I’m literally so excited for my boyfriend and also kind of jealous that he’ll get to experience it all for the first time. He has no idea what he’s in for!!

I’m literally so excited for my boyfriend and also kind of jealous that he’ll get to experience it all for the first time. He has no idea what he’s in for!!
Is anyone here keen to write a 2000 word essay on the following sociological topics?
-Cycles of abuse in contemporary America: Walt and Jesse
-Desert symbolism in television
-Greek tragedy in Breaking Bad: the fall of a ‘great’ man and Walt’s wasted potential
-Stupid geniuses: Intelligence and poor life choices combined
I have a lot of time so i’m gonna tackle one and post when finished.
Wow, what a masterpiece. Can’t wait to start Better Call Saul !

I’m watching the new episode right now-about 15 minutes in. I’ll try not to be spoiler-y, but I have to say it.... Guys, so far this is a really good episode. I was NOT expecting this at all. I like where this seems to be going. I hated the rumors that Fear and TWD were going to merge into one series but I can see it working well now. I don’t know how well characters like Travis would’ve interacted with characters like Carol or Negan. Idk if I would’ve wanted to watch that. But now? Oh absolutely....These new characters they’ve introduced feel like they could’ve been in the original series.
I have only one complaint: I have NOT yet seen even one connection to Rick or where he is. I could’ve sworn Kirkman or someone said there would be a connection between where Rick is on Fear. That’s prob on me though, I must’ve missed it. I’ll catch it on the rewatch.
Edit: Hold up, y’all. Ignore the prior paragraph and don’t miss the last 15 minutes.
I remember during Lost, they had a site called Lostpedia that had trivia/easter eggs for all of the episodes, but I can't seem to find anything on Walking Dead
How many fucking times does Walt shatter his windshield in this series? Lmao
This show is a true masterpiece. Forreal yo
Title says it really. I’m just wondering why in season 5, when Jesse decides to leave, why Walter cooks with Todd when surely he could just do it himself. Victor did a whole cook alone so surely Walt could.
Good Omens on Amazon: Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell withba crazy accent.
That is all.
My gf is finishing up the final two seasons of Game of Thrones right now, and I’m trying to convince her to watch Breaking Bad as her next show. But she doesn’t think she’s going to like it, even though I know she will. I need some help convincing her to watch the show.
I didn't see this posted yet so I thought I'd give people a heads up. All six episodes are currently available on Prime (in the States anyway), I was assuming they'd be made available at midnight so it's a pleasant surprise.
But what the heck is wrong with AMC, their promos show what I presume is the cast for the next season.
I stopped watching amid season 3. I have always intended to pick it up again, but I was finding the drip drip of week to week to be too much so I was going to wait it out a few seasons, and binge away.
I've managed to remain spoiler free. But the promo shows what looks like the cast, and characters that I remember are gone. That's not a surprise, it's expected. But don't fricking tell me who's gone in a promo (by process of elimination) that you know I'm gonna see because I'm watching MSNBC news. That's just not cool AMC. I'm thinking maybe I'm done and don't need to watch what I've missed.
Oh, look the promo is back on. 4th time in the last 20 minutes.
The SameYou charity was created with Emilia Clarke, who suffered through 2 brain aneurysms during the filming of Game of Thrones, to increase rehabilitation services after brain injury and stroke for young adults. Here is the link to the charity:
https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/justicefordaenerys
This particular donation drive was started in r/freefolk and r/asoiaf by u/Elle_Ellaria in order to thank Emilia for her excellent performance and hard work. It has met with incredible success and received a special thankyou video from Emilia herself:
I cannot find any words to better describe it than those of the original creator :
On March 21st 2019, weeks before the final season of Game of Thrones was set to air, Emilia Clarke penned a personal essay for the New Yorker. [ link here: tiny.cc/emilia ] In it, she opened up about the serious health struggles she experienced in the early stages of filming for the show, and how she fought through pain, fear and exhaustion to give her all to each performance. Her revelation came as a huge shock; to know that in season 2, while Daenerys was leading her khalasar across the bleak Red Waste and fiercely fighting for her life at the gates of Qarth, Emilia was similarly fighting for hers.
She speaks often of the inspiration and source of strength that Dany has been for her over the past ten years, and she is not alone. Emilia’s incredible Emmy-worthy acting and dedication to her character has inspired thousands and, as each season passed, we fell more and more in love with Dany. We rooted for her through trauma and hardship. We watched her triumph over her enemies and struggle with responsibility of rule. We saw her grapple between the urge for revenge, and the need for justice. And even at the very end, when things took a tragic turn for Daenerys Stormborn, Emilia still made us feel pity for the little girl who only ever wanted to return to her home.
This fundraiser began in r/freefolk, the same subreddit the now-infamous petition originated from. Since the tongue-in-cheek nature of that petition has flown over a lot of peoples' heads, to the point that it's prompted backlash from some of the cast, we wanted to show that Game of Thrones fans appreciate the hard work of the incredible cast & crew despite their constraints. Any disappointment we felt with the conclusion of the series was not in them, but rather in the potential that was lost due to the rushed pace of storytelling.
And so, as a gesture of love and support from the fandom to the entire cast & crew - but also particularly to the woman who poured her very soul into her character, who delivered passionate speeches in High Valyrian and Dothraki in between questioning her very mortality, and inspired so many of us with her resilience - I am setting up this page as a public support of her charity, SameYou.
