I’m researching TWD and I’m on season 5 episode 10 and when Sasha killed a walker she also grazed Abraham so I was wondering why he didn’t turn because the saviours will start using that tactic later in the show.

White House Plumbers creates a cartoonish vibe for what could have been a really interesting show
There's such a rich and interesting piece of subject matter here to explore. But this show just accepted from the get-go that the people involved with the Watergate scale were idiots, and furtherfore that Nixon and his staff were just incompetent.
Even if this show is classified as a 'comedy', there's a way to make it where we actually care about the characters involved. But everyone in this show was just a cartoonish, simplistic representation of the people that were involved with this entire scam.
Did anyone actually enjoy the show? if so, why, and how?
I think most of us here understand that what they did was terrible, but you don't need to turn every character into something one-dimensional in oder to get your point across.

Why do the characters barely mercy shoot people when theyre getting eaten??
this infuriates me omfg. i’ve been thinking this for a few episodes now but now that they’ve done it again im really wondering if there’s a good reason or if its just shit writing. when side characters die, meaning they get a horrible death and get ripped apart alive fully aware still, none of the main characters ever puts them out of their misery BEFORE they die…? (Barely- it’s happened before but they mostly just watch them die slowly and then leave) they only shoot when its just a bite? right now im on s6 and it just happened to david in alexandria, he’s the best example, he was well liked and just having a full on conversation about his wife with michonne just for michonne to stand there and look at him stupid for 2 mins while he gets gutted and then leave? and I feel like that’s so out of character for her and anyone else that’s done this to well liked side characters. its situations where they don’t even have to worry about wasting bullets

Why do you think the virus was created?
I think we all know by now that the French created the Wildfire virus or at the very least enhanced it by creating variants. Everyone talks about how it all started or where it started but I really want to know why it started. My theory is that it was commissioned by the French on behalf of NATO to use against the enemies of democracy but that's boring. What do ya'll think about why it was created. Feel free to write what you think was the cause of the virus's creation. Would love to hear your theories.

After watching Dead City and now rewatching seasons 7 and 8 it’s pretty obvious that Negan is full of shit when he said he was just acting horrible because he needed too. He clearly loved the power he had and was as sadistic as any character in any story. Just had to say it.

HBO series The Plot Against America has only become more relevant
I have no idea why more people don't talk about this show, its almost a direct mirror to what's happening in our country today. There's been a strong and significant rise in fascism in this country over the last few years and I think this show illustrates very well the sort of future we could be looking at right now. But aside from relevance, I thought this show was incredible. I just don't recall ever hearing much about it after it aired, did anyone else watch this?

The improv shows on the Dropout (from College Humor) are ridiculously clever and funny
I've saw their shorts a lot on YouTube and the full length episodes are just as good but I've never heard anyone talk about them.
Great host and mix of guests. It's so good that I don't even care if it's not improvised right there and then and sure there's a bit of TV magic. There's better acting in a 30 second sketch than in while other shows.
Even the prompts are hilarious, like "all the men bro-ing out once the women and children have left the Titanic" or " a commentator who is clearly attracted to one of the horses at a horse race".
Loved College Humor back in the day and so happy to see them killing it here

Im rewatching the series and in season 2 and for it’s Andrea trying to assemble a gun when she don’t know what she is doing during horde like just leave it and stay quiet.

Andrea is such a dipshit
On a rewatch and I'm towards the end of s2. I used to love Andrea when I first watched the show. Maybe it's because it's 10 years later for me, but she is just so fucking stupid. I feel bad for Dale constantly trying to look after her and she's just constantly in her own way or being a dumb bitch 90% of the time. And as I recall in later seasons, she doesn't stop being stupid. I wish there was a shitpost/discussion flair.

Is there a TV series finale that makes you choke up every time you watch it? For me it's easily Boy Meets World. When they all tell Feeney how much he meant to them and he waits until they leave to drop the tough guy act and finally admits to loving them I crack right there and then.
I didn't get to watch the original airing of Boy Meets World, but the re-runs on Disney made it my favorite show as a kid and I remember distinctly finally getting all the season and watching them from beginning to end and I got to the final episode and man that ending for someone who went on that journey with the characters from the ups and the downs hit me so hard. Now as an adult in my 30s who graduated high-school, college, etc hat last scene with Feeny brings up the emotions of finally leaving behind your adolescence and the people who brought you up through your adolescence and finally becoming an adult. It's such a beautifully written scene and it's such a satisfying scene to end the show on.

