It's criminal that Vera Farmiga never won a major award for her portrayal of Norma Bates in Bates Motel.

Almost finished the first season of Bates Motel, and I'm in awe of Vera. Her Norma is captivating and she completely disappears in the role. Any idea why she didn't gain much recognition?

Quick Question for anyone who has already seen episode 10.1

In the final scene when Daryl and Carol are up on the cliff isn’t this the same spot Alpha took Daryl to show him her heard in Season 9?

Can anyone explain the plot of episode 16?

I'm serious. I watched the entire season and have no idea of the reasoning behind anything.

  1. Wasn't Ginny alright with Morgan an episode or two ago?
  2. Morgan called for help clearing the place and she initially says no. So they plan to use the herd to attack her?
  3. Ginny and crew show up and "arrests" everyone except for Morgan and Grace? This is what I don't understand. Why is she suddenly not ok with them living in the fake west town?

An underrated line.

I’m going through breaking bad for the first time, I aim to finish it by the time the movie comes out, then after the movie, watch better call Saul.

I just got finished watching ‘Cornered’ [S4 EP6] and got very excited as the “I am the one who knocks” line came, I knew the quote from pop culture in general, but with the context it was just 10x better. With that being said, as a first time watcher of breaking bad, I’ve never heard anyone say anything about Skylers fantastic line at the end of the episode.

"someone has to protect this family from the man who protects this family." After so much talk about protection and danger in the past few episodes before, this was a line I needed to hear Skyler say and I might’ve freaked even more for that line than the iconic one from this episode.

[Spoilers] A question for the ladies.....

Soooo when you are pregnant I'm pretty sure you stop menstruating?! And....I say this in fear of my own life but.....you don't really act like you are dying, then fine, then dying every 30 mins. This might get me killed....but you are pretty hormonal and grace hasn't shown any sign of that....in fact she has been pretty calm the whole time. What I'm trying to get at is shouldn't she have known she was pregnant??!! The 'doctor' who told us she was over the radio figured it out within 2 minutes without any equipment.

I’m not buying it.

Morgan and Dwight’s characters would have never made these decisions or acted this way on TWD. In fact, Strand, Daniel, and Alicia have been reduced to worthless compared to who their characters would have been going forward from season 3 of FTWD.

These writers suck and should be fired. Upvote if you agree - they don’t deserve to steer these character’s fate in TWD universe.

Bryan Cranston's ability to convey the fact that he's full of shit is remarkable.

I don't mean his ability to just simply lie.

There are points in the show where I think they want to give the impression that Skylar is well aware of his lie before she even confirms. In scenes like that, Bryan exudes textbook lying tells.

He is always speaking quickly and semi-incoherently. He's intentionally self-deprecating and mildly angry in order to draw the blame elsewhere and distract from the original lie. He'll perform a distracting action in order to appear busy at doing something else while lying (doing dishes, cleaning rug, making a drink etc..)

It's obvious from a viewer's prospective that he's full of shit, but we know he's already capable of lying without any issue, he's done it many times before. I think his ability to convey that trait is insanely impressive. It brings you directly in to Skylar's point of view.

I apologize if this seemed like incoherent babble, but I'm kinda high and re-watching and wanted to share.

[Spoilers] Theory: Everyone who knew the truth about where Maggie went died and that'll be a problem when Keys to the Future suddenly rolls up.

Contains comic spoilers, spoilers for the final antagonists of S5 of FTWD (what group they belong to), speculation about Maggie & TWD S10.

The more we learn about the "keys to the future" group over on FTWD, the more dangerously b.s. they seem to be. All we know from TWD is that Maggie is apparently helping them to build settlements and start up new communities. Based on what we've seen of how Ginny rolls over on Fear, this is... quite the story for Maggie's eventual return and it sets up something kind of interesting when you consider how these two plots might cross over.

Maggie might be in a bit of an unhinged position and she might have been taken in by Georgie and led to believe something about this group before uncovering how dangerous they really are but one thing is for sure-- she's been straight up gone from Hilltop for ages and with Baby Hershel along with her, making it more difficult for her to rebel. For Maggie to leave her people like this-- even after she needed a break-- seems odd and it's now becoming more evident that she's been pulling a Victor Strand for awhile now and long gaming this group. Now, ask yourself: if Keys to the Future has Maggie as one of their community settlers... don't you think they would want Hilltop? Don't you think the first community they'd want her to establish for them would be her own? So, what if Maggie had a plan for that?

What if Maggie's plan was to *pretend* like Hilltop was part of this group so that the people of Hilltop were safe from threat by Keys to the Future? What if she left to basically say like 'yes, I am this loyal to you key-loving crazies and I will for sure help you expand! and in my stead, I'll leave my BFF Jesus to run this community that is, uh, sure, totally yours!'

You're beginning to see the problem, right?

If Maggie told anyone the truth about Keys to the Future and why she left, it was one or more of three people: Jesus, Tara and/or Enid. All three of them would not have told another soul in order to protect Maggie, her son, and Hilltop. All three of them are now dead. And that's if Maggie told anyone at all.

In other words, if something happens to prompt Keys to the Future to pay a visit to Hilltop, they'll roll in acting like they own the place.