ThankYouEmilia for bringing Daenerys to life. Thank you Lena, Nikolaj, Peter, Gwendoline, Jacob, Nathalie, Alfie, Kit, Sophie, Maisie, Isaac, Liam, Iain, Conleth, Kristofer, Pilou, Rory and the rest of the cast. Thank you to all the crew, the special effects departments and set designers, costume designers and casting, musicians and technicians, the camera crew, the stunt co-ordinators, the long list of people who've devoted themselves to giving everything they could to lift this juggernaut of a series to its lofty levels of success and attention. You all deserve to be recognised. Thank you.

Seven blessings,
You've probably sussed what this sticky comment is about, given the flood of posts on our new queue. The reason I'm posting it is because for the past couple of years, while the lead mod of r/GoT has been busy irl, I've been co-ordinating the sub.
A user on r/freefolk posted a fundraiser for SameYou, a charity supported by Emilia Clarke. It's achieved incredible success, hitting more than £60,000, and Emilia posted a video thanking everyone involved - the user, the subreddit, and people who donated - for their efforts. Here's a link to it.
I have to own up to being too caught up in other things to have realised how much of success it has been, as I should have learned, and so crossposted it here - or at least asked the user if they wanted that. The mass of posts on the sub tonight+Emilia's video have corrected my ignorance of it. If anyone on the sub was gonna be able to make that kind of decision it was me, so no matter what mods removed what posts, the blame is on me. For laziness, if nothing else. I'm sorry.
Edit to clarify: In terms of the actual posts being removed, I'm still not caught up on that - but I'm catching up
Now that I've caught up, it seems fairly obvious this is something the subreddit should be getting behind. Using the Thrones fandom to support worthy charities is exactly the positive aspect of fandom that should be promoted - a few of our contest winners this season have opted for the prize that was a donation to the International Refugee Committee, and even people opting to help a good cause with £25 made me proud, which is a drop in the sea compared to £60k and rising.
So, we'll sticky a link to the fundraiser, and the mod team will be donating £500 to the justgiving page, too.

The elephant in the room here is, obviously, the relationship between r/freefolk and r/gameofthrones. This sub's policy for as long as it's existed is to try to avoid meta drama on reddit - to the extent where the mods weren't allowed unique user flairs because we wanted to stay low-key. We always refused to take part in stuff like the black-outs, because we thought people just wanted to come here to talk Thrones. That fundamentally sets the two subreddits at odds, since part of r/freefolk's identity is being in opposition to r/gameofthrones.
As far as I can see, having tried to catch up, the first post was auto-removed due to reports, and then after some drama started up about that, posts which should have stayed up were taken down in collateral fire.
I wish I could give a neat, concise "well here's what we think of r/freefolk", but it's just not possible. To me, it's a subreddit which I went to during the season to read all the leaks, and which has an absolute minority of users who go too far, e.g. spoiling people on this sub on purpose. To mods who have been here longer, there's a lot of ugly history that frankly I don't know enough about to set out.
Every mod on this subreddit, regardless of what they think of any other sub, is here because they love this show and want fellow fans just to enjoy it a little bit more. They give up so much of their time and energy to this end, so before anyone else makes another post on the sub directing hate at them, in the spirit of charity we're promoting here, please consider not doing so. I'm not gonna call out the posts because I understand why people were annoyed at a charity link being taken down, but it breaks my heart to see some of the really vile abuse being directed at them just now when we all love the same show.
Long time lover of BB. My daughter's boyfriend is called Bradley, they've been together for about 18 months. He's finishing school in a few weeks and is probably going to get an apprenticeship with an electrician. However, I think he should become a baker, set up his own business and call it Baking Brad.
“This is my office!”
Definitely the best.
If Carol was killed of instead of T-Dog do you think he would have lasted as long as Carol Has? or would he have just been killed off 2 Seasons later. It would have been cool to see T-Dogs reaction to all out war, Negan killing Glenn and Abraham (If he was in the line up) his reaction to Ricks disappearance, etc. What do you guys think?
That... was... fucking AMAZING! The entire show was just perfect, I'd recommend to anyone!
Do you agree? (If not, why?)
If they put the same budget the same level of quality writing the same level of actors it would be a good show .. But with fear the budget is obviously much lower. Morgan made the show a lot worse also. I'm not sticking around to see them ruin Dwight too.
I gave that show 4 seasons. But it failed. The new season starts Sunday.. Do people even Care? There's 0 hype.
Also can they not afford full color cameras anymore? The gray looks awful
Im thinking about the new season 10 trailer we will get in 2 months.. There will probably be massive hype because this show is very high quality and really great.
Also wtf why do I have to go thru that captcha every time I post a topic? I hit the squares that have a traffic light or fire hydrant etc.. What if a square has a tiny bit of the traffic light does that count? I've tried so many different ways and I have to go thru at least 3 every time. It makes reddit not enjoyable to post on. They do it so the hackers can't post I guess?

Before you downvote I beg you hear me out.
She’d been with Glenn a long time and they grew to be inseparable. After Glenn died, I was afraid Maggie may convert into a sorrowful and depressed character like Sasha did. Damn was I wrong. She developed into a strong, independent, cold-blooded leader at hilltop which really made her character far more interesting. I’ve always liked Maggie but she had never been among my favorite characters on the show; in season 8 she was hands down my favorite character due to her expansive development. That’s when I realized that this development would have most likely not occurred had Glenn lived, she would probably still lead hilltop but she wouldn’t be as imposing and menacing as she was in season 8. Im sad that Glenn died, but I’m grateful that Maggie became a more intriguing character as a result. I’m praying she can come back for season 10.
How can a show this insane and creative not be a hit?

Offensive, violent, crude, hilarious and amazing.
Take note Hollywood, before you publish your latest shined-up turd from the museum of Things-that-were-good-when-you-were-a-kid-but-we-ruined-them-for-a-few-extra-dollars, because-we're-stupid-and-can't-think-of-original ideas-and-have-no-creative-talent.
