with killing off a plot essential character post-negan whatsoever. >.>

What's a television show that you legitimately feel is underappreciated and deserves more attention?

Maybe it's something that not a lot of people have heard of, or maybe they have but no one wants to get into it because it has a low budget or is slow to build. Maybe the show is over and is from an older time and you want to bring attention back to it. My ideas for this would be the Man in the High Castle and Six Feet Under just for examples

"Game of Thrones" composer Ramin Djawadi deserves to win an Emmy already.

One thing we can all agree with is that the score in Game of Thrones is really phenomenal. Djawadi's incorporation of leitmotif for the medieval fantasy series is nothing below great. This is why I am so shocked when I found out that he hasn't won any Emmy awards yet. For me, it is really a travesty. He wasn't even nominated for the opening music of Game of Thrones when it was eligible for Outstanding Main Title Music, and for the Light of the Seven that was featured in The Winds of Winter episode (the piano piece on Cersei's trial). What the hell Emmy Awards? Djawadi deserves some recognition for his contribution in television music.

Simon is a one-note character

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't understand all of the Simon love here. He's not an interesting bad guy to me, no layers, no complexity - just a total dick all the time. The governor was an interesting bad guy. The cannibals were sneaky and creepy. Merle was not a big threat, but he was trouble and a whole lot of fun every time he was on screen. But Simon kinda bores me. He's OK. I don't hate the character. But I just don't why get the character gets so much praise. I have enjoyed some of his menacing scenes, but mostly I shrug at the relentless dickishness. I liked him better earlier on, but by this time, it's just old - no real development or layers like we got w/ the governor. All that's changed is that he's challenging Negan a bit, but we still don't know anything more about him than he's an enforcer. The actor is good, so it would be interesting to see more back story or get inside his head a bit. As it stands now though the I'm not feeling the Simon love.

If you were to do ONE thing differently on the show, What would you have done?

Personally, I'd have had Rick throw Shane out of the group, Leave him behind (Season 2, after they had that fight), And I would have brought Shane back in during season 8, when Morales was brought in, and have Shane come to the conclusion that "Oh shit- This is THE Rick?" and have him realize Rick has finally snapped.

I'd have Rick probably bring him back as a Prisoner too.

I don't know. What would you guys have done differently on the show?

Just finished the show

What a ride! My girlfriend and I had binge watched into the early AM, it feels like I've said goodbye to family with this show.

By far our favourite episode this season was Ozymandias which was just a complete shit show of emotions, seeing Gomez laying there at the start was a surprising heartache and following it up with Hanks execution had both of us sat there with our mouths open like FACK! I could be wrong but the position Walt lays in when he's crying at Hanks death seemed very similar to Gustavos' position and face during his partners death.

The show ends well, you really feel the impact of what Walt has done to all of the people in his life and I'd love to float around this shows world and see where they ended up. Watching Jessie and Walt evolve was insane and it's crazy how much of Jessies' life is ruined through Walt.

I really hope every person involved in the show is aware of what incredible art they've produced with Breaking Bad. If anyone's still got the passion for the show I'd love to read your favourite moments and thoughts, been desperate to discuss with fans since I started watching!

[SPOILERS] Who sent the Catspaw assassin?

Had it not been for this murder attempt and Littlefinger's lie about the identity of the owner of the Valyrian Dagger (which Baelish had really lost to Robert and not Tyrion), the conflict between Starks & Lannisters may have been harder to spark.

In the books, Jaime says it was Joffrey that gave the order, maybe "to impress Robert", he had thought. But Joffrey didn't show any interest in Bran in all of his time at Winterfell. He may have wanted to kill Summer, Bran's howling direwolf, once or twice, but he never cared for Bran. And if murdering Bran was a mean to impress Robert like Jaime had thought, it would have been counterproductive. Telling Robert you have murdered his best friend's son couldn't possibly result in him being proud of you. Even Joffrey knew that. And if Joffrey did not plan on telling Robert, then there was no point in doing it in the first place.

On the other hand, it could not have been any other Lannister as Bran was guarded day and night. Any attempt against his life would have been noticed. And if Cersei had wanted him dead, she'd have poisoned him or used a better stratagem than hiring a middle aged man, past his prime, and hoping he would single-handedly assassinate one of the most powerful little lords in the North.

Like the Order of the Green Hand stated (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z22hStz-oLs), the Lannisters left Winterfell two weeks prior to the event. Had it been them, the Cat's paw would have been paid before their departure. But once in possession of the gold, since there was no way the Lannisters would track a random like him in the North, he would have simply ran away with the valuable dagger & the money after a week or two. Why risk his life trying to kill the son of the mightiest Lord in the North, when he had already been paid?

And if the real intention was to get rid of Bran, why hire a middle-aged local that even struggled against the unarmed Catelyn? A man that looked more like a random farmer wanting to make an extra buck than anything resembling a skilled assassin, fit to kill a Lord.

Furthermore, when he entered Bran's chambers and ran into Catelyn, the assassin said: "You weren't supposed to be here. No one was supposed to be here". Everybody in Winterfell knew Catelyn had not left Bran's side in weeks. So this means the assassin had been ensured by an employer he had thought knowledgeable enough, to have given him up to date information.