Hilltop has signed the treaty with Alexandria, the semi-fallen Kingdom, and Oceanside. They're about to go to war with the group that has Maggie and Hershel. The group that is basically a bunch of half-witted Negans pretending to be Saviors only to not exactly honor a 'people are resources' code.

And you know who that is going to piss off. And you know who needs a redemption plot after Carol steals killing Alpha from him. And you know who owes The Widow and her son one-- a big one.

It's Negan time.

[Spoilers] Now that Game of Thrones has ended (and left a good amount of people disappointed) what would you score the show on a scale from 1 to 10?

I wanted to ask this because I am curious what everyone's final impression of the show is. I know for me, it is easy to say that if the show were only seasons 1 through 4 it would easily be in my top 5 TV shows ever. Unfortunately, to me, seasons 5 - 8 is not nearly as good (7 and 8 are particularly unwatchable) and that drop in quality brings down my overall impression of the show. Seasons 1 - 4 is about a 9 out of 10 for me while the show as a whole is more of a 6 or 7.

What do you all think? Do the later seasons (if you dislike them) sour the experience of the first half of the show? Or do seasons 5 through 8 not affect your feelings? OR do you think the entire show is great?

"El Camino" Title meaning

Besides Todd's car being an El Camino, I think it may be a reference to something else in the series.

In S03E01 "No mas", while Jesse is in rehab, he has a conversation with the leading guy that goes like this:
-"self-hatred, guilt, it acomplishes nothing, it just stands in the way"

-"stands in the way of what?"

-"true change"

In spanish, "El camino" means "the way"

Am I crazy or has Daryl’s voice changed over the years?

I was re-watching seasons 1-9 and watched the season 10 trailer and I felt as if Daryl’s voice has gotten raspier as the seasons went on. At first, I thought it was because it’s been 10 years now since the show first aired and that Norman is just getting older so it’s probably not a big deal, but then I watched a few recent interviews with Norman and he still sounds like he did 10 years ago, so I guess it’s not an age thing? Maybe?

I don’t know, maybe I’m just being crazy, but what do y’all think?

For instance was thinking since Mike told Ziegler before he died that there would be a story that would publicly explain what happened to him so that his wife doesn't go to the police. Well the Germans would see that story so what if they decide to blackmail somehow after threatening to go to the police? I'm so anxious to know what develops with them and if a further plot develops, perhaps even being introduced to Marguerite.

It's really a shame, but I really felt annoyed by a lot of this documentary. The content it's focused on is great, but there's so many segments about how bills mind is a super computer and a workaholic, and I just found it got really old.

It's a very weird feeling, because I actually find their work with the foundation interesting, but I disliked the documentary a lot because I found it so fake and holier then thou, even though they're doing great stuff with the foundation.

[Spoilers] How many boars could Robert take in his prime?

When Robert Baratheon met his death against the Great Boar, to say he was well past his prime would be putting it mildly. The man was obese from years, if not decades, of overeating and drinking. He hadn't fought anyone in years, as he himself pointed out. Not to mention, he was even more intoxicated than usual, due to drinking extra extra strong-wine that Lancel had prepared for him at Cersei's command. In the end, the boar was able to do to King Robert what the Night King failed to do to Jon or Dany - kill a powerful monarch, and in turn cause a massive crisis to overtake the world.

Yet we must not remember that Bobby B did not go gentle into the night, oh no. Bobby B made sure to take the beast down with him, even as rusty as he was due to decades of not fighting, on top of him having let himself go to binge drinking and eating, on top of him being even more intoxicated than usual due to Cersei's evil plots. The beast was then cooked and produced enough meat to seemingly feed Tyrion and Jaime all the way into S4, where the brothers are reunited after a series of events separated them in S1 alone (including the war that the boar had unwittingly caused).

Knowing that the US is about to deal with its own boar invasion from Canada and knowing that Robert in his prime was a beast of a man, how many boars do you think Robert could kill on his own? Assume that he has his war hammer, badass stag helmet, armor, Rheagar-killing rage, glowing eyes, the works, etc... Assume that he will fight 30-50 feral hogs on his own. If that's too unfair to Robert, cut that number in half.

I'm assuming that a non-drunk Robert could at least take 2 boars and possibly 3 on his own without the warhammer. With it, he could take up to 5. In his prime, I could see him taking 10 without armor - 15 with. I don't think he makes it, but maybe someone can convince me otherwise.

Just fucking reboot it already.

And I don't mean start from the beginning again, I mean continue where it left of from season 3. What about seasons 4 and 5? Just throw the whole thing away! Reboot those God awful seasons, and for the love of God don't let Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss be a part of it, fire them! Fucking beg Dave Erickson to come back with the rest of his crew. We clearly won't complain if this happens, hell we'd be stoked. Removing the current seasons 4 and 5 wouldn't ruin any continuity for the main and the up coming movies.

WhY iS MoRgAn GoNe iN tHe mAiN sHoW?

Idk, but he's gone, somewhere far we can assume, him being in Texas with the Fear crew doesn't change anything that happens in the main show.

BuT tHeY'rE sEtTiGg HiM uP tO bE iN tHe RiCk MoViEs!

