Thinking it over, a lot of this show, even in Season 4, comes down to Chuck and his relationship with Jimmy and specifically why Chuck has so much animosity towards and is so obsessed with Jimmy with his stated reason being that "you're not a real lawyer" and "you're like a monkey with a machine gun".
I'll try to keep it short but in the series we see law firms like HHM who at the very beginning are using the law to try to protect delusional people who stole from the taxpayer, and as much as the head of Schweikart and Coakley acts all respecting of Chuck, his firm is on retainer for a company that has elder abuse as a business model. Like what Chuck accuses Jimmy of, none of these lawyers are above using the law to run rampant through society and hurt people with it for profit and pettiness.
But they dress in their expensive suits and drive their german cars and work in their expensive offices and so they present themselves as the most respectable members of society and not as 'the lawyer that guilty people hire'.
And I think Chuck hates Jimmy because Chuck has given his life to, what he should have known, was an utterly and bizarrely extremely naive notion that 'the law is the greatest achievement of human beings, the principle that no matter who you are, if you do something wrong you get punished' (couldn't find the exact quote so this is a paraphrase) while Jimmy shows what all lawyers really are and he couldn't handle it.