The catspaw assassin had been deceived. As it clearly looks like his employer's intentions were never to kill Bran, but to frame the Lannisters for a murder attempt.

So it must have been someone who wanted to turn the Wolves vs the Lions and frame the Lannisters. Someone that a middle-aged assassin from the North would trust to know when Bran would be vulnerable and alone. Someone that would have discretely started a fire in Winterfell, while providing the Cat's paw with the Valyrian steel dagger as prepayment and assuring the man he wouldn't meet anyone by Bran's side (which was a blatant lie as every one knew Catelyn and the Direwolf had not left Bran).

Once you take away the Starks and Theon from the equation, there is only one strong candidate left, the traitorous Maester Luwin.

He was one of the few an outsider would reasonably trust to possess accurate information regarding Bran's status. He would have known exactly where to go to hire the right man for the job. He was the only one who could have sent information to King's Landing and plot the framing of the Lannisters (Master of Ravens is a key position for a spy).

And if you pay close attention to this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFLo7gef6Gs&t=65s (1:05 - 1:50), this could have happened:

  • Luwin went in Bran's chambers to talk to Catelyn;
  • Right after he left, he told the Cat's paw "The way is clear. No one is by Bran's side";
  • Then, he then started a fire very shortly after leaving Rob and Cat talking;
  • At which point the assassin went in the room as he had been advised.
  • However, to make sure the Cat's paw would not kill Bran, he immediately sent Summer after him to protect Catelyn.

Isn't the timing of this series of events insanely suspicious?

Why would he have done it then? For the same reason Maester Luwin had previously plotted to send Jon Snow to the Wall. Because he is one of the corrupted Maesters, working hand to hand with Littlefinger to turn Starks vs. Lannisters and plunge the 7 Kingdoms into Chaos.

In short, Maester Luwin is the corrupted traitor than sent the Catspaw assassin. All to frame the Lannisters for an attempted murder on Bran.

Was Huel gay?

I think the writers may have left this open to debate somehow in order to be inclusive to a more diverse audience. The show does have the unfortunate flashes of hatred and bullying but does seem to embrace the tolerance of progressive lifestyles. Straight characters such as Gus dominate the series. On the other hand, Huel, as a conflicted victim of Saul's oppression in S4 may have had a transgendered episode that revealed his inner self as someone that he wanted to become on the outside. Rather than an anomaly in character, this could be characterized as a badge of honor to some viewers.

[Spoilers] How do we feel about the tarly's in season 7?

They had a choice; switch sides or burn, and they chose their fate. Tyrion says she should have thrown them in a cell for a while first, which might have been a better political move. However, it doesn't mean that she is following in her father's footsteps. Brandon and Rickard Stark had no choice, while Dany gave the commander of the enemy troops (who really shouldn't be captured like that but whatever) a chance to survive. This is war, and she showed mercy. If the Tarly's are too proud to surrender after losing, then they deserve to die.

I’m too tired to write the little details but basically the prophecy Cersei gets from the witch when she was young says how she will have three children and they will all die before her and gold will be their shrouds. So since Cersei is preggers rn I thought she would die in childbirth or she will have a miscarriage so as to not deviate from the prophecy, but someone pointed out to me that the prophecy is already not true because of Cersei’s child with Robert that died as an infant. Do you think this will matter at all or am I reading too much into this and need to go to sleep (it’s 1:30 A.M. for me rn)?

[SPOILERS] Theory regarding Cersei in S8

In Season 5, Episode 1, it starts off with a prologue scene of Cersei and her friend, Melara Hetherspoon running in the woods somewhere within the Westerlands. They come across a woods witch, Maggy, where Cersei demands the witch to give her information on whether or not she will be queen. Cersei's third question is if she and the King will have children. Maggy's response is that the King would have 20 but Cersei would only have 3, who will all die before she does.

From this, you can deduce that Cersei will die sometime within Season 8, considering she is currently pregnant with a 4th child, whether or not it be from Daenerys, or Jon, after they, presumably, defeat the Night King, or if the Night King will make it to King's Landing and there is a final defense for the side of the living, or if she will die in some other way.

The possibilities are endless on how the great show runners will decide to end her, but it is definitely going to happen within the season.

To be honest, good riddance.

More Spin Offs

Sorry if this is considered unrelated but I didn't know where else to ask. Would anyone else love to see a Cartel spin off? I want to see more of Don Eladio, and especially more of Hector. Hector Salamanca to me is such an interesting character, and he is a brilliant actor, to the point where he genuinely feels intimidating, but we get to see so little of him in action, I know it would be difficult to do given the ageing factor, but Id love a series that followed those two as well as Gus and Max Arciniega, it would follow the setting up of Los Pollos Hermanos and building it to what we knew it as, and general ins and outs of the Cartel, do you think theres any chance of us getting more spin offs like Better Call Saul?

Took me by surprise, they're trading with a "Chinese" woman in the mexican mall, they tell her something that pleasantly surprises her and she replies in that tone of voice while uttering some sort of expression in Chinese. Except what she actually says is Cao ni zuzong shi ba dai, which means fuck the last 18 generations of your family.