[SPOILERS] Which characters alive and dead would be...

Considered an “A” by the CRM?

It’s been reveled the an “A” is somebody who has leadership capabilities AND is willing to fight

For sure I think we can all agree:

Rick, Negan, Michonne, and Maggie (bc, no duh)

And Gabriel (?) bc Jadis/Anne said so

But what about the rest of the characters?

Jadis herself?

Daryl? Carol? They both can fight, but I’m don’t think they possess the leadership capabilities like the main community leaders

Ezekiel? While he is a leader and he CAN fight, it seems as though he prefers to be a pacifist

Cyndie?

Jesus? He led Hilltop, but like Ezekiel, it looks like he isn’t AS willing to fight like the others

Morgan? I mean, he is leading the group in Fear, but he tends to flip between “Clear” and Pacifist as the plot continues

Herschel?

The Governor?

Gareth?

Alpha?

Beta?

Magna?

What do guys think? Agree? Disagree?

Good lord, The West Wing is phenomenal.

I'm only through the first 3 seasons, but I'm constantly blown away by how poignant the writing is. It feels like exactly what the doctor ordered in today's political landscape. Honestly makes me sad about the current state of affairs. The character building is incredible and compelling, each episode's story lines are fresh and interesting. So far, the show keeps getting better and better. Acting is fantastic, dialogue is sharp, witty, emotionally engaging, uplifting, and funny. Not surprised at all that this is considered one of the best dramas of all time. Just had to get it out there. Young people (i'm 24) you should definitely give this one a shot. And it's on netflix!

So... THAT was the 'big change' they were talking about all this time. Really?

The season finale was ''better'' than the rest of the episodes but that's not saying much, the writing sucked as usual and this season was atrocious.

I was suspecting before the finale, that all that bullshit about a 'big change at the end of this season' it was nothing more than marketing... and guess what, I wasn't wrong.

Nothing really happened, we had the wedding of June and John (cringe-worthy like always), and Morgan was shot by Virginia at the end of the episode (non-deadly shot)... she could've killed him but instead she left him bleeding/'dying' alone with walkers coming his way... end credits... (idk about you but that reminded me about a particular scene from TWD season 9), nice copy-paste.

So tell me, did I miss something? 'cause unless Morgan is leaving the show (which is unlikely), there is no 'big change' in this season at all.

PD: I'm glad there's still people uploading the episodes on the internet, so I don't 'HeLp' this shit show with the ratings.

The Walking Dead - SURVIVOR (Season Seven, Round Thirteen)

Welcome back to The Walking Dead: Survivor!

The twelfth round of Season 7 has passed! For some reason that is beyond my comprehension, Hearts Still Beating took the brunt of the votes over Sing Me a Song, making it the fourteenth and penultimate episode of the seventh season to be eliminated.

Next round, we move onto the cinematic masterpiece that is Season 8, filled with beautiful cinematography, believable and grounded acting, and a moving, well-paced, logical narrative (/s to all of those for the sarcasm-impaired). But for now, may the best episode win!

Discuss your thoughts: what episode should win? What episode should lose? What episode did you forget even existed? Please remember to follow both the sub rules and basic Reddiquette.

Bojack Horseman was CANCELED by Netflix, not ending by the creator's decision.

Wanted to clarify the misconception I've seen going around that the writers choose to wrap things up next Season. This isn't true, as it was Netflix's decision to end the show.

https://twitter.com/aaronpaul_8/status/1177711341819138048?s=09

Don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but this comes after Netflix canceled Tuca and Bertie. For those unaware, both shows are made by the same animation studio, which recently unionized. There were rumors that Netflix didn't like this and it lead to T&B getting canned after a single season, which may have weight now that Bojack got prematurely canceled as well.

Edit: There's also the fact that Tuca and Bertie had very little to no advertising when it came out. And unless I'm mistaken, the announcement for this next season of Bojack came way later usual.

Damn season 3 was crazy good. Dont think i have watched a show/season this good this year yet! But i heard/know the show changes a lot with the start of s4, so im asking if i should go on? I kinda want to, since the ending of s3 wasnt to satisfying (kept things a little bit to open to just stop watching/caring), but on the other hand if the quality drops a lot (what i heard) i dont rly have the time for some mediocre / shitty stuff.

But again season 3 was just WOW

what to steam/binge watch while Better Call Saul is off-season?

Hi. Ok, Better Call Saul on vacation and I'm kind of newish to streaming in general. I would love some recommendations. I do NOT like monsters, heavy fantasy, supernatural, westerns (with exception of "Westworld" which I tried, war and vampires. I also don't usually like shows set before 1950ish or way in the future. Some favorites include:

*Breaking Bad (went through the entire thing in 1 week)!!

*Better Call Saul (although I do not like this as much as Breaking Bad)

*The Sopranos

*Billions

*Succession

*Curb Your Enthusiasm

*The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

*Seinfeld

*Schitt's Creek (although a bit silly)

*The Good Wife

I love shows set in NYC but others above too. All suggestions welcome. I am good with political, entertainment related, legal or MD shows too!

Death shouldn't be cliffhangers across seasons

For anything, including the twd series.