Hijack was ultimately a waste of everyone’s time
The cast
Apple TV’s
And the viewer’s
With the exception of Idris’ bank manager - it wasted everyone’s time
What started kinda meh, got pretty good, then it had a stellar penultimate episode
But - holy fuck - they dropped the ball with that final episode
The show should’ve been a Michael Bay movie and not a 7 part limited series

My perspective of TWD changed now that I am a father
I’m doing my yearly rewatch and I cried when rick reunited with Carl and Lori, I cried when they thought they lost Judith at the prison, currently I am more understanding of rick with his first meeting with aaron and just making sure he’s not about to get fooled again especially since this time they are taking Judith and Carl with them, im not ready to go to season 8 when Carl dies, why? Because it’s been years since I watched that episode but one thing stuck with me and it’s when Rick said “Carl, a fathers job is to protect his son” I think about it every now and then because that’s how i feel with my son, if anything were to happen even if it wasn’t my fault, it would be so devastating.

Symbolism in the show
There’s a lot of good symbolism in the show that I think gets looked past. I’m rewatching and I’m on season 5 and Abraham has a cut on his hand and it keeps opening back up. I take that as symbolism of his past trauma and depression that opens back up. You see a scene where it opens up when he punches Eugene after he finds out he was lying about Washington. This symbolizes that everything he did and worked for was a lie and that opens his past wounds back up. I also think the walkers in general symbolize the unfair cruelty of life. There’s a scene when Carol is in her car crying and a walker pounds on the window and she screams at it to go away like she’s screaming at the cruelty of the world to leave her alone for a second. Is there any other symbolism you guys have seen in the show?

Just binged the first 5 episodes of Station Eleven and it is amazing
I know it’s received it’s fair share of critical acclaim, but I feel like I hear more negative than positive about it as far as word of mouth goes. I knew it had something to do with a post-apocalyptic Shakespearean troupe (which did not interest me AT ALL), but I decided to give it a go and I am absolutely in love with it.
Like I said I’m only 5 episodes in but man, there have been some absolutely gut wrenching moments. Are there any other shows like this?? I’ve watched the leftovers, thought it was well acted but the lack of explanation for literally everything happening in that show drove me insane. If there’s anything thematically that feels like this show I’d love suggestions.

Why do people hate season 7 so much?
I’m on season 7 episode 14 and I’m enjoying it, people act like it’s an insane drop off from season 6 but it’s mostly been around the same quality for me. Some really great episodes mixed in too and my top 1 best season opener so far, I can see this question being asked so many times but I just need to know why?
I can only think of Glenn and Abraham dying at the start maybe hurting some people’s enjoyment but it was needed imo.

In TWD World Beyond we saw what happens when an endless fire burns and Walkers end up melted to the floor. Could this have worked in S.6 E.1?

So 2 things Hershel says he’s felt safer with the Croats group than ever before yet they literally cut off his toe so wtf.
Secondly negan is against killing kids the whole reason the Croat and negan fell out yet he executes oceansides male population, many younger being kids, as I forgot her name but one of the main ones from Oceanside sais her brother was 11 or so and executed by the saviours. So yeah many more plot holes but these two stuck out.

Calling All Female/Male Voice Actors for an Exciting TWD Motion Comic Series!
Greetings everyone,
We are thrilled to announce a thrilling project - a motion comic series based on The Walking Dead (TWD)! Our aim is to bring these iconic characters to life by providing them with compelling voices and adding an extra layer of depth to the comics.
Currently, we have a fantastic team of male voice actors, (wouldn’t hurt to get more) but we believe the series would greatly benefit from the inclusion of talented female voices. We are actively seeking serious and dedicated female voice actors to join our project and be a part of this immersive experience.
As we gear up to embark on this creative journey, we have already set up a dedicated Discord server to facilitate smooth communication, brainstorming sessions, and sharing ideas among the team members.
If you are a passionate voice actor and a TWD enthusiast, we encourage you to take part in this exciting endeavor. Your contribution will help shape the characters and bring a fresh perspective to the motion comic series.
To express your interest and secure a spot in the project, please DM us on Reddit. We look forward to connecting with you and exploring the possibilities together.
Let's make this motion comic series a truly memorable and thrilling experience for TWD fans worldwide!
Best regards, TWD Motion Comic team.