Rick, The Five Stages of Grief, and the Finale.

So, to my surprise, the show has done a great job with Rick’s “denial” phase by mixing it a bit with the “anger” phase, and creating the image of a guy trying to hold it together by keeping himself going, even if for the wrong reasons. I’m sure some people would be better equipped to describe the “bargaining” aspect. But I think we will finally see the “depression” phase as the season ends, which we have seen in the flash forwards since the beginning of the season. “Acceptance” will probably accompany, or be an obvious statement made early in S9.

Anyways, the Finale. I think Rick will ultimately finally read the letter from Carl. “My mercy prevailed over my wrath” will obviously be a quote within, and I think it will bring everybody a bit of closure to go along with however everything plays out. Maybe they’ll even combine his breakdown/depression with his acceptance in that moment we’ve been seeing. I’m just glad the show has decided to take this route instead of strictly focusing on the rage/uncontrolled emotions aspects they have in the past.

I didn’t go into “bargaining” as I’m not sure how this would play out. If you have any ideas, or think they’ve already happened, I’d love to read them. Thanks!

"ScoobyNatural" proves that not only can an adult-focused Scooby-Doo show work, it would be a well-animated and possibly engrossing show to watch

The franchise is always kid-oriented because the premise is one of the most ridiculous that gained popularity: four young adults (or high schoolers/college-aged students) drive around solving mysteries with a talking dog.

They did have one darker franchise, Mystery Inc., that basically mixed the show's premise with Twin Peaks, The X-Files, Lovecraft and was overall a huge deconstruction of the general premise. From what I've seen of it, it's very violent but received constant pushback because of its dark themes.

"ScoobyNatural" is what would happen if you took these over-the-top characters, woke them up to a "reality" that monsters are real and they actively hunt them down while cracking jokes along the way. Basically, the general premise to "Supernatural." Being animated, they could get away with much crazier premises that Mystery Inc. had done before like Scooby as Robocop. The animation team behind that show, "ScoobyNatural" and most Scooby shows is very talented with pleasing designs and very little off-model drawings. They could get away with gore, the occasional crude joke and heavier plots.

Their comedy wouldn't also be limited to what their actors could do like in "Supernatural." Shaggy could still eat ginormous sandwiches, Fred can be obsessed with traps and Velma can keep her catchphrases.

TL;DR ScoobyNatural was great, and adding its maturity to the darker plots of Mystery Inc. would make a very fun, ridiculous show.

Why there is no TSDF Q&A "yet"

So, as some of you who don't use the TSDF forum may be wondering, there is no Q&A yet.

The search is no more! Ninjapancake personally said that their "source" is very busy so they haven't got their information yet. So there will likely be no Q&A this week. If there will be one, it will be shortly before the episode airs.

Some of you might already know this, but for those who don't, now you do.

Or as ghost boi Gavin might say: "You know what it is"

[SPOILERS]will the deleted footages of season 7 ever come out?

unlike the previous seasons, they used to publish them with the bluray verison, but we already know many scenes that were cut and they were not in the DVD verison either. some of these scenes were too important like: *Jon saying goodbye to Ghost *Tyrion meets Bronn to arrange meeting with Jaime *Cersei bleeds (i can understand why they deleted that) *the most important one for me was the scene between Sansa and Bran in the finale.

So what's the deal with Howard and Kim?

Curious what people think, because I feel this is the most underrated relationship on the show. There's clearly so much more to it than Howard just being a tool to Kim. He most certainly is and nothing can excuse his actions, but there is clearly just MORE to where it's coming from.

I've observed professional relationships/mentorships before that go sour, with the mentor maybe being a bit too unfair to his/her mentee when they don't follow the exact path they want them to. Like with so many relationships on the show, the writers and actors do such a fantastic job of putting just enough on screen to allow for the most interesting of blanks for the viewer to fill in.

Favorite moment between the two of them has to be in "Chicanery", when Kim cross examines Howard and asks him who the other "H" is in HHM, and Howard gives just the faintest of smiles and says clearly, "My father." Close second is the farewell they have in Howard's office after Kim hands in her resignation letter.

Lastly, how do you think things will resolve between them? As much as people want to believe Kim is Saul's "silent partner" in the BB years, I would actually be pretty satisfied with an ending where Kim partners with Howard as a close to the Jimmy McGill years...provided they get back together during the Gene years, of course.

[SPOILERS] anyone feel like 8B is significantly better than S7/8A?

I haven’t enjoyed the show this much (aka, viewing it as above average and very decent) since Season 6B, and to see the difference in writing/action from 8A to 8B is frankly staggering. Out of all the 8A episodes, only two are rewatchable in my eyes, with the rest being dreadfully slow and meandering - compare that to 8B, and i’d only really consider “Honor” to be the weak link so far, every episode has built upon the last and progressed the storyline, and there’s also been some great set-pieces (even though most are unrealistic) - the action seems better now too, and the dialogue. I can’t really put my finger on it - but the show does seem a lot better, and it feels like it’s getting good again. Refreshing.

EDIT: For some context and for comparison (rating S8).