Your story should be good enough that the audience are left asking 'what happens next' as the cliff hanger, not 'who will die next' (in s6e16 twd case) or 'will he die' (seemingly s5e16 ftwd).

Look at breaking bad, it never did that. And people loved it. Be confident in your story that the story will drive audience to view the next seasons.

Predictions for the finale

Plenty of spoilers ahead. Here are my predictions for the Fear finale this Sunday. It’s been a terrific season, and I think we’re in for an exciting episode.

As you may have heard, Fear is promising to have a big surprise in this season finale. The show runners have promised major changes leading into season 6. I think this is true. We’re in for a seismic shift this season.

Let’s start with something obvious. Something fans have agreed on and clamored for over the past two seasons: there needs to be more of a magical fantasy element to Fear the Walking Dead.

Remember the storyline about the dam in Mexico? The whole time I was watching that, I was thinking about how great it would be if the story crossed over with the most gritty movie of all time; “Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause”. As it turned out, I think that movie was a pioneer of the type of world that Fear wanted to create.

In that theme, my prediction is that Fear S5’s finale will relegate the zombie premise to the background and transition to a much more thrilling story line: Morgan and the gang opening a candy shop…with magical consequences. The name of the show will also change to:

Fear the Walking Dead: Candy Beansies

Morgan and the gang are going to stumble upon a Main Street storefront to house their bakery, with a twist: the store will have extraordinary powers. The gang sets out to create jelly beans to sell to their friends, but instead create a magical jelly beansie which, when eaten, allows them to travel through time and help people at various stages throughout history.

Fear’s story will now follow Morgan and the gang as they all eat a jelly beansie at the beginning of each episode, then travel Magic Schoolbus Style into the past - or the future, where they will not only assist figures in need, but learn something about history - and themselves, too.

Look. At the end of the day, AMC knows what its audience wants. We want to see Fear follow the grittier styles of movies like ‘Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed’ and ‘Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium’ crossed with zombies and apocalyptic drama. It’s going to be great television.

Thank you Ian and Andrew for a visionary season, and thank you Scott Gimple for realizing what the point of The Walking Dead has been about since the start. I really think Fear the Candy Beansies will be the top-rated show on television.

Michonne and the baby formula

I’ve found it interesting that Michonne’s first appearance with the core group was when she brought baby formula for Judith. Probably unintentionally done but it was the ultimate foreshadowing. Michonne ends up her mother far into the future and it all started by bringing her formula.

You could tell when Michonne watched Glenn and Magee get kidnapped that she didn’t really know what to do but she took a leap of faith...that decision changed her life forever. Pretty cool.

"Quite a Ride" mystery solved in "El Camino"?

Has this been brought up yet? I looked for it and couldn't find anyone mentioning this on this sub, so:

I'm really hoping that in El Camino we get to find out who Francesca is supposed to call and tell that Jimmy sent her. I know it's supposed to be Jesse's story, but I could imagine this happening/that cold open being a reference to something in the film.

I could see this actually happening because it's obviously something that is intended to be revealed, rather than some random throwaway line.

And based on what I know about the writing process of these folks based on interviews, etc., they typically don't plan too far ahead in terms of plot points like this, yet this seems like an overt nod to a preconceived idea - an idea that wouldn't necessarily be revealed in season 5 (based on what we can reasonably assume season 5 will entail).

This makes me think that this bit was in this episode's cold open because it's related to either a plot point or scene in the movie, which would have been being written (or already written) around the same time.

Maybe?

Exciting stuff.

Unpopular(?) opinion, but I don’t want BCS to pick up the pace TOO much toward the end of its run.

While I’m absolutely game for an intense and hard-hitting finale to the entire show, I don’t want it to become something it’s not.

BCS has always been a slow-burning, character driven, tragedy-drama. If it goes off the rails with its action and intensity, it will feel more like its trying to recapture BB’s final two seasons.

I can’t wait for the day I can watch both shows (plus El Camino) in chronological order, and the slow-burn of BCS will make the explosive heights of BB, that much more satisfying and explosive.

They really need to take Morgan, Alicia, Dwight, Daniel, John, and Strand and move them to one of the other Walking Dead properties because at this point this show needs to end. It’s utterly embarrassing to the franchise and to the stellar characters and actors. Hopefully at the “Walking Dead Universe” Panel at NYCC we get some answers to at least something! Negan is the best charecter in TWD comic prove me wrong.

Negan is by far the most complex and most thought out charecter Kirman has ever created. Now as we all know Negan is the main antagonist of An All Out War. Durint that time Negan killed our home boy Glenn and mercilessly tried to kill Rick and others. How ever this is not what makes Negan who is. What defines his charecter is the respect who holds for those strong and those he holds dear. Negan also lives by being strong, he belives those who pretend to be strong to be batted away ;) Negan does not belive the weak should be preyed upon, his duty is to protect the weak. Now as we see Negan does not allow rape, this is due to his strong stance on protecting the weak. This is likley due to the heartbrake his wifes cancer caused him. Althrough once she died he pulled a rick and the telephone and began talking to her through his bat lucille, this was his wife and he was protecting her. However from this desire to prtect the weak he had to become the strongest therefore he became a monster. But we do not see his true self until he meets Carl for the first time where he truly respects this boy and sees him as an equal. Now once we first saw this admiration after his imprisonment Negan took a parental role on Carl and in a sense saw himself in carl and wanted to nuture this. But that baton of admiration he had for carl was passed to the bigger turkey that is Rick. As we see in the whisperers war Negan is undeniably loyal to Rick, doing every thing he can to be respected by rick. This is because Rick has surpassed him as alpha. Once Negan has sunk hes still trying to remain strong and protect the weak however lucille breaks, and he realises he cant protect anyone anymore....