Happy! is the antichrist of boring shit. Watch this show and tell me I'm wrong.
The premise is insane.
The cast transcends all expectations.
The jokes are really good.
blahblah im done
During the beginning of the episode End Times in S4, Walt is sat in his back garden, spinning his 38 snub on the table. Twice it lands on him, implying he is the target and there’s nothing he can do about it. He’s a dead man.
But the third time it stops and points at the lily of the valley flower in his garden. This is awesome foreshadowing as to how it is revealed in S5 he used it to poison brock in order to manipulate Jesse into thinking it was Gus and therefore regain his allegiance. I somehow never noticed this on the first watch so thought it was really cool.
That is all.
Do you think Saul regrets working with the legendary Heisenberg? I mean sure he made some money, but was it really worth his job?, he had to leave everything behind and start fresh, even with all that money he's just not himself anymore.
Walter laughing after finding out skyler gave the money to ted. I mean the acting in that scene was phenomenal enough, add in the sinister music and that phone call from Marie, and I remember just feeling scared even though I knew all of this was fake and wasn’t actually happening. It’s definitely the most interesting way I’ve ever seen a panic attack occur on a show, how someone goes from crying to just straight up laughing as if it’s some sort of joke. Probably is and always will be my fav scene from the series.
So I just got the second compendium and the 8th volume and boy, is it twisted and dark. It's a great thing to read the comics and compare it to the show and to see iconic scenes in the comics. I'll be reading the comics and see something and think "I've seen this before. " I highly recommend fans of the show read the comics, and if anyone who reads the comics or watches the show dont be afraid to DM me
The saddest moment for me or one of them is when Dr. Carson dies (Dr. Carson from the Hilltop). It’s just to said for me like I don’t know why but it just is. Go back to Season 8 Episode 11 that’s when he dies. He was trying so hard and it just made me sad.
Since cancellation, this show is now on Netflix. I am an Evil Dead fan, and a fan of Sam Raimi in general, but I never checked this show out due to a combination of lack of Starz subscription and a general distaste for Evil Dead expanded universe stuff (looking at you, "Ash vs" comics). But I'm here to say I should have given this show a chance because it's terrific.
Granted I'm only through the first season, but so far it's great. All the hallmarks of the franchise are there, Bruce Campbell is killing it as always, the new lore additions are fun and fitting, and in general I find it to be a worthy successor to the film trilogy. If you're a fan and haven't checked it out, or if you just like a good gory black comedy, give it a go!
Are the novels in the comic universe or the show universe?
Is Alycia Debnam-Carey's contract up? Has she shown any signs in interviews that she's unhappy? Any indication. She's the only reason I still torrent this show.
In BCS he’s a soft pussy. In BB he’s a capable rival to Tuco. What do you think happens to harden him?
Everyone says Skyler is annoying, obnoxious, whatever, but I think that’s more Marie. The only time I can think of when I didn’t like Skyler was when she was horrible to Walt and tried to kick him out of his own house, which I admit made me kind of hate her. But after that she willingly helped Walt and went through infinite amounts of trouble to back him up and aid in his meth business.
Finally, at the end, even when everyone else hated Walter and wanted to see him in jail, Skyler saw that he wasn’t entirely evil and lied to Marie to talk to Walt and say goodbye. Sometimes she can be bothersome, but Skyler isn’t really as bad as everyone says.

The twelfth round of Season 3 has passed! With 33.33%, or 9, of the 27 total votes, This Sorrowful Life refused to beg, making it the twelfth episode of the third season to be eliminated.
Discuss your thoughts: what episode should win? What episode should lose? What episode did you forget even existed? Please remember to follow both the sub rules and basic Reddiquette.

I’ve never watched the show and it looks really great. Is it still worth watching? What is so good about the show? Also what do the * mean?
Many of us here have rewatched and rewatched. We remember the big scenes, know exactly when to expect them and look forward to them. Then there are smaller scenes that go by and some of us might be like "wow, I forgot that happened, so cool!"
For me, it was the scene in the fourth episode when Jesse is high and tweaking out. He sees some bikers come to his door ready to kill him. He sneaks out of his house and then it revealed that they were actually two Mormons soliciting his house.
When the process of putting together this Throne Pool began, one of the first points we had to settle on was the question we'd ask people. "Who do you think will win the Iron Throne?" or "Who do you want to win the Iron Throne?".
We opted for the latter because we thought it'd be more fun to have people in communities with fans who share their love of a character (or not-character) rather than just thinking they had the best odds of being on the Throne. And you've all done an excellent job bringing those communities to life.
... but, of course, we did plan on people celebrating (or mourning) according to who ended up on the Iron Throne. In true Game of Thrones style, that wasn't such an easy answer.
Technical winner
This award goes to r/NobodyWinsTheThrone. The description of the subreddit included explicit mention of "if you don't think there'll be an Iron Throne", and Drogon, champion of anarchists everywhere, made sure that was the case. So, in that sense, r/NobodyWinsTheThrone was victorious.
Winner-in-spirit
... however, it is Bran Stark who now rules (most of) Westeros, and the show clearly positions him as the new main king. The Iron Throne itself may be gone, and there may be a new method for choosing who sits it, but he is the one sitting at the head of the small council in King's Landing. When we made the Throne Pool, in our minds this is part of what we were imagining, so Bran is a winner-in-spirit.
Highly commended
And a shout-out has to go to Sansa Stark. She didn't win THE throne, but she is now the independent queen of one of the Seven Kingdoms. For that, the Queen in the North is highly commended.
and your prize...