“It never happened” spin-off
I would love to see a “What-if” type special of TWD where the apocalypse never happened.
I’m just imagining Daryl and Merle ordering pizza and Glenn delivering it.
King Ezekiel could have a problem with Shiva or one of his animals and visit Hershel who was a veterinarian.
Or Carl could be struggling in PE class so Rick goes to talk to his teacher and finds out it’s Negan.
It’ll never happen, but does anyone else have any ideas like this?

How Rick and Lori's story ended breaks my heart
I'm rewatching s3 and it's so sad to know how they never even got to make up before Judith was born. Yes Lori did bad things but Rick still loved her, the immense regret he must of felt leaving things on bad terms with her.
She died thinking he hated her. But he really loved her. They just were going through a rough time. I didn't really like her in s1 or 2 but her death hurt 10x more because of the fact she was on bad terms with Rick.
If they resolved things and she knew that he loved her and the baby but things were just different, I feel like her death would of been easier to come to terms with.

Maggie’s obsession with Negan is definitely unhealthy
I get she still misses Glenn and hates how Negan brutally murdered him, but Negan has already faced punishment for what he did, and especially after she let him to rot in prison and he begged her to put him out of his misery. And there’s also how she just went back on her word that she doesn’t want to hate him anymore. Plus even if she killed him, she won’t likely have any satisfaction as it won’t bring Glenn back and most times revenge just feels empty.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force's 2nd Season is one of the best seasons in TV comedy history.
The show itself doesn't get as much love as it should but its 2nd season is especially abnormally excellent. Some of the funniest moments I've ever seen on TV. Some of the most memorable quotes in sitcoms ("If I woke up looking like THAT, I would just run towards the nearest living thing and kill it.").
It's a classic season and I highly recommend you watch it for its 20th anniversary.

Documentaries that accidently caught a scoop / uncovered something unexpected in the process of filming?
I was telling my daughter that I love when documentaries stumble into something that they were totally not suspecting and the film takes a complete turn to covering that thing. But I couldn’t think of any examples where it did.
Pretty sure there’s a bunch that covered the 2020 election that stumbled into covering the January 6th insurrection. So something like that.

Been a fan of this franchise since day 1 of the show. Halloween 2010. While I love it, there has been some cringe here and there and to me this phrase “We’re the ones who live” is extremely cringe. When Morgan says “I don’t die” it’s pretty much the same thing but it’s cool and badass, were the ones who live just feels tacky as hell. Seemed like a lot of people liked the new title (not sure if it’s confirmed the new title) which is nice but personally I think it’s a bad title

The Walking Dead behind the scenes is hilarious
Acclaimed director Frank Darabont puts together a prestige adaptation of one of the most beloved comic series of all time. Season 1 is critically acclaimed. Then AMC doubles the amount of episodes for season 2 without giving him an extra penny in the budget, and just generally dicks around with him until he quits/is fired/fucking peaces out to sue them a decade later for unpaid royalties. Then they get some rando who starts killing off valuable comic characters for seasons 2 and 3. Then they fire him.
THEN we get five seasons with Scott Gimple as showrunner, and watch as the show goes from a gritty zombie drama to some kind of existentialist soap where characters just talk in long monologues about how they have to live now.
The guy playing the main protagonist's son gets 18 and has to get paid more, so Gimple pulls a season 2 showrunner move and kills him. That is immediately followed by the lead actor quitting. The show then limps along with yet another showrunner until Darabont sues them. At which point AMC quickly throws in the towel and ends the show. But not before announcing three spin-offs starring the most popular characters, one of which exists just to wrap up the story of the main protagonist (who's chronologically been chilling somewhere for a whole ass decade now). And none of them conveniently have to credit Darabont.
Oh, and one of them is starring Norman Reedus, who was only ever hired by Darabont to be a cool recurring character in s1 and was never even in the comics to begin with, but has somehow outlived everyone else in this franchise.

Who's a TV actor that seems to get hit after hit? (Or at least gets cast in tv shows that all last at least 4 years.)
First that comes to mind is David Boreanaz. He had Buffy, then Angel, Bones, and now Seal Team. Seal Team had to move to Paramount Plus, but he's been consistently working as a lead television show actor since 1997. The man has basically never been a lead on a show that didn't make it to at least 5 years.