[Spoilers] Tyrion's best speech

Here are Tyrion's many speeches, ranked in order of time:

  1. Tyrion's ''confession'' at the Vale.
  2. Tyrion's speech to the Lannister army at the Battle of Blackwater.
  3. Tyrion's trial in King's Landing, where he was falsely accused of murdering Joffrey.

Personally, all three of them were awesome...just in different ways. The Vale confession did a great job showcasing Tyrion's wits and excellent sense of humor (at the expense of others). The Blackwater speech was just super epic and somehow cynical while in a weird way also being inspirational and even noble. The KL speech was both heartbreaking and insanely powerful, where Tyrion finally managed to let out a lot of his pent-up anger and hate at the way people treated him for being a dwarf as well as the way his own family and lover conspired to betray him.

I'd rank them in the following order: 3, 2, and 1. Peter Dinklage did a brilliant job in all three cases, but 3 and 2 speeches literally give me the chills. 3 the speech is so good I can't help rewatching it every now and then.

Which one would you choose?

P.S. You can choose another, if it's not on that list. Even the ''and who has a better story'' speech in S8 :p

Do you think it would've been a smarter decision for Rick and the group to find like some massive mansion/ estate and bunker that down?

I honestly feel like they could've clean it free of walkers, create perimeter defenses, and relatively safe lives. Like they don't have to leave the premises whatsoever unless it's for supplies and food. Not only this, but it'd be pretty difficult for walkers to sneak up on them especially if it's in broad daylight. It's almost fool proof, do correct me if I'm wrong though.

AMC thinks it's OK to air garbage what's to stop them from destroying the main show? They obviously don't care about keeping viewers.

S3E1 Mabel

While watching BCS again, I felt intrigued by the book Chuck says he read to Jimmy in their youth: The Adventures of Mabel and looked it up on Amazon (https://smile.amazon.com/Adventures-Mabel-Classic-Reprint/dp/1451004826/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=the+adventures+of+Mabel) It's such a small moment but also the title of the whole episode. Any ideas on the significance of it or why the episode would be named after this book?

I really sympathized with "The Governor" upon rewatching.

I remember years ago watching weekly wanting him dead every episode. Even in mid season 4 cameo and especially towards the end.

Now upon rewatch I see more depth in his character.

S4: E6 Live Bait is the complete compassionate, human side left of "The Governor" in it's full beauty. The writing of this episode was so well thought through.

I love the idea that he could be both horrible, careless and a little good at the same time.

Just finished season nine! OMG!

It took me this long because season eight really killed the series for me. I thought it was easily the worst season of the series. I got caught up on other shows and made the decision to watch season nine once Netflix put it on.

Season nine was amazing! Light years better than season eight. I can't remember the last time an episode made me cry. Season nine managed to make me do it twice (episodes 5 and 15).

I didn't look look up anything for this season, didn't talk about it, etc. because I thought I was done watching the show. Everything that happened, the people that died, all of it was a surprise to me. I got to watch an entire season spoiler-free and it was amazing. "The Calm Before" might be too three episodes ever.

Anyway. There is no real point to this post other than me wanting to let all of you people who do not care about me that I'm very happy the I decided to give the show another shot. Can't wait for season ten!

So, I’m at home with my parents until I find a new place. Basically, I have cable now and it’s pretty lame having season 4 to buy for like 18$. Honestly, I’m not surprised given they’re with AMC.

Well, my dad’s awesome and said I can just get it so now I’m watching!! Already on episode 4 and I’m blown away. I have no words right now. I’m just in the thick of it.

The ''plot'' seems to be taken from a kids show

The reason why Morgan and his group have Virginia's group is because Virginia has no problem to dispose people that have no value to their group, while Morgan thinks that everyone is valuable and should be helped. This seems to be big reason why Morgan and the others hate her and don't want her help.

It's like I'm watching a kids show. On the Pokémon anime there was a trainer named Paul that released weak Pokémon, while Ash thought that every Pokémon has value, and decides to captur a Pokémon that Paul had released. During their last battle at the League Ash defeated Paul using the Pokémon that Paul had released earlier, thus teaching him a lesson. I don't mind that Pokémon uses this plot, it's a kids show, after all. But FTWD using it is so dumb and stupid. We all know how this will go through - by the end Virginia will realize that every life is precious and that she shouldn't dispose of people that she deems unvaluable. Boring. Boring. Boring.

And it is so unrealistic. Virginia is a ''nice'' villain, always letting Morgan go (I actually liked that she called that herd because FINALLY she was doing something bad), and I'm sure that in real life she wouldn't be suggesting that they leave a sick person behind just because. It doesn't make sense, people are not that one-dimensional.