Those who picked each of these teams in the Throne Pool will receive a unique Reddit badge. The exact design is still being ironed out, but we felt it was time to announce these results rather than wait any longer for that to be finalised (we've already taken too long, really, so sorry for that).
A big thanks to everyone who took part in the Throne Pool and contributed/lurked on these subreddits. And to the Reddit admins for facilitating this whole event and being so available. We hope that, in some small way, it enhanced your viewing of S8 just a little bit.
The subreddits will now be opened so that anyone can post in them.
Seven blessings.
Never really thought about this, but Walt went through great lengths to hide his job, but in the beginning he just blew a fucking car up at the gas station, this man straight up committed terrorism. That didn’t actually happen right?
What a phenomenal actress and writer..the show is just perfect. Also the quality increase from season 1to 2 is astonishing.
I really love the characters especially the sister and the priest. The priest is one of the best addition to a cast ever. The 4th wall interaction was interesting also.
The sister is just so miserable and funny, love the actress.
Phoebe is a godamn star, heard she also wrote for the new James Bond movie, very excited for that now.... Very excited about her new show.
The finale for both season were insane and full of twist, did not see the first one coming and for the priest, I knew he was talking about you know who.
Highly recommend
Hey folks! To pass the off-season we're doing a summer rewatch over on the r/thewalkingdead Discord server. Here's how it works: you watch the designated episodes on your own time, and then we meet up each Saturday (all day, pop in as you please) in #episode-discussion to discuss the episodes.
This week we're watching Season 1. Next week it will be Season 2A, the week after that 2B and so on.
Even if you don't want to participate in the rewatch, the Discord is a fun place! There are channels to discuss the comics, spoilers (including the new filming spoilers as they come in), Fear The Walking Dead (including live chats during the new episodes on Sunday nights), plus we hold trivia nights once or twice a month. Join us if any of that sounds up your alley!
The 'I am the one who knocks' scene was so cool when I first saw it but on my 4th or 5th (whichever this one is) rewatch, it just seemed like pathetic and it was so obvious he was trying to overcompensate for his insecurity about his powerlessness, fear of Gus, etc. Skyler correctly called out how he was feeling and it just made him feel so small.
There are so many other moments throughout the show that seemed badass on my first watch but now just make me shake my head at Walt.
I just have one question, what made Walter to think that poisoning Brock was going to lead Jesse to turn to his side? I mean, Jesse said he had the raisin with him, didn't he? up until the morning that day? I mean how did Walter convince Jesse that even if it was the raisin it wouldn't have been Walter who would poison Brock? Ehh, I can't make sense of it.
Also, what to expect of the last season?
Is the apartment that Jimmy and Kim are living in throughout season 4 the same as season 2? If not, what is the name of the new one? The apartments look really dope.
Whenever Jimmy says anything she gives him dirty looks and is acting strange throughout, am I missing something?
I see that Walter has the plant that makes the poison berries so did he actually poison that kid just to get Jessie to help him kill Guss?
I'm halfway through season 7 right now, and holy shit... Getting attached to these characters so fast and losing them just as fast, is insane. The emotions I've felt seeing them come and go has been something. And Abraham's arc about wanting to build something just for him to die like that? Jesus Christ that destroyed me.
I think the worst thing though, is Glenn's "I'll find you, Maggie" as his eye is literally coming out of his head.
Holy shit. This show is something else.
I guess a better way to put if would be:
A) Fring/Salamanca/Nacho/Ehrmantraut
or
B) McGill Brothers/Hamlin/Wexler/Ehrmantraut*
I find myself wanting to see so much more of the Fring backstory. What happened in Chile? What was Gus' true relationship with his partner? More Don Eladio, PLEASE.
Jesus ok the dude is a god damn bad ass.
He took down Tuco like the dude was an ant and he was the boot. Tuco one of the biggest badasses in the series who scared Walt and Jesse shitless and was a high up member for the Juarez Cartel.
THEN HE SHITS ALL OVER THE COUSINS. These two Terminators not only had body armor on him but Hank was UNARMED and he took them both down, the Juarez Cartel's most ruthless hitmen and he took them down UNARMED and blindsided.
The dude is a fucking monster Jesus Christ.
Upon further inspection she only watched the first episode. We've come upon agreement that she will watch season one, and up to 4 episodes of season two. I'm open to open her fucking mind!
In one of the earlier seasons(season 4 I think) when The Hound is telling the story to Ayra of why he doesn't like fire because of what his brother did to him as a child, did anyone else feel the little boy inside The Hound take over when he made the comment "I didn't steal it, I was just playing with it" ?
That line really broke my heart as he said it. The actor delivers that line so perfectly because you can feel all the hurt that he not only still carries at that moment, but that he felt as a little kid when it happened.
I thought Cinnabon was a fake chain like Los Pollos Hermanos but today I walked past a Cinnabon. It's not a famous chain in my country, this was the first store I ever saw. So is this a clever product placement?
the most important part of the fly episode is seeing Heisenberg slip away briefly and the original Walt makes a brief appearance (possibly one of the last true walt moments until the finale) and its sooo emotional and tense because the entire conversation is building up to his apology for janes death, and then jesse just says "its not your fault" but we all know better. Walt also mentions he wished he died back around the time of janes death (or just before). but after that Heisenberg pretty much takes over as we see less and less of walter
anybody who doesnt understand that fails to see the greatness in the fly episode
In the short 16 episodes, The OA has quickly become my absolute favorite show of all time. It bends the limits on storytelling and has done something I have never seen ANY show ever do!
To say anymore would go into spoilers but for those who haven’t watched this piece of art, i highly recommend it.