Black Summer season 2 is some of the best zombie TV / film I've ever seen
I haven't yet managed to get to the bottom of how this happened, but somehow this turned from a pretty unremarkable and, at best, serviceable zombie flick in season 1, to one of the most well constructed, taut and original zombie shows ever in season 2. It's not really the same show anymore.
It doesn't appear they changed show runners, so the precipitous increase in quality remains something of a mystery to me. If anyone has any insights on this, I'd be v keen to know.
Interestingly, season 2 has a Pulp Fiction-esque narrative structure consisting of a series of non-linear vignettes. The pieces are put together skillfully enough not to be confusing, but instead create interest and drama.
If you're into zombie fiction, I recommend giving this a watch (on Netflix).

Almost always in comedies the person being funny is just taken completely serously, but that 70's show you very often see people chuckling or laughing at what somone is saying. I don't know if that was intentional or the cast couldn't be bothered by acting normal , but can anything name a show show this happened regularly?

In Praise of Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Between Elaine Bennis in Seinfeld and President Selina Meyer in Veep, JLD has demonstrated that she’s a comedic actress of the highest degree. In my view, both roles have been two of the best long-term comedic roles in recent memory, and JLD is largely responsible for that. She brings a chaotic energy to the roles, weaving narcissism and selfishness into the lines with glee, while also managing to make a rather compelling case for our empathy towards her. A third worthy mention of hers is Maggie Lizer, the (not) blind lawyer in Arrested Development. Thanks for tuning in. That’s it.

Daryl Dixon looks like a more promising show to me than Dead City
It’s weird because I never would’ve thought a Daryl spinoff had more potential than a Negan spinoff. I’ve never been all that legitimately interested in Daryl as a character whereas Negan has always been throughly compelling to watch (despite the issues with the writing for him). Dead City as a show though so far has disappointed me between the completely bland undeveloped new characters, pitch black lighting (I can barely ever see anything I feel like, it’s so dark), the Negan/Maggie dynamic getting insufferably repetitive and just generally the overarching rescue mission plot not being particularly engaging. I’m also bummed that we stopped with the whole ‘exploring NYC’ aspect after the first few episodes, I really wanted more of that given it was literally the whole selling point of the show.
The promo pics for Daryl Dixon that were released the other day and the SDCC poster actually have me really excited. I’m loving all the medieval aesthetics (medieval clothing, medieval abbeys, horse drawn wooden carriages for transportation), the brightness and color of the cinematography (which is a stark contrast to Dead City) and just generally the plot of an underground nightclub / black market sounds a lot more genuinely interesting than Dead City’s rescue mission. I’m really interested too in Clemence Posey’s character - nothing more cool than a warrior nun lol - and the main bad guy who’s leading the black market

Does anybody actually like Shane after the 1st season?
JIC (means just in case)
I personally believe that Shane’s character was purposefully made to grow into a completely unlikeable douche up until his death. I also personally think that he kind of lost his mind which is what made him wonky in my eyes, does anyone else agree? Most of all does anyone NOT agree? All opinions are welcome, please!! Fully open for FRIENDLY debate if it’s called for, recently had a run in with a few hostile “I’m right, you’re wrong” folks when I asked for opinions so please be kind!😂😂

The Bear's "Forks" is the most inspiring and feel-good episode of television I've seen in years.
After Ted Lasso's hokey, overwrought, bloated third season that forgot the difference between uplifting and saccharine, The Bear comes along and shows us how it's actually done. This episode - charting fuckup Cousin Richie's sudden transformation into a passionate and enthusiastic team player - was such an unexpected delight, and brilliantly constructed from start to finish.
It's honestly incredible how much the episode accomplishes in just half an hour. The first third is spent establishing Richie as a fish out of water, placing him in the stark, foreboding environment of a fine-dining restaurant (Chicago's Ever). This section itself sets a very unique atmosphere for the show, visually reminiscent of "Severance" in the cold blues and oppressive sleekness, with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' "Waves" score being used to create a feeling of both mystique and isolation.
And then everything jolts to life as we see Richie slowly learn the value of hospitality and attention to detail, and it's just the most inspiring thing to watch. That whole sequence - of him learning how they wait tables, delivering (and serving) the deep dish pizza, and correctly answering the pop quiz about the restaurant, followed by him ripping through the streets in his car to Taylor Swift (his daughter's favorite artist) - made me grin like an idiot. And then we get that beautiful coda featuring a surprise appearance from Olivia Colman, which showed us the intimate, selfless humanity behind all the intense routine and regalia at the restaurant.
I honestly feel there's a lot to learn from this episode, not just about the fine dining industry, but about the joys of applying yourself and committing to a greater cause. It shows how personal transformation does not always have to be a protracted, arduous process - sometimes it's as simple as an attitude change, which can occur almost overnight if you simply make an effort to show up and give a shit. Small things - like Richie reading a book about the value of hospitality the night before work, as well as the way his coworkers notice his confidence and quickly grow fond of him - went a long way in constructing what was not just an uplifting but deeply reassuring episode that tells us it's never too late to begin again. Simply choosing to be more present and live with more intention can bring about instant and lasting change - one that could rewrite your very conception of yourself.