1 - 8/10 2 - 6/10 3 - 6/10 4 - 8/10 5 - 5/10 6 - 4/10 7 - 4/10 8 - 5/10

9 - 6/10 10 - 8/10 11 - 7/10 12 - 9/10 13 - 8/10

[SPOILERS] Why hasn't there been widespread condemnation of Cersei's action?

According to Tyrion, Jaime Lannister finally decided to kill Aerys Targaryen during the Sack of King's Landing because he found out that Aerys had stashed a massive amount of wildfire underneath the Sept. So despite years of madness and cruelty, this singular plot was enough to convince Jaime to stab Aerys in the back to prevent the death of civilians. I'd imagine that was also the reason why Robert Baratheon kept Jaime in the Kingsguard.

In S06E10, Cersei Lannister ordered for the wildfire to be ignited, and thus, killed thousands (?) of innocents. One could argue that Jamie's love for her prevented him from speaking out, but what about everyone else? It seems that no one has said anything about the mass murder, and Cersei's infamy remained at a similar level.

In fact, in season 7, Daenerys and Jon Snow were even willing to enter into negotiations with Cersei for a truce. Even Randyll Tarly, who spoke about not being oathbreakers and backstabbers, didn't mention this when pledging fealty to Cersei and House Lannister.

So, why is everyone giving Cersei a pass, including her allies?

Wow. I didn't expect Howard Hamlin to be giving me a pep-talk. Minor spoilers S3.

Catching up on Season 3 and am in the middle of "Off Brand". I spent my day ruminating on how a chronic disease has been fucking up my life. I just heard Howard give Chuck a hell of a pep-talk. For those who can't remember.

"Chuck, you're at a crossroads. You can keep looking backwards, stay focused on your brother, what he's up to, or you can go forward. And, Chuck, listen to me Jimmy's just not worth it. Where would we be if say, Clarence Darrow had devoted the best years of his life to supervising his ne'er-do-well relatives? Think of the cases he wouldn't have taken, the injustices that would have gone unanswered. What a waste. I say put your energy into the future."

If I know this show, it's going to lead back to a bunch of characters I like being wounded, but for now, it might be the kick in the ass I need. Thanks Howard.

Honestly, the writers are just throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks and I'm not even mad because we get to see a gang of teenage girls chased through tunnels by crazy Gay converting nuns, biker gang teenagers breaking down doors and Archie become a Terrorist all in one episode.

Unlike most of these teen soaps when it's bad at least it's ridiculous and bad not just dull.

Why is everyone saying that negan is not a bad guy?

I keep seeing people argue that negan is not at all a bad person, that he only wants to protect his men and that rick has to pay blablabla and that ultimately he shouldnt die.

I think jdm plays his role too good because people started liking negan. Lets actually think about this:

-he brutally killes a husband infront of her wife and laughed about it

-he imprisoned daryl and treated him worse than a dog

-he is psychologically trying to toture rick by threatening to kill his son. Also he "feels sad for carls death" and "he was the future ;(" yet a couple season earlier he literally was about to kill him.

-he is forcing people to work for him and he does not care about their well being at all. He cares only about the ressources.

-he is making an environment where in order to live normally you have to work for him or fuck him

... And many more

I know you all like jdms performance, but please, dont pretend negan is a good guy or something, its annoying because it seems like your inner fangirl is clouding your judgement.

[Spoilers] Arya and Cersei

Does anyone know why Cersei is on Arya's list? Was it because of her ordering Lady to die in season 1? A lot of people fell off Arya's list but not Cersei. I couldn't put my finger on the main reason though (Cersei tried to stop Joffrey killing Ned so it cant be that).

A year ago I found the Top 10 TV subreddits with the most subs. Here is the 2nd annual list!

Here is the original post from last year. This year's list had some obvious rankings changes and a few surprises. Here it is:

1) Game of Thrones - 1,268,000 (no change)

2) Rick and Morty - 750,000 (no change)

3) The Office (US) - 481,000 (+5)

4) The Walking Dead - 452,000 (-1)

5) Westworld - 358,000 (+1)

6) Breaking Bad - 353,000 (-1)

7) It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - 330,570 (+2)

8) South Park - 330,500 (-1)

9) Stranger Things - 306,000 (+9)

10) Doctor Who - 294,000 (-6)

  • As you can tell from the list, the biggest climber was Stranger Things, who was #18 last year and has found it's way into the Top 10 after another really solid season.

  • The steepest fall was Doctor Who, who fell from #4 in last year's ranking to barely staying in the Top 10 at #10.

  • The biggest subscriber increase was Game of Thrones, who had a massive 425,000 sub increase primarily due to the wildly popular (yet divisive) Season 7.

  • The weakest subscriber increase was again Doctor Who, who only gained 40,000 subs.

Just missing the Top 10 include:

  • Futurama - 291,000

  • Parks and Recreation - 240,000

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender - 223,000

  • The Simpsons - 203,000

  • Archer - 194,000

If there are any mistakes, please let me know and I'll fix it! Thanks

Possible explanation for why no one heard the walker fall down the stairs.

All of those people were on some good pain killers to help dull the pain from their wounds? Possibly even drunk too? Perhaps to celebrate their victory over the Saviors?