‘Fly, the tenth episode of thirteen in the third series of Breaking Bad, as of writing is my favourite Breaking Bad episode. But as noted by many, it probably shouldn’t be anyone’s. In the context of what the show is so lovingly devoted toward, it doesn’t seem in fitting with the violent, criminally charged outlook the show plays to the tune to. And that’s almost exactly why it’s brilliant.
The episode focuses mainly within Walt and Jesse’s laboratory and an apparent contaminant that proves dangerous, this being a lone fly. It is a minor issue for most and to Walt when he notices it, but his method and want to rid the laboratory of the fly becomes more and more ridiculous. He becomes more and more devoted to an insect than the production of his famed blue methamphedamine. But why?
Let’s look at the bigger picture. Breaking Bad is a show about just that; no longer conforming to the role of a good samaritan due to societal standards. Walter White, and indeed others, slowly or quickly become mere outlines of who they are when met by the audience as they become more and more desperate to break bad. However, whilst many others follow suite, it’s Walter White’s transformation into the meth-making Heisenberg we care for.
Heisenberg is a character who is obsessed with power. He is motivated by being powerful, by being on top. We see him unhinge and declare his anger to those who undermine him, in large or small retrospect. He gets angry at Hank when he decides for Walt.Jr how much he should drink, he disobeys a police officer when forced to stand down, etc, etc. This is shown brilliantly by this episode. His overinsurance of the fly’s importance shows just how little shit he will take. This fly represents the things he let get on top of him.
We can only infer what happened in the prior 50 years of his life. We know little; he was a talented chemist on the verge of great scientific success but settled for teaching uninterested high schoolers. In the mere 20 or so minutes we catch of him before he bursts into the anti-heroic character we begrudgingly love, we see him as a shy, boring, reserved teacher who takes shit from anyone. He’s mocked and undermined in his own birthday. And due to the in-media-res, we can only assume this is regular.
This insect is a lot more than a contamination. It’s a representation of his ultimate want to subvert who he once was. Whilst it’s no secret, I think it’s often glossed over that all of this was what Walt wanted. He wanted to break bad. He wants to rid of the chains that hold us all back. It’s everyone’s dark horse of a desire to be the villain.
I love this episode because it is what the show is. It’s reflective of the entire series until this point.
Thank you for reading. any criticisms are ones I wanna hear so shout about it.
Wow man rewatching breaking bad after like 3 years and having seen Better call Saul ... wow everything happens through him and his character just adds a different dynamic... he starts the Gustavo deal and essentially sets story beyond season 2
"What does a man do? A man provides. And he does it even when he is not loved, or respected, or appreciated. He simply bears up and he does it. Because he is a man."
"We are not alike at all Mr. White. You are not a careful man. Your partner showed up late. And he was high.....You can never trust a junkie."
"This is what happens with blood for blood Hector. Sangrie for Sangrie."
"A cripple little ratta. What a reputation to leave behind."
"Look at me, Hector"
"Hello, Hector. All of them, Hector. Don Eladio, Don Paco, Cesar, Reynaldo, Ortuno, Cisco, and Luis. Escalara. All dead."
"Do it. Do it. May I take your order?"
"Is today the day, Hector"
"Last chance to look at me Hector."
"Well, when I first started out, I made a lot of mistakes. More than I care to admit. I wish I had someone to advise me, because this life of ours, it can overwhelm. You are a wealthy man now, and one must learn to be rich. To be poor, anyone can manage.
Walter:What advice do you have for me?
Gus:Never make the same mistake twice."
"Don Eladio está muerto! Sus capos están muertos! Ustedes no tienen a nadie mas por quien pelear. Llenen sus bolsillos, y váyanse en paz… o vengan a pelear conmigo, y mueran!"..... (Don Eladio is dead. His capos are dead. You have no one left to fight for. Fill your pockets and leave in peace. Or fight me and die!)
I recently binge watched every season of TWD as its been a while since Ive watched it and I wanted everything to be fresh for season 9. I hust finished the final episode of season 8 and go to load up season 9 and....SURPRISE! I have to have an AMC Premier sub in order to see the first half of the season? Wtf kind of garbage is that? This show should have ended 2 seasons ago before they decided to ruin it by drawing everything out to fill air time. Now you want me to pay for your stupid premier channel in order to see a show that youve turned from great to sub par and is already part of my Comcast sub? Screw you AMC.
The acting is phenomenal. The characters are amazing. The only shows I'd seen any of the cast in were Deadwood and Under the Dome. I refused to watch this for many years thinking the show was probably overrated. I have never been more wrong in my life. Just my two cents.
I was just thinking about this, and I think my favorite is definitely “Something To Fear” but I’m not sure what my full ranking would be.
I'm with everybody else on how great season 9 was. It was refreshing to breathe new life into old characters who had flat arcs under Gimple. Daryl in particular really became a leader, and Norman Reedus got to stretch his acting muscles. Everyone did. The new characters did a great job. It was a great season.
But season 9 did feel kind of...empty. With so many great characters already dead, Andrew Lincoln's decision to leave left a big hole in the show. And as great a job as the cast did, it always did feel a little lonely at the top.
Frankly it reminded me of when Steve Carrell left The Office. The next two seasons were great as usual, but still missing that central character to root for.
So I'm curious...and this is purely a topic of discussion, I'm in no way advocating that they actually go through with this, but it might be a fun thing to talk and think about!
If TWD was going to retcon a death, as in resurrect a character we previously thought to be dead, which character would be the most plausible and believable to bring back?
After seeing the first trailer for it way back when, I have to say I was not interested. However, after watching a few episodes on a flight and recently catching up on the entire show, The Mick must be one of the funniest show's I've seen in recent memory and I'm gutted it was axed so soon.