i just want to show appreciation to michone.
from the start i’ve always loved her. introduced as this fucking NINJA FUCKING katana warrior on her own with pet walkers to keep her hidden is just…man. not only that but she’s just such a beautiful black woman. she stands out even if she’s not the center of the episode. she to me is the moral compass of the group too. i know people argue that glenn is which i totally agree but michone too. she helps keep rick in line at times. we’ll, she tries her best. but no seriously i just overall love her. like idk she’s just so badass, her mothering carl after the prison falling is >>>> it’s just like , so wholesome and the way she always treats him.. man idk!! i just love her

This Might Be The Most Well-Written Relationship Dynamic On The Show
Watching Seasons 6-8 again, and I’m reminded of just how much care is given to the relationship between Morgan and Carol.
It’s quickly established in Season 6 how both characters are polar opposites to one another, with Morgan’s experiences with Eastman changing his perception of violence and the living and Carol having a painful journey that made her a unremorseful stone cold killer.
We can say what we want about Season 7 and 8 being poorly paced and the story overall being stretched out more than it should’ve, but the writing for this relationship and how it’s developed is incredibly well done. I feel way more impacted as a viewer by Carol’s relationship with Morgan than any other throughout the series because of how realistic and raw it is.
Could write about this for days really, just wanted to put that out there. Open to talking about it further though.

Deadloch's finale was incredibly satisfying.
Really impressed with this show from the start, but I had worried it was going to fumble the landing after setting so much in motion. The last ep is out though, and for me it just sealed the deal, this show came out of almost nowhere to be one of the best of the year, it's an absolute gem.
There's a lot to be said for figuring out what viewers would want to see or want to get answered, and then delivering on it, and I feel like that's a bit of a lost art these days with the rushed, scattered feel of a lot of stuff coming from streamers. This was just really, consistently well made from start to finish, and you can feel the same oddball passion project investment and tone in ep 8 as you did in ep 1.
I laughed, I gasped, I got really unexpectedly invested in the mystery and the characters, and I thought the finale did a great job upping the ante just that last little bit all round - the opening stuff with the victim stumbling around screaming was genuinely horrifying, so just balancing something like that with the density of gags that come after is quite a feat in itself.
The pace was maybe a bit over-frantic near the end, to be fair, but not enough to cost it much, and in the meantime so much was wrapped up so well it felt like I'd been watching this cast for years instead of a few weeks. I think they paid off on just about everything I'd had on my mind when I was speculating, even if they'd teased the prospect of leaving it hanging at first.
Really interesting illustration of just how important writing is to something succeeding or failing too, in a lot of ways. The two writers worked on it for years together, and it really shines through in how well crafted it is, both character wise, and in terms of the clues and red herrings laid out for you to pick up. The twists felt shocking without just being shocks for the sake of it - I mean they were dramatic and surprising, but they still generally made sense, and if you go back and check the steps to get there were set out from the beginning, so reveals felt like a payoff rather than just cheap tricks. I haven’t gotten that sense of solid craft from much else Amazon's done, and nothing Netflix has done for ages.
I did guess the killer at one point, sure, but I'd guessed everyone at some point, so it didn't feel like a let down to be right, and more like I'd done well to follow the right breadcrumb trail.
My sole gripe is that I felt the action stuff was a little clumsy and stagey compared to how well done everything else was, so during the final confrontation the cops look a bit sluggish and doofy. Fairly minor in the scheme of things though, and like I say, the writing - and indeed performances - were so strong I only mention that to be thorough.
What did anybody else think? Did you call the killer right? Would you be up for an S2 in Darwin, or better to leave as-is?