It's not explained at all by the show, but it could be a plausible explanation. And it still doesn't excuse that fact that someone should have stayed up and kept watch over the wounded.

[SPOILERS] Theory: Who is Night King?

Night King, like the Three eyed Raven can see the past, present and the future. After the wall was built and the white walkers were sent to oblivion & thwarted beyond the wall, Night King might have foreseen the future about the fight of the frozen lake and how he acquired the dragon and used it to make his way past the Wall. He would have known about all the people who took part in that fight (Jon, Beric, Hound, Thoros etc) and might have been influencing their life directly or indirectly by sending visions in the fire. Now, Night King also took the pain of raising the above people from their death to fulfill what he has forseen(He has a dead army and cleary has the power to raise the dead). Beric, Melisandre and other red priests clearly would have mistaken this as some spiritual magic and on many occasions they metion that no body knows what the Lord of light wants. He just wants to get his things done.

So, if this is true, Night King is the song of Ice and Fire and everyone was dancing to his tune and when the Night King dies, Jon snow dies as well.

This could be a foreshadowing. In Season 7 Episode 6 of the TV show at the battle of the frozen lake:

Beric points his sword towards the Night King and says that there is one another way to end this mess. * Jon : You don't understand. * Beric : The lord brought you back and he brought me back. No one else just us. Did he do it to watch us freeze to death? * Hound: Careful Beric, You lost your priest. This is your last life. * Beric: I've been waiting for the end for a long time. May be the lord brought me here to find it. * Hound: Every lord I've ever met has been a cunt. Don't see why the lord of light should be any different. The camera pans and zooms towards the Night King.

Your thoughts?

Hello, I stopped watching TWD a few years ago (3 or so) but after reading the first comics (a friend lended it to me) I want to watch the tv show again. I'll tell you the last things I remember.

-The governor attacking the prison with a huge battle and a tank or something like that

-If I don't remember badly, the governor dies

-The LAST thing I remember of the show is some kind of flashback of the governor living lonely

I hope this information can bring some help, thanks!

Don't get why Kim is always upset about meeting Ernie.

Watching Season 3, I've known that Kim was acting like a dick to Ernie when he called her for what he found in Chuck's house. Like, 'Who cares about you? just tell me already what you want and go because I'm a busy alpha girl not like you, loser.' Like, Ken Wins. I've really felt that way in their conversation. Cause, Ernie sacrificed him for Jimmy, his dear friend to telling the truth. He lost his job for this issue that wouldn't have happened if he had decided to mouth shut.

Say I might understand when the first time Ernie called because she didn't know what was happening. But second time when he was going to tell her Jimmy got detained? that's different. she already knew what was going on. But she kept whining and acted like a bitch. Don't get me wrong. I don't despise her, just point that the conversation between them was unnatural and uncommon.

[spoilers] Is Widow's Wail Lightbringer?

Currently reading Storm of Swords and when Joffrey receives Widow's Wail he says he's going to destroy Stannis's magic weapon with it. I think it's teasing us because that last thing in the world we would guess is that Lightbringer is actually Joffrey' weapon and assuming the books follow the show and Jaime starts weilding the sword it's seems destined he is going to kill Cersei with it and isn't that how Lightbringer is made? When Azor stabs his love in the heart? I'm hoping it turns out this way. It would be awesome if Jaime literally goes from the baddest villain and turns into the hero.

[Spoilers] I know a killer. A REAL killer....

Arya Stark: I know a killer. A real killer.

The Hound: That so?

Arya Stark: You'd be like a kitten to him. He'd kill you with his little finger.

  • Arya is obviously talking about Yoren or Jaquen here, but I almost think they secretly wrote "He'd kill you with his LITTLE FINGER" referencing Lord Belish AKA: Little Finger. Just a sneaky way of letting us know by the choice of words "little finger". Why else say that. Like I said Arya is not talking about LF but the writers want us to know who the real evil is by using the wording.

  • After all he is one of the most evil characters in the show. Even though he hasn't physically killed many, his schemes and motives have gotten many people killed without him being detected. That's a real killer hiding in plain sight.

  • Kind of like the quote a fan noticed in the book about the hound saying "Bloody Wedding" referencing the Red Wedding. The hound didn't mean it that way but on re-read you can interpret it like a sneaky shadowing. Just a nice little creative tid bits the writers include to make you think.

It's hard to explain but you get what I mean.

I think of the Cohen brothers when watching the intro, near the end, is it just me?

So there is a point near the end of the intro where there is Carbon/Hydrogen/Nitrogen displayed, as C H N, I kind of was under the assumption that this was an obvious homage to the Cohen brothers given the highly similar style of writing/directing that Gilligan has with them.

I thought this since I first watched the show, and on my 7th or 8th rewatch now I brought it up to my friend who also watches the show, and he said he never "noticed" it.

So I guess my question is, does anyone else see this or am I just making some weird association that isn't present?

I mean you can't deny how similar Gilligan/Cohen brothers' styles are, the content seems appropriate here as well. Well you could theoretically deny it, but you couldn't back it up.

Thoughts?

Edit: Here is a picture of the scene I am referring to, I found it on Google.

Edit: For some reason my initial post was removed because of an oddly specific word choice.