Unfortunately, it was cancelled along with The Last Man on Earth; a show I found very hit or miss and constantly trying to find its footing. As well, though quickly picked up by NBC, Brooklyn 99 ; a show that, controversially, I find to be a pretty mass appealing, middle of the road comedy (and I say that as a massive fan of The Lonely Islands film and TV efforts). The Mick finds its footing almost immediately and only gets better as it progresses, offering two seasons of shock humour and jokes funnier than any of the more recent seasons of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia; and I bet that's a controversial opinion too.
Kaitlin Olson smashes her leading role of “Mickey”, offering some truly outstanding displays of physical comedy and a lot more comedic nuance than anything she's been given in It's Always Sunny (It may not seem it, but I'm a massive “Sunny” fan).
Thomas Barbusca’s portrayal of the pretentious and annoyingly fragile 13-year-old, “Chip”, is deviously funny. His delivery and comedic timing is shockingly hilarious, especially while playing a character that is meant to get on your nerves.
The less said seen about the incredibly young and impressionable, “Ben”, the better. With some of the show's funniest and most disturbing gags, 8-year-old child actor Jack Stanton keeps up comedically with the cast like no child actor I’ve ever seen before.
But by far the stand out has to be Mickey’s screw up pseudo-boyfriend "Jimmy". When introduced, I thought I would hate Scott MacArthur’s character - but he very quickly becomes easily the funniest character on the show. His line delivery and charisma is undeniably perfect and his (not so) romantic relationship between Olsen’s lead offers a pretty interesting, modern take on long term dating that, surprisingly, offers the best dramatic moments of the show.
The show deserved better, especially when you see the final episode and find out where they were wanting to go with season three. To put it simply, this show had a surprising amount of balls.
In the first episode hank arrest the "cook" amilio. You would think he would turn Jesse in no? I guess you could say he was loyal but I doubt that. I read that Jesse wasn't supposed to be in the series long so maybe that was his original exit of the show. Seems like a plot hole to me.
Seriously.. check it out. It's only half an hour, but it was the most entertaining 30 minutes I've ever spent watching something on Netflix (or maybe anywhere else).
does anybody think the RV might have had some foul odors? meth labs are notoriously stinky, walt even mentions that he cant go home smelling like a meth lab
so when Hank discovered the RV and the bullet holes, couldnt he have detected a foul odor? giving him probable cause to search the RV?
Just rewatching bb and up to s5 e6. How awkward is that dinner between Jesse, Skyler and Walt? Jesus, poor Jesse. But it kinda made me think i would have liked to see Flyn and Jesse met.
Also, just an idea for the movie: Flyn and Jesse team up fir some reason
When Hank is surveilling Jesse’s house and Marie calls him and goes “why don’t you just kick down his door?” And he says “Marie there’s a little thing called the constitution” and she goes “yeah yeah constitution blah blah blah” um no not “blah blah blah” it’s the constitution dummy. He would lose his job. And then after he beats the shit out of Jesse she’s telling him to make stuff up for his statement like that Jesse attacked him with a pipe. And then after he gets shot and is in the hospital Marie gets all mad at Steve and Merkert for taking away his gun and acts like it’s all their fault, ummm no Marie it’s actually Hank’s fault for nearly beating Jesse to death, Merkert was doing his job why would he give Hank special treatment and she asks Steve “where were you? You’re his partner you’re supposed to back him up” ummm you want Steve to follow Hank around everywhere? You want him to watch Hank take a piss and maybe shake his dick for him when he’s done? Get real Marie.
Fuck Chuck-- that is all, thank you.
S5E5 - Frasier has an enormous city wide event planned to celebrate "Frasier Day" - even the mayor is in attendance. For a pompous man like Frasier, it is the pinnacle of this career. He experiences a series of missteps that delays his arrival to the main event, when he finally catches a break and gets a cab. On the way, he start up a conversation with the driver who reveals that his marriage and relationship with his kids are on the rocks. Frasier finally arrives at the party, but sacrifices the entire thing to stay in the car and let the driver talk about his children. A beautiful, selfless act if i have ever seen one.
Can't wait to hear some good news about the sequel!
Chills. Also how I became a big Tv on the Radio fan. That song, DLZ, is epic.
I hate Walt just as much as I hate Skyler. From the first season to the last. Even though Jesse can be a punk sometimes Walt always called him a stupid junkie. Always belittling him. Making him feel like he was the one that fucked up in most situations. I empathize with Jesse so much more this go around. And the saddest part in the whole show and I don't care what anyone says.... "I watched Jane die"... Is the most fucked up thing. I cried. I really did. Is that sad? I felt so bad for Jesse. To W. W. My shining star. Fuck you.
Premise: When a highly infectious virus with no known cure appears at the Reston Monkey Facility in 1989, U.S. Army veterinarian Dr. Nancy Jaax (Julianna Margulies) works to stop it from spreading in this six-part miniseries based on Richard Preston's 1995 nonfiction book about Ebola.

Walt to Jesse, "You brought a meth lab to the airport???"
Jesse to Walt, "Did you just bring a bomb in to a hospital???"
I’m doing a soft rewatch of the series and I’m wondering if we ever ever see Gale give Walter Leaves of Grass? I don’t think we do, and it’s just implied, but someone please correct me wrong.
So I read a post a few minutes ago about how this guy said he thinks that in the end of the show they’ll find out that Judith and babies that were born after the initial outbreak would be immune and that they wouldn’t have the virus inside of them like everyone else does. But if everyone has the virus and they have a kid, wouldn’t the virus be passed to the kid? Think of it like an Addiction to drugs. If the parent was addicted to drugs and was doing drugs during pregnancy the baby is born addicted to drugs. Same goes for STD’s
There is no way that the obvious shot of the cab driver suspecting Gene as Saul Goodman is going to go to waste. I believe is going to be the kidnapper in the breaking bad movie. I'll bet that Jesse is in the trunk of that cab as well considering that Greenbrier, the Breaking bad movie, has a description about a man getting kidnapped.