Ever wondered?

How good the show could have potentially been without following the comics?

Been a fan of the show since the start and will watch it through to the very end no matter what, even after some rougher seasons it will go down as one of my favourite shows of all time. But during the break I had a thought one day, what if they never followed the comic story-lines and went a completely different direction and wrote a separate story start to finish and introduced whatever characters they wanted. Don't get me wrong loved season 9 and The Whisperers but just curious.

It didn't really click until this latest rewatch, but... Skyler got dealt such a shit hand

I know I have nothing new here to say (I'm sure whatever I say has been said a million times over), but I just wanted to talk about it with someone! Like many, on my first time through the show I just couldn't stand Skyler. I thought she was bitchy, uptight, and she was ruining our poor hero Walt's dream! As I watched the show more, I realized how awful Walt was, but I still didn't like Skyler. There was just something about her that got on my nerves.

But on this latest rewatch, it finally all clicked into place, and I just felt so sorry for her. Let's break down her life on the show:

  • She gets unexpectedly pregnant with Holly while they're barely affording end's meet

  • Walt gets diagnosed (which Skyler doesn't know yet) and he just starts wandering off. She doesn't know where he's going, and finds out that he's been lying to her about working at the car wash.

  • She learns that Walt has cancer, which is of course incredibly upsetting

  • She thinks that Elliott and Gretchen are paying for Walt's treatment

  • Somewhere around here, she starts having suspicions about the second cell phone

  • Skyler gets held and accused for shoplifting when she tries to return the bracelet that Marie gives her

  • Walt disappears for a few days when he gets kidnapped by Tuco, of course causing her to go out of her mind

  • Skyler gets her old accounting job back, and gets roped into cooking the books for Ted

  • Walt misses Holly's birth

  • Walt reveals that he did have a second cell phone when going under for surgery

  • Skyler makes him move out because of the lies, and then learns that he makes meth

  • Walter Jr. basically hates her and thinks that she's being a raging bitch

  • Walt forces himself back into the house, Skyler calls the police on him, but they can't do anything

  • Hank gets shot, and Skyler knows that Walt is involved with it somehow

  • Knowing that she basically has no choice, she gets further involved in the details of Walt's money laundering

  • Skyler comes up with the story about the gambling winnings to buy the car wash

  • Walt basically tells Hank that he's Heisenberg when drunk at dinner, which of course stresses her out even more

  • Walt also buys Jr. the Challenger, making her wonder how they can explain it to anyone

  • She gets even further stressed when she finds out how much Walt makes, and has no idea how she's going to launder that much money

  • Ted comes to her to say that the IRS is auditing him, which means that the IRS could come for her if they audit him

  • Skyler gives Ted the money to pay off the IRS but he doesn't use it and doesn't pay them off

  • Walt basically tells Skyler that he was the one that killed Gus, and she learns how easily Walt handles killing

That's only up through season 4, but it's just like... holy shit. When you really start and pay attention to it, she just gets bad hand after bad hand. Walt keeps spiraling down and he drags her down with him. It's so sad.

What happened to the emphasis on music?

The show used to have a real emphasis on music with characters having their own songs in a sense; the songs marked a change in character or an important arc.

Such as:

Clutch - the regulator The song plays as Rick kills someone for the first time, in the episode Nebraska S2E8.

Wye Oak - Civilain 18 Miles out S2E10, song plays during, IMO, one of the best scenes of the series - where Shane stares at a lone walker in a field.

Ben Nichols - last pale light in the west I cant remember what episode this song plays, but its deemed the governors song.

Ben Howard - oats in the water Hershels song. Plays as he re-enters the quarantined area of the prison during the outbreak of the killer illness.

I can name many more as a lot of them are just great songs and artists in general (check all of Ben Howard's stuff out - truly a great artist)

Anywho, these songs had such an impact and really became a part of the character, and besides once in season 9, the music hasn't really been a big part of the show anymore -- yet again, just an opinion. Would really have loved to see those songs make another appearance for us big fans of the show.

Clutch - the regulator should have been played at some point during all out war, would have been awesome.

A little rant..

You know what all this “Season 5 Fans” vs. “Fear haters” drama feels like? It’s like your “Horror Halloween Sleepover” got overrun by kids and they are all playing with their toys and screaming all over the house and you and your friends are in the kitchen, bored, waiting for it to be over or for your ride to come rescue you.

These Fear fans don’t realize what show they are praising... This is a zombie show for gods sake. This season stained TWD Universe forever. It’s not supposed to be like this. Madison and her kids were supposed to be kicking ass against the proctors. Morgan should be in the main show. But instead we’re having a battle to see who vlogs the best while their friends could use some help. I have no idea how Gimple and these 2 Dildo heads still have a job.. Hasn’t AMC learned from the past? Jfc

Could FTWD become a cult classic?

I haven't been hooked on a show this hard since Lost(2004-2010). Yes it's painful watching it unfold in real time but it's also absurd and hilarious reading fans comments after each episode. A TV show unfolding like this must be unprecedented. It's really hard to imagine what will be the legacy of FTWD.

A conspiracy I have.....