Is 3B anyone else's favorite stretch of episodes out of both shows?

I just got done binge-watching Season 3B last night and it's easily my favorite half-season of both shows combined. Be it because of the character arcs, the emotional/depth of the storytelling (especially in 'Brothers Keeper' and 'This Land is Your Land') or just the locations themselves (El Bazar is such a fascinating setting and I hope we return to it).

Just finished Better Call Saul Season 3 Spoilers

Dear lord, I am depressed after that season. Especially with Chuck's fate, at the very end. So now we got the nail in the coffin for Jimmy McGill. The final end to the trickster trying to be the hero from the very beginning. That final conversation where Chuck says he would respect him more if Jimmy was just honest with himself and shitty. Dear God. That hit me way too hard. That's the end of ole Jimmy.

Even though Jimmy eventually went out there and repaired things for that poor old lady. His brother's demise is going to be the final straw that broke the old camels back. Fantastic season great show. So many feels.

[SPOILERS] So, I need a clarification on the power balance between Joffrey, Cersei, and Ned

This is something that has always confused me. I think I understand, but I wanted to get the opinions of others!

The way that I understand it, if Robert had died but hadn't named Ned Lord Regent, then Cersei would have become the Queen Regent by default. It also seems like the Regent is the one that's supposed to rule and have the power, because the actual King (Joffrey) is considered too young to effectively rule the Seven Kingdoms. If that's the case, why does Joffrey still have any power? I get that he's technically the King, but isn't the whole point of appointing a Regent to strip him of power so that he doesn't make any stupid decisions because he's young?

And then you introduce Ned becoming the Lord Regent, which means (again, this is just my understanding. I could be wrong) that Cersei is no longer the Queen Regent. This was also before she was on the Small Council if I remember right, so why did she still have any power at all? I understand that power resides where men believe it to reside, but if we're talking on a technical level, how does this all work out?

I'm Tiya Sircar, full-time actor and part-time cheese aficionado (never met a cheese I didn't like!). I'm here to answer your burning questions. AMA!

Hi, friends! Tiya Sircar, here. You may know me better as that demon from the Bad Place with a righteous sense of entitlement. Or perhaps as a Google intern with a questionable penchant for hentai and Star Wars cosplay. If not that, maybe as your friendly, neighborhood Mandalorian who has a mild obsession with explosives and a serious flair for the dramatic.

A bit more about me: I'm an actor, dancer, and food & travel enthusiast. I love a good pun/joke though I've been told I'm not great at making either (rude!). I have a weakness for animals, dirty martinis, and online shopping. I'm pumped to be here answering your questions - ask me anything!

P.S. My new show-- Alex, Inc.-- premieres on TODAY, March 28th, on ABC at 8:30 pm EST. I sure would love for you to check it out!

Everything Chuck says about Jimmy is right. I don't get the hate.

Chuck may be an asshole at times but literally everything he's ever said about Jimmy has been right.

Imagine growing up with a brother who constantly breaks the law, steals from your parents, yet because he has charisma is forgiven for everything bad he does.

Now imagine that brother wanting to become a lawyer after all this, and cuts as many corners as possible to get himself through law school, then has the gull to ask for a job at the reputable firm you helped build.

And imagine watching your lawyer brother bend and break the law over and over again for his own gain and never getting in trouble over it until it finally bites him in the ass and you catch him in the act (record a confession).

I don't see Chuck as a bad guy at all. Jimmy taking care of his brother doesn't automatically erase everything he's done throughout his life, it doesn't make him a non-crummy lawyer.

5th time watching all the seasons & I can't believe I never noticed this

Like the title says I'm on my 5th time watching all the seasons through & I think I just picked up on something that I've never make sense of. I forget which episode but in season 1 where it's the very first "flash back" to walt when he was younger in the class room alone with that girl in the front row & she says something like all it's missing is the soul or something like that, and then walt walks up to her and says only chemistry in this class or w.e.

When I watched that part I was kinda confused cause I don't ever remember making sense of that scene and what it ment.

Then an episode or 2 later walt and skyler go to elliot's party, skyler tells them walt has lung cancer ect. Ect. Ect.

Then shortly after elliot's wife (forgot her name) calls walt and talks about the money and yadda yadda and asks walt if he's denying it cause of what happened between them.

So, that girl in the flashback is elliot's now wife correct? And I assume walt and her had a "thing" together? Is that why walt wasnt able to be apart of grey matter? Did elliot find out walt had a thing with his girl and cut him off from the project?

[Spoilers] Regarding Great Councils...

Are the Great Councils intended to be legislative committees that are supposed to inform the decisions of future issues or are they more like Kingsmoot - more of a popularity contest that applies only to the current issue at hand?

Here's the statement by Archmaester Gyldayn that bugs me to no end:

In the eyes of many, the Great Council of 101 AC thereby established an iron precedent on matters of succession: regardless of seniority, the Iron Throne of Westeros could not pass to a woman, nor through a woman to her male descendents.

The first problem here is that qualifier "In the eyes of many". If Jaehaerys had called the Great Council with the intention of it being a legislative assembly weighing in on the matter of succession law, why wouldn't that already be clear to everyone? "In the eyes of many" implies that whether or not the Council set a binding precedent is a matter of opinion or perspective. People don't go around saying "In the eyes of many, Andal law says sons before daughters" - because what Andal law says is a matter of fact, not interpretation.