Another idea I have is that when Jesse slams into the fence and escaped the compound in the breaking bad series finale, he then wants to hideout with his fuck buddy Wendy. I don't think Wendy will have anything to do with the kidnapping but Jesse may call the vaccum repair man for an escape and get kidnapped possibly when waiting for the van to show up. The cab driver may recognize him and offer him a ride for free. I don't know. I miss better call saul.
Kim Wexler has a poster of a Buck Jones movie on a wall at her appartment. Buck Jones was a popular movie actor in the 1930s and in 1941 he was one of the 492 people who died in the Cocoanut Grove fire in Boston (still the worst night club fire in American history). Chuck McGill dies in a fire. Any intended counter positioning by the writers?
Yeah he's definitely dead, Otherwise this would not be $4000...They spoiled it without trying to but I will 100% bet the farm that rick buys the farm.
Sad day :(
From 1 to 5 how do you rank the seasons?
It was unbelievable in this episode, especially with the snow. The show finally felt like a zombie apocalypse again.
Take notes Walking Dead
Idk if this an unpopular opinion or not but it’s always bugged me how bad of an actor he is. Like in the scene where he gets shot just listen to the way he talks it just sounds so non organic and robotic like he calls skinny and goes “i gotta bad feeling, i need some backup, get your ass up here, now” and then when the kid asks “what’s that thing in your ear?” He goes “what did i say, get out of here, what are you waiting for, go” the way he talks is just very robotic and unrealistic it’s like Tommy wiseau level acting
What does everyone think is ultimately going to happen with Kim? Will she die, sending Jimmy into a spiral officially marking his transition into Saul? Or will she move away perhaps? She's not in BB so something is going to happen...
I see people talking about Doom Patrol here and about how great it is and how weird it is and stuff and while I haven’t watched I look forward to it. Sadly another show that sounds kind of similar is overshadowed by how disappointing the Arrow-verse has been lately. This show is some of the best super hero TV right now. It’s quirky, funny and a lot of fun to watch. It’s not really the story but the characters and the interactions between them. The show is very funny at times and really great if you’re looking to relax. I don’t think that it’s faithful to the source material but I don’t think that’s what they intended with the show. Even though the first season isn’t really that great the other 3 seasons are amazing. I’m surprised this show has an IMDb score of 6,9/10 only. Please do yourself a favor and get through the first season and then enjoy the rest.
Letting a pinch hitter (Elliot) hit a home run (pay for chemo) is the nail on the head.
Aside from the finale of "Dexter" I've never hated a TV show more than this one. Horrible acting, terrible writing, a check list of television's greatest tropes, and characters so one dimensional they put Flat Stanley to shame.
We got about five episodes in and realized that we just didn't care about any of the people, storylines, or any of it. We read reviews and spoilers to summarize the final eps and they read like a psychotic Hallmark movie meets "The Bold and the Beautiful."
Rant over. Thanks for reading.
While Game of Thrones has ended and it's last season wasn't perfect, I still have Attack on Titan to look forward to on my Sundays and every episode this season has been good or great, especially the most recent episode. I hear from the manga readers that it is still gonna get even better.
Please NO SPOILERS for those who haven't read the Manga below.
I'm currently rewatching the show with my flatmates and gosh dang. The dialogue, comedy, characters, action and plot are all so awesome. I can see how people would say that it's niche but it seems like there are just too many good things to count out. Someone please explain to me how this happened? How this utter injustice occured? How this masterpiece of a show got cancelled?
I’ve stopped watching TWD since season 5. The reason is because I kinda missed a couple of episodes and then lost interest from there.
Anyway, a friend of mine who is a serious TWD enthusiast has been trying to get me back in and he made some pretty convincing arguments as to why I should.
He said I should ignore the negative criticism of the show because TWD is better to be binged and all the negative criticisms came from people who were waiting weekly for new episodes.
It does seem to make sense to me, one of gripes I had originally about the show was the pacing, but pacing wouldn’t be an issue when binge watching.
Is there any merit to this argument ?
There’s no question that TV has vastly improved in quality over the last couple decades or so. This is a form of media that went from a lower grade amusement to arguably the premiere method of contemporary entertainment. That being said, there are definitely shows that, despite high praise and large budgets, aren’t quite as good as they’d have you believe. I’m really interested to find out what programs you think are overrated so please comment an answer below. In the meantime I’ll give two of mine, to see what you guys think of them (I don’t think I’ll get a lot of support for the second one lol).
House of Cards - Good show with a great cast. Kevin Spacey is a creep and certainly a bad person but he is a very skilled actor. However, I think some of the stylistic choices and overall tone of the show drag it down. It’s almost too serious, to the point of being melodramatic for me, which is a big turnoff. It feels like every character considers themselves the most important person in the room, and integral to the functioning of the United States, a particular state, or whatever it is they do. Like I said before, sometimes in its attempt to be dark, chilling, or overly serious, HoC feels to be like it crosses a line into a parody of itself, almost, or maybe a more well balanced show that it’s trying to be. It’s not a bad show by any means, but I don’t think it’s up there with the best TV has to offer, like some do.