Who are the most unhinged TWD characters ever?
I think the Governor, Alpha and Beta. Beta was totally out of touch with reality and probably would have been a homicidal maniac in the “real world.” The Governor was a sociopath and killed without remorse. Martinez saved him from the pit, and he still killed him. Alpha was a serial killer with no regard for human life. Simon would be a runner up for craziest character because he was homicidal, too. People who kill without a conscious are the most dangerous.

Growing up with twd
I’m just finding the time to sit down and watch the first episode of the new spin-off, Dead City.
Within the first 15 minutes i got this insane nostalgic feeling I really didn’t expect to have. However, taking into account the fact that I’ve watched this show consistently since its premiere on my 8th birthday in 2010 Ive realized the strange bond I have with the walking dead universe.
Im not trying to sound corny, and i don’t generally admit that strange feeling to anyone because who tf bonds with a show? But Ive realized how empty the entertainment portion of my amusement/life was without it.
Has anyone else experienced this huge wave of relief/comfort/nostalgia since the release of Dead City?

I dunno if this has been discussed before but does anybody else think It would’ve been so freaking awesome if they never revealed Rick was alive at the end of 9x05? I feel like it would’ve been so cool to let fans think he was truly gone just for him to pop up at the end of season 11. FROM Season 2 Episode 10 season finale and beyond
I am NOT going to give away spoilers but this was a good episode. I have read rumors that they are going for a season 3 of FROM but with the writer's strike going on it might be a while.
I sure hope that they do renew this. Ending on a cliffhanger like this is torture.

I'm never that invested on character ships on ANY show but this? This hurt. I don't know what Daryl's show is gonna do or if Connie is gonna be in it or what but not giving us this relationship after the PERFECTION that was the setup? That was just cruel.

Dead city feels like old school Walking Dead
I am really loving this show, both episodes have been fantastic and it has the feel of old school The Walking Dead. The cinematography has been fantastic too and it has a movie type feel, I hope that the rest of the spin-offs are as good as this show.

What are some TWD takes/perceptions you're sick of seeing?
The one I dislike the most usually goes along the following:
"All the TWD is to find a group of survivors, build a shelter/communit, have community destroyed, fight zombies, and JUST rince and repeat."
While I understand and can respect this criticism of describing the series, I think it is greatly exaggerated. Yes, the series does this, but only really like twice majority (The Prison and then Alexandria) and in the meantime thoughtfully crafts a serialized post-apocalyptic, zombie series all throughout to me.
I think this view is especially unfair and overly simplistic because it does not recognize what TWD is really great at doing. The series does to shake up its formula and story arcs creatively, connect and even introduce new ideas thematically, and adapts the comic book series with fresh and even improved ideas here and there (ehhh..mostly...or...at least a good anount of times lol but still). Daryl and Carol are still goats.
I can probably think of others, but this is one I still see pop up online and IRL frequently even with regards to the spin offs.

Maggie isn't in Virginia anymore folks. Please pay attention.
I'm gonna come off as a prick here, but I'm so tired of seeing it at this point. I'm convinced a lot of you spend more time actively looking for plot holes than actually listening to or watching the info given on screen.
A lot of you seem to think the Croat traveled all the way down to Virginia to take supply drops from Maggie. Why. Maggie never says he came to Hilltop. And why would he waste resources doing that multiple times. That's so incredibly dumb to think that.
Maggie literally tells Negan she and her people are stationed somewhere else. Before we see her shoot the flare gun to signal to her people, they show the New Babylon sign. Meaning her people are stationed somewhere in or around New York state.
This would explain why the Commonwealth wouldn't be very helpful to Maggie anymore, because she's out of their bounds. It also explains why the Croat is suddenly an issue now when he never was before. BECAUSE MAGGIE ISN'T IN VIRGINIA ANYMORE.
That's all thank you.

Such underrated characters
It makes me sad how no one ever talks about these characters because they were amazing:
- Bob - such an upbeat character that always looked for the good in things. Even though he was not on the show long, he was such an amazing character
- Tyrese - one of my favorite characters. Looked like he could rip any other character in the show apart with his bear hands, but was really a teddy bear.
- Dale - my favorite character of the first 2 seasons, the voice for humanity and goodness.
- Abraham - one of my favorites characters. certified badass.