Since the marketing has been very very very heavy on Carol and Daryl together and even some of the actors are beginning to act like they’re about to get together(look at Norman’s latest Instagram post), I think this is a mislead and Daryl and Connie will happen.

The Walking Dead is known to have extremely misleading marketing, so I think this is part of it.

At least I hope. I’m on team Donnie lmao.

On my 3rd re-watch, S4E11, Jessie absolutely hates Walt at this point and for good reason, really really despised him, but then went out of his way to specifically protect Walt from Gus. I think this clearly puts Pinkman in the “good dude” category, despite his many faults.

Kirkman said Daryl is straight in 2014...Connie and Daryl are bonding...

But I can’t stop hoping it’s all a trick. Maybe they’re red herrings so we’ll surprised when Daryl IS gay after all. I know it’s a stretch but I want this so bad man. Please god if you’re out there give me a gay daryl please god if u can hear me

I'm amazed by how much Jim and Kim love each other.

...while still maintaining their own selfs. i'm amazd tho how far they're willing to go for each other and by how much they care for each other. It remembers me of Morticia and Gomez sometimes.

I'm at the start of s4 tho not sure what could happen but so far that's like the best couple i've seen in a while in TV.

Remember when people thought Troy was coming back?

If he did, it a). wouldn’t make sense. b). his character would be completely ruined.

I mean, to see Troy become all nice and peaceful like all the do gooders would’ve been the worst thing ever. To go from s3 Troy that was all about death and destruction to THAT would have been completely horrible. He is one of my favorite characters, but I’m glad he died (still sobbing though) so he didn’t have to be Gimple-ized.

I just spent a weekend in an AirBNB with no TV setting controls and (as you might guess) motion smoothing turned on. It was horrible. News, action movies, reality shows, sports -- all garbage. Even my wife who never notices TV quality was appalled. What can we do to end this scourge?

Three Scenes That I’ll NEVER Forget

For me, there have been three scenes that I feel like will haunt me forever and that were so brilliantly executed I don’t understand why this show doesn’t have a bunch of Emmys. The first was when the doctor at the CDC whispered something to Rick. We all know what it was now. But the expression on ricks face and just the whole execution of that brief scene was unbelievable. The second was Sophia emerging from the barn as a walker. Again, the execution and the music and the sounds and just everything. The third was the season nine pike scene. It haunts me. Once again, it’s not just what it was but the way it was carried out. Absolutely brilliant. Do you agree with any of these? How about some of your own?

Season 3 Finale | Chuck

Chuck’s demise... wow. There’s something so apocalyptic, so harrowing, so hopeless watching a mighty character like Chuck McGill fall.

The last scene was especially dark, I can’t put my finger on it. The way he kicks his desk periodically, his bloodshot yet accepting-of-death eyes, the way his newly refurbished house silently starts to burn to flames and then cuts to black before we see any more of it.

Also, the damaged and ripped up walls gave me Frankenstein vibes. It’s like he was trapped in his own mind, his house a metaphor to convey his mental imprisonment.

I just rewatched season 1, and honestly I cant get over how good it is. Honestly, if better call saul never got renewed, I would be satisfied with how it ended and it really gives great insight into who Saul is and how he became who he is. Its like its own limited series, and if they decided to end it at episode 10, I would be ok.

America's Got Talent should really stop allowing singers to compete.

So I haven't kept up with Americas's Got Talent since season four. Back then, it succeeded in what it sets out to do, for us at least. It was a show I watched with my family, we would discuss the acts and who we hoped would win, we would laugh along when the judges would get into hijinks or whenever Nick Cannon would step on stage to poke fun at the act or judges.

That's a discussion for another time, the way American reality competition shows hardly focus on the acts in preference of sob stories and drama. Even if they did focus on the acts more, it'd be boring. I looked on Wikipedia and half of all of the winners have been singers. I get that singing is a talent and, I mean, it's not their fault that they won. But you have the one competition show that can feature really interesting, niche acts. But instead half of the winners are singers, the same singers who could have performed on any of the other singing shows.

And that's another thing. These other shows have some other hurdle for the singers to overcome. In The Voice, the judges don't see the singers, just listen. In American Idol, you have to sing for your first audition in an awkward, silent room. In America's Got Talent, you can do whatever the fuck you want. Sing your own song, sing karaoke, sing to a backing track, sing by yourself. There's no restriction of any kind to keep it engaging.

I almost wish they would ban dancing as well. There's shows for that too and if you look at the lists, so many singers and runner-ups are either just singers or dancers. Singers are easy to like, especially if they have a sob story that AGT likes to shove down your throat. I remember one act I saw of this dude who would move sand around and make different artwork on stage. That was really cool, I'd love to see more stuff like that. Pretty sure a singer won that year.

It's just irritating. You have an idea for a show that could be really engaging and show off a lot of unique talents, but they don't give a fuck. Let them sing and people will watch. I happened to see a headline showing the recent winner and watched a video. Yeah he just sat behind a piano and sang. Pretty good, admittedly, but he would have been pretty good on American Idol or The Voice any other shows that only allows singers. Maybe American Idol can start allowing magicians. Then it'd be fair.

Anyway, what was Gus planning to do before Nacho poisoned Hector?