The Office - Yikes. I know I’m going to get hate for this. Let me start by saying that I like and enjoy the office, it’s definitely a solid show and I would miss it if it didn’t exist. However, in terms of it being the pinnacle of television comedy or sitcoms, I just don’t see it. Where The Office falls short to me, is in its limited capacity for variety. I know that change isn’t really a part of most comedies on TV, but The Office always feels to me like it’s trapped within itself, like it revolves too much around a setting rather than its characters (I know, ironic since it’s called the OFFICE, but still). I feel like this prevents the characters from really growing, and this leads to a little fatigue as far as the same humor over and over again. The characters are solid, with some being really special and exceptional, but the focus of the show has always been more about the sum of the group than of the characters individually.
Anyway, I’m interested to see what other people consider overrated. Please comment below with your opinion!
Edit: Love all the comments I’m getting. Super interesting and I didn’t think I’d get this many responses!
Another Edit: A fair amount of people saying Breaking Bad. I personally love this show, and I consider it top tier, but it does suffer from some TV tropes and unrealism. Example: those two assassins/brothers who work for the cartel. Very cool but also very action movie stereotype; tough guys who never speak and carry huge, ridiculously oversized matching magnum pistols.
TL;DR: Title.
I loved that part of the show.
I'm at the end of season 9 of The Office and looking for another similar show and came across Parks and Recreation. For those who watched both, what do you think?
So I'm going through a rewatch for the first time in ages and have hit season 3 so far. It's one of my favorite times in the show and I'm excited to watch 4 and 5 too. But I'm less excited about the whole Negan arc.
Agrees ago I saw a suggested order which avoided the worst episodes but still keeps the best ones (like the one where 'someone' gets shot in the eye.)
What are your rewatch rules? Do you just grin and bare the painful episodes or are some on your skip list?
Imagine if when Carl died, he saw Shane, Lori and Dale. He would hug his mom and tell her he's sorry but she wouldn't care, she'd be proud of him. He would shake hands with Shane, now that he's much more mature he forgives Shane. Now he looks at Dale and says "I'm sorry" And Dale says "don't worry son, it was an accident. It's in the past. " Imagine if (there's gonna be a lot of imagine if, in this post) when Glenn died he saw Dale, Noah, and Hershel. Him and Dale would hug and talk about the RV, and that he's sorry that he couldn't save it. He would look at Noah and say "I'm sorry I couldn't hold onto you" Noah would just laugh and say "that wasn't your fault, don't sweat it. " Him and Hershel would talk about Maggie and hershel would ask him if he kept the watch. imagine if when Enid died she saw Carl and Glenn. She would hug Carl and sat "I missed you" And Carl would say "I did too, but your here now" She would then turn to Glenn and say "your son looks like you" And they would both laugh and talk about what had happened during the time that they were alive. Imagine if when Henry died, he saw his older brother. They would hug and his brother would scold him for dying early. But at the end of all of that they would all end up at a table, and at the head of that table would be Glenn waiting for them with everyone else including Jesus, Tara, Beth, Sasha, Tyrese, Bob, T Dog, and everyone else they lost.
Remember it's just something I thought of, it may not be that good but it was something I thought would be interesting to post see what you all thought of it
If you haven’t completely finished the show do not continue to read this post it contains a major spoiler about the ending. With that being said there is a discussion I’ve had with other people who watched the show and wanted to get your opinions. Does Walt die in the last episode. I know it may seem like an obvious answer since he is laying there on the ground of the meth lab but I’m not sure he does.
If you think about it the injury which supposedly kills him is the wound in his stomach paired with the return of his cancer. The problem with this is that the wound came from shrapnel and not an actual bullet meaning it probably wouldn’t be fatal especially not in a short time. Another thing is that chemotherapy is known to cause blood clots which would mean the area would actually clot faster and cause him to lose less blood. Since the police get there in well under 30 minutes and are trained they would be able to help keep him alive with a somewhat minor injury like that.
Alone with that the police would do everything in their power to keep him alive. They want him to suffer for what he did. He is one of the last ones who knows the full story as we can see in the last season where he ties up all the loose ends. Jesse also knows some and has talked to the police but obviously Walt would know more and all of his motives and reasoning. The police would want to keep him alive to get a confession along with the real story and send him to jail for what he’s done. Him dying in a meth lab with a smile on his face means he went out on his own terms which is something else the police don’t want to happen.
Personally I hope Walt did die in the meth lab because I would like to see him go out his way but I’m not sure he does. What do you guys think, does Walt die or does he get saved and pay for what he did.
Chuck:
I noticed this while rewatching with someone who is watching for the first time. When Chuck finally goes off on his rant to Jimmy on why he was working against him, the line that stuck out the most to me was "the law is sacred!". This, to me anyway, felt like Chuck giving a noble and morally righteous cover for his actual petty insecurity and disdain for his brother. One of the biggest reasons it got under his skin that Jimmy was becoming a lawyer was that being a lawyer and the stature that came with it was what separated him and gave him a level of esteem he could take pride in. With Jimmy invading "his" space he felt threatened and his own sense of self worth and superiority was questioned.
Walt:
Walt flips out on Jesse for cooking his own formula without him because "its an insult to the chemistry". He later tells Gus that he is offended he would even want to work with Jesse without walt because "the chemistry must be respected." He gives a similar type of moral cover for his own petty insecurity and ego problems. He clearly took pride in the fact that it was "his" product and the fact that it was being replicated by someone of jesses stature threatened what he felt seperated him and his pride.
Summary: Jesse encroaching on walts greatness by creating a product of similar quality unsettled his sense of worth and superiority just as Jimmy becoming a laywer did to Chucks. Both characters tried to mask their egomania and insecurity by using a false moral crying call "the law is sacred!" "the chemistry must be respected"
Sorry if this has been said before, but I thought it was a cool parallel and wanted to share.
He reminds me of the old turtle from kung fu panda