Daryl Dixon series title
For a time there was question on if the series will be called "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon" or not. During production it was referred to as "Raise the Dead", so some people thought an announcement of that title was forthcoming. I think it was just for convenience sake during production because the new snippet confirms the series is called "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon" with a logo.
It's definitely the right choice for a title, especially if we are going to get a personal character story focusing on Daryl. Also because "The Walking Dead: Raise the Dead" just doesn't sound good.

I actually despise the wed support negan from his view
Apparently even the writers have entered this shitty debate; i see this view everywhere.
Negan and take rick for example are no where near comparable, Rick is a bad person, hes a killer, just as negan is, but the difference is in how they kill people, negan kills people publicly, displays it, brags about it, enjoys it etc etc
Not to mention his harem of wives he was raping?
Not to mention the torture?
And people still say ‘but rick kills people too’

One of the best shows ever!
Unreal that they could run a show about a zombie apocalypse and keep it hot for 11 years! Most creative series I've ever watched. The most creative part, for me, were the different types of groups/communities they created to rival our home crew. I'm an obsessive fan of HBO dramas and I'm finally watching Oz
I've seen all the famous HBO shows multiple times, and every once in a while in discussion threads there are side comments about the one that came BEFORE the sopranos. This show is SO much better than I expected. I love how many familiar faces there are on the cast. Dean Winters's character is like a "charisma build" from an RPG, just keep lyin' and keep smilin'. Augustus Hill is a really fantastic character, and I love the 4th wall narration scenes. I think if the show came out today there would be a lot of discussion about the way the show uses Hill and the strength of his actor, but I've never even HEARD of him before! I'm only on season 2 so let's go easy on spoilers.

Personally for me I think one of the scariest aspects of the Walking Dead zombies is that I feel like a part of you is still there trapped in that zombified body with no control over your actions. It's honestly one of the most unsettling thoughts I have.
Ever since the first episode with Morgan's wife. And of course, later on as we even got the "variant" walkers. I know Jenner explains that the host dies and the brain is jump-started again. But still, it's like we don't KNOW, ya know? It's not like in zombie media you got "revert back" to a human.
So I always have this sinking feeling that the human selves that the walkers were, they kind of still exist within the husk of their former body, helpless as they attack their friends. It's like a prison for eternity.
For example, Shane Walker turns so quickly and almost approaches Rick like as if he's still hostile from their recent standoff. It's like some walkers carry that energy of their emotions even past their death, if that makes sense.
I don't know, just 3 A.M. thoughts lmao.

I feel like instead of adding Gracie into the show to make Aaron a dad he shouldve taken Enid in instead.
I thought the whole Gracie situation was pretty stupid. I thought her moments with Aaron were sweet and all that, but she never really added to his character. Enid and Aaron however had this sort of bond that I wish was touched on more. They seem to form a really close bond after Enid kills Natasha during an ambush and I honestly thought it was gonna lead to Aaron possibly taking her in as his own. Especially in season 9 when Aaron trusted her in amputating his arm however, Enid gets killed and she’s largely forgotten about, other than Alden. I feel like if Aaron had taken her in as his own she either A wouldn’t have been killed off, or B, it would’ve added more depth to Aaron and would’ve allowed the writers to show a darker side of him.

season 11: highs and lows
twd writing didnt give Sebastian or lance any chance. supposedly the reason for the mass massacre is weapons that Leah takes. so what does lance do? goes after his own army and makes an alliance with the person who killed 20 of his men and stole the weapons.
Eugene's actor, lance and Sebastian yumiko and princess were all solid for the ending. the writing was not. Lance was 50x more interesting than pamela. until the writers made his motivation nonsensical for the sake of drama siding with Leah and killing riverdale for no reason, oceanside being summed up in 1 line and for whatever reason allowing 'immigrants from riverdale.' the only thing that felt like it was the same show was judith's 'sometimes i wonder' intro preying on nostalgia when things made sense and wasn't gimple'd
Sebastian was a great character but had a better redemption arc in his recorded convo than negan did because he was just being honest. comic book one that gets jealous of rick is much better than what we got, despite the great actors.
Maggie, who once had amazing depth comes back with a brick of wood, especially when she mentions 'georgie' aka i couldnt make my own show work. her only character trait now is she is a bad mother and her son keeps getting kidnaped. probably worse than lori cuz carl never got kidnapped. and now this is going to be the premise of dead city. since it has nothing to do with CRM it is probably the worst and first being pushed out