Has Mike experienced his half measure moment which he speaks about in breaking bad regarding Lydia?

I’m late to the party but I just finished the final episode of season 4 today. I expected Mike to save Werner, as in breaking bad we learn that Mike made a mistake in the past by taking the half measure, and that he would never do that again. Have we already seen this half measure? I assumed if he saved Werner, something in season 5 would eventually lead to bite him in the butt hence the mention in breaking bad.

Hear me out 9X05 theory

So im watching with subtitles and just noticed that right after the bridge scene it pans to Jadis who is messing with the frequency of her walkie talkie and picks up a conversation of two men talking

Man 1: what was that? Was that the bridge? Man 2: Rick! He blew it to stop the herd!

Then she adjusts the frequency more and you hear a woman say “move north, break up the rest. Bring some guns”.

Immediately after she sees the helicopter and speaks into her walkie talkie without changing the channel or frequency and gets an immediate response from the helicopter group.

Is it implied that the first two men talking and the woman were both others members of our known communities with walkies? In that case wouldnt they two men and the woman be on the same Chanel already?Wouldn't they be on the same channel and Jadis wouldnt need to adjust the frequency twice to speak to any other member of the communities? If not, she would definitely need to change the channel or frequency to talk to the helicopter group and not just leave it on the one where she heard the womans voice right? Or was it implying that the two men she heard were from the helicopter group and they ALREADY knew who rick was somehow and heard them first then a random lady from the group?

OR am I just over thinking the scene?? You tell me

The show Mom finally tipped me over being able to handle laugh tracks

I love sitcoms. I always have. I don't know why, but they just have this simplicity that has always resonated with me and that I've always enjoyed. And even though laugh tracks have always bothered me, it's never been enough that I can't watch the show. I was even able to muscle through the first 9 seasons of The Big Bang Theory and handle the laugh tracks.

I started watching Mom on Hulu. I really like Anna Faris and I had heard that the show was actually quite good, so I decided to give it a shot. I made it six episodes. There's a laugh after almost every line of dialogue, and the dialogue is so corny. With other sitcoms, at least most of the dialogue is actually good, and they just add pointless laugh tracks after it. But with this show, it was just too much. As mentioned before, with other shows it wasn't too much of an issue but I just couldn't handle this show.

To those who have read the Art of War, or The 48 Laws of Power - or maybe even The Book of Five Rings, during the episode "Mother's Mercy", Stannis' army is outnumbered at least 5 to 1 during a failed siege attempt when they were not expecting the enemy's (Bolton's) calvary attack. How would one adapt to this situation, according to the book - obviously Stannis failed the laws of Method and Discipline, The Commander (where he burnt his daughter prior to this episode) and somewhat Moral Law. What maneuver would have been suitable to counteract Bolton's army in this episode?

Caught an interesting detail while watching S5E10 "Buried"

Near the end of "Buried", Hank is talking to Marie about how to expose Walt and take him down. Hank wants to be the one to catch him, but Marie points out that if he waits too long, and Walt is caught, and the DEA find out that he knew about him but said nothing, he'd go to jail too. Hank has no rebuttal to this, and he seems to realize that she's right.

The next day when Hank returns to work, he tells Gomez he wants to set up a conference call with his boss, Ramey. I didn't pick up on this before, but based on how the previous scene ended, it's implied that Hank is about to bring everything forward and tell Ramey about Walt here.

The only thing that stops Hank from spilling his Heisenberg discovery right then and there is that Gomez casually mentions that Jesse was arrested and being questioned. Hank is reminded of Jesse and realizes he can use him to be the one to take down Heisenberg.

So in a way, if Jesse hadn't been arrested for chucking all that money in the street, then Hank would have simply told the DEA chief about Walt, and things would have played out very differently. Just a cool little example of everything being connected.

Perhaps an idea for Fear?

Fear is largely hated at this point and the original show is doing a lot better in season 9. How would you guys feel if Fear got cancelled and a select few Fear characters got drafted over to the original? Of course it would be very controversial but characters like Alycia and Strand could be fun to see on the show. The way they could do this is have Morgan bring them back to Alexandria and then MORGAN DIES! what do you guys think?

I liked Season 4

I stopped watching TWD after season 7 and I only watched season 1 of FTWD.

I decided to catch up on TWD and binged through season 8 (not great but I think it would’ve been worse watching one episode a week rather than speeding through it) and season 9 (which I thought was great, especially after the time jump). I decided to skip to season 4 of FTWD just to see what happened with Morgan and ended up really enjoying it, especially the hurricane stuff.

I guess I’ll go back and watch season 2-3 of this since those are supposedly better? I’m looking forward to being let down by season 5 when it winds up on Hulu.

What I would like to know is how long would it take before the world starts to return to its “normal” state? As in, back to the state it was before the apocalypse.

Would it take decades to centuries before the world starts gaining population and establishing governments again? Or even beginning to advance in technology again? Would it even be able to return at all?

Of course the world would not be what it once was and will most likely be drastically different from how it originally was, but i’m sure it would be close enough.

It’s funny to think that at some point “the Trials” will be something that school kids have to study once the world returns to how it once was.