The second problem is gender wasn't really raised as an issue during the Great Council of 101. All claims were regarded as valid and it was deemed that Viserys' claim, which had the advantage of proximity was better than Laenor Velaryon's claim, which relied on primogeniture. The implication being that Laenor was a close second and if Viserys hadn't existed or been a woman or been a great-grandson instead of a grandson, Laenor would've won out.

The question of whether the throne can or cannot pass to a woman or through a woman was never raised - it was simply determined that proximity is better than primogeniture.

These two things taken together seem to imply that when the council was called, it was never intended to set a binding precedent. Instead, it was about solving the issue at hand. And then the sexist society of Westeros retconned the Council's decision as legally binding when they thought it was in their interest.

I tried looking at other Great Councils to see if they made judgments that could be regarded as binding. The second set of Great Councils was about electing regents for Aegon III. These regents served their terms and were dismissed later - but this didn't set the binding precedent that any regent had to be chosen by a Great Council. Queens and Hands could still serve as regents when required without needing to call one.

The third Great Council weighed in on succession again - but once again, here they did not discuss a matter of law or succession, but they tried to figure out who was the most suitable candidate for a king. They chose Aegon, for lack of any better candidate, but whatever precedent it might've set was never invoked.

Based on this, my view would be that Great Councils are called to deal with current crises but that is where their authority stops. That using the decision made in one to justify future actions would be a self-serving retcon.

On the other hand, it would make sense for a king like Jaehaerys to think ahead and settle the matter such that not only is the current crisis averted, but any future similar crises are dealt with as well. It would make sense for him to call the council to settle the matter once and for all so that future generations don't have to keep calling one everytime a problem comes up.

Also, in a society without a written constitution or a legal code, law is often a matter of perspective. In cases where there isn't an explicit statement by the king or by whatever religious code they follow, if enough people consider something as the law, then it is to be regarded as such.

If we take this view, then yes, you can justify the Great Council setting a binding precedent.

I'm not sure which way to lean here. First I thought that option 1 seemed logical and later I leaned towards option 2 - but now I'm conflicted once again.

Is there any information or perspective I've missing here that would resolve it?

Anachronism in Season 3 Episode 10 (Blockbuster Video)

Jimmy enters the house and asks Kim "how's Relax-a-thon 2003?" So, presumably we are in 2003.

However, when Kim and Francesca were in the Blockbuster Video store earlier, we saw two DVD copies of Big Fish, which was not released on DVD until April 2004.

I was amazed at the details they went to for that store, because all the other DVDs, chronologically could/would have been in a video store in 2003 (except Big Fish of course).

Beautiful Piece of Crime Cinema

We have Godfather, Goodfellas, Heat, Scarface, On the Waterfront....

But Breaking Bad is a beautiful depiction of the crime genre. It gets so deep into the characters and why they do what they do. From Walter White to Todd Alquist, from Pilot to Ozymandias and everyone and everything in between, Breaking Bad beautifully illustrates the world of crime.

Will there ever be another true classic 46 hour show this perfect ever again?

My theory on Kim and Saul(includes spoilers)

Hey guys, so I was watching the episode where Kim was going to transfer to Schweikart( s2e7) and I noticed that she mentioned she lived in Nebraska/Kansas area before she moved to New Mexico. She also mentions that when she lived there she was going no where with her life and was in a dark place.

Anyways my theory(and it is a long shot, but would be cool to see) is that Chuck's death will put Kim and Saul's relationship in a bad place, this will some how make Kim want to go back home to Kansas/ Nebraska. Skip to modern time with Saul working at a Cinnabon in Nebraska. Kim now lives in that area and goes to Cinnabon and see's Saul, the show now shifts to showing Saul's life in modern times, and now tells the story with Kim and Saul maybe trying to become lawyers again or something cool like that.

This theory may have been already talked about, so my bad if it looks like I'm copying someone's idea. But I think it would put a cool twist on the already amazing story.

Netflix and The Removal of English Audio in Sweden

It is getting EXCEEDINGLY annoying.

Netflix are slowly starting to remove English audio and English subtitles from shows...even if they were recorded in English in the first place.

Pokemon has had English audio and subs removed from about 50% of the episodes now. Yes. I know Pokemon is not originally recorded in English...but no reason to remove English subs.

Paddington (a British movie!) has no English audio track or subtitles, which makes it unwatchable for me.

Walking Dead (until it was removed) had no English subtitles. This was especially bad as it seems the syndicated version has some weird volume mixing issues with the music and sound effects being louder than the speech, which means you basically need to watch it with subtitles or you hear shit.

Other random movies are popping up with no English audio or subtitles.

It is incredibly annoying, particularly when Netflix has been averaging 13 new shows or movies every 10 days. Not only are they trimming back content, but they are trimming back content which is actually watchable.

Who in Sweden wants to watch live action movies which have been dubbed?

I have heard that this is happening in Germany too.