I'm pretty late to the game and finally watched this show! My coworker brings the show up often, so I finally gave it a shot. I got hooked quick and binge watched all week. Wow the characters in this show are amazing. But today I watched the episode and was totally shocked to see Carl died. In all of my 40 years a tv show hasn't effected me like that episode. I cried the WHOLE episode, went through a box of tissues!! What an amazing job Chandler did on these scenes, but that really pissed me off! I was so mad they offed such a great character, I googled about it and was glad to see it seemed to be most peopled opinion. Im happy I watched the show, but now that Carl died, I'm not going to finish it!

Are they all deaf and blind?
I anyone else bothered by how frequently this happens:
Some characters are having a conversation. They’re in an open area like a clearing or some woods that aren’t very thick, the type of place it would be hard to sneak up on someone. The camera has a tight shot on their faces while they talk so you can’t see their surroundings for about 10 seconds. Suddenly walkers jump into the frame out of nowhere. You couldn’t see or hear them before they were literally on top of the characters. Now they’re snarling and making lots of noise. But no noise as they approached. Whenever you see walkers on camera they constantly make noise, but somehow always sneak up in characters totally silently.
This happens sooooo much it drives me crazy.

Hugely enjoyed The Katering Show, which is very funny, so I tried this out on the basis of the creators' involvement, half expecting something along the lines of Touch of Cloth given the marketing.
It turns out to be probably more in the wheelhouse of Fargo though, and I've been pleasantly surprised by how compelling the actual central murder mystery is in practice. The clues and misdirects are really well laid down - 4 eps in, there are still a bunch of suspects I could talk myself into betting on, and the Scandi noir influence is clear without being full on pastiche.
The characters - well, one particular character - are a little broad in the first eps, but they settle down quickly, and the humor pulls back at the right time to pay out the murder plotline. There is some commentary on murder media and coverage, but it’s integrated deftly enough into the rest not to distract, and I really liked that one particular cliché I expected - the dickhead savant detective - was dodged pretty solidly. Dulcie, the lead, is low key and likeable without being dull, and the blur between her personal life and the case feels very plausible for the kind of small town it is (and the stuff about her wife that initially felt like throwaway comic relief might not be after all)
This week's installment was my favorite yet, and if I have any gripes it's that I'm already sorry the show is about half over when Ep 1 and 2 spent so much time introing everyone. I know that's how these shows tend to be structured, but I'm really enjoying how the team feel now they're working together and I can't see how they could make an S2 work.
I'd strongly recommend folks jump in while it's still running rather than binging it all at once, because it is the kind of show that benefits from leaving you hanging for a few days.
Anyhow, give it a shot. I've heard a bunch of people say they had problems searching it on Amazon because it kept offering them Deadlock, but it is worth digging around for, and if the big strokes of ep 1 put you off, it's worth hanging in there.

5x11 they should have told Aaron about the cannibals
Episode where Aaron tries to take the gang to Alexandria: I think Aaron would be a lot less scared and a lot more accommodating to Rick’s paranoia if someone just said “hey last time this happened they tried to eat us so give him some slack”

What are some of your favorite early season characters?
I personally liked Otis for the time we had with him. The way that Shane did him dirty was a big oof.
I really, really liked Dale. He was one of those characters who had such a great moral compass and I would have loved to see his character development if he survived deeper into the seasons.
For me, the show just hit different pre Alexandria. The total fear and confusion on how to survive and fight in this new world they found themselves in felt so real and visceral. I still enjoyed the show when they made it to Alexandria with the group trying to become civilized once again. But after the time jump, the show just became too convoluted for my tastes, especially when the Commonwealth was introduced.

I just realized Dr. Jenner told the group “It was the French.” The last people that reported in, trying to find a cure. Maybe that’s why Daryl goes there?
Just thought about this.

You start at Season 4 with all of Rick's group. Governor is not an active threat. How do you reinforce the prison and what does your prison (you join Rick's group as a council member eventually) look like in 5 years? (You lose no key people from the flu)