The Assassination of Gianni Versace was fantastic

It seems like this season of American Crime Story has been getting a lot of criticism for being slower than the OJ case. It definitely takes its time but I think it pays off. The Versace murder was one that made headlines but didn't feel like as much of a high profile story as the OJ case. I was very young when this happened but the OJ case was sensationalized to the point where I think most people know the basic details no matter the age. I wasn't familiar with many of the details but the writing does well at laying the foundation. I think the narrative structure of this season was also quite compelling. You really get a sense of how Cunanan acted with others while humanizing his victims. The Lee Miglin story, in particular, was a really upsetting episode. And while it wasn't trying to force any political or social commentary, there's an undercurrent of wanting to being accepted.

The performances are universally excellent but Darren Criss was particularly fantastic as Cunanan. It was fascinating to watch his mind at work and interactions with other people. But he wasn't taught any other way.

As someone who knew very little about this going in, it really got me interested in reading more about it.

[SPOILERS] Most “Evil” Character - Discussion

With GoT being on a long break, and most of us probably rewatching the show to get our fill, I decided to answer a frequently asked question:

Who is the most “evil” character on GoT?

Before I start, this is likely going to be a lengthy post.

And before I get into the characters, I am going to define “evil”. An evil action is an action that is meant to harm, torture, manipulate, or even kill another person. Essentially, an evil action is an action that is intended to cause someone else misery or harm. Therefore an evil person is someone who wishes to do bad, and cause others harm, or anything that will impact them in a negative way.

A couple other differences that I am going to clear up:

There are very few pure evil characters in GoT, many characters are evil. To be considered pure evil (by me at least), a character must have NO redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Pure evil characters therefore are: Euron, Ramsay, Gregor

Evil characters include: Joffrey, Cersei, Littlefinger... etc.

And the last thing before I get into the characters:

Psychopaths/Sociopaths.

The way I (and most leading experts in the field) differentiate them is that a psychopath is a person born without a conscience, or the ability to truly emotionally connect with anyone. They are cold blooded, essentially predators. They also have reduced fear, and are easily bored. Psychopaths can not empathize with others, or feel remorse for their actions.

Sociopathy, on the other hand, stems from bad environment, neglect, or abuse. These people can still empathize, but to a much small degree than most people. They also have a conscience, but as mentioned, it is to a MUCH smaller degree.

Now, to get into the actual characters:

I think it fair to say that the characters who are obviously in this debate are:

Ramsay, Euron, Joffrey, Roose, Gregor, Littlefinger, Cersei, Night King.

Now, I am going to claim that Joffrey, Cersei, Night King are absolutely not the most evil, despite the fact that they have all committed horrible crimes, they all have, even if they are very minor, redeeming qualities.

Cersei loved her children, Joffrey loved Margaery, and was a bit of a coward, Night King we don’t know enough about, and may even be a character we know.

In my opinion, the 3 most evil characters are, Euron, Ramsay and Gregor.

Roose was more of a sociopath, someone who was willing to do anything to survive, and would betray anyone on a dime. Kind of... maybe... cared for his son/sons...?

Littlefinger was similar to Roose, an incredible manipulator, albeit a coward in the face of real danger. Definitely a sociopath, and not even the worst.

Gregor, despite having no real intelligence to speak of, is a psychopath who didn’t hesitate to burn his own brothers face, for the smallest inconvenience. He also frequently rapes, and murders people. However, it is worth noting that he does work for Cersei, but this is after being brought back, and I’m still iffy on whether or not he’s being mind controlled/just working for money... etc. Regardless, he’s still a horrible person.

Ramsay is a sexually sadistic psychopath who takes great pleasure in physically, or mentally harming others. Ramsay is without question the most sadistic human to ever set foot in Westeros.

Euron is a sadistic (not sexually sadistic) psychopath, and a malignant narcissist (an extreme force of narcissism often coupled with sadism). Euron rapes and murders his own family, and is an incredible manipulator. Euron is likely the most psychopathic person to set foot in Westeros.

Euron and Ramsay are undoubtably the two most evil characters in the show, and possibly in the history of TV. However, I believe that Euron is likely the worse of the two, despite not showing us as much as Ramsay has.

Euron isn’t a sexual sadist, so not every scene with him is going to be torture porn and him skinning people alive. However, this doesn’t mean that Euron won’t torture/rape someone, he just won’t get off while doing it. Euron is incredibly callous with his torture, and will even torture his own family without batting an eye. Euron tortures his own men, family and more, and enjoys it, but is also callous towards others suffering. Euron is also an incredible manipulator who can change his personality on a dime. But his true personality is likely the darkest one in Westeros’ history.

Ramsay, despite being horrible, is a one trick pony. Yes he tortures people in the worst ways imaginable, but so does Euron, and unlike Ramsay, Euron will also do other things that are just as horrific, if not worse, and even revels in murdering his own kin.

So in my opinion, the top 5 most evil characters in GoT go:

Euron, Ramsay, Gregor, Cersei, Roose.

That’s just my thoughts, any feedback is appreciated, feel free to let me know who you think the worst is. I can’t wait to see how the show ends, and I’m definitely interested to see what they do with Euron. I hope they didn’t introduce him too late, Pilou Asbæk is rocking it as Euron!
