Curious to get opinions here. I didn't read any leaks/spoilers for Season 7 ahead of time and honestly didn't even know there were any. I avoided the trailer, partly by choice. And overall, while I agree with some of the complaints about the writing and plot armor in this season, I generally think it's one of the better ones.
It's probably right in the middle of my rankings. It managed to surprise me as much as any other season of Game of Thrones, it was suspenseful as hell, especially Beyond the Wall, and it was a real spectacle, which I'd expect from the climax of the whole story. So I'm a bit biased towards it, but I still agree with some of the complaints while personally kinda looking past them.
But most of my enjoyment came from not knowing what was gonna happen next, which kept me in suspense. If I'd read the outline of the season's plot ahead of time in the leaks, Beyond the Wall would've been half as good as I thought it was. Even if I'd seen that fanmade poster that somehow circulated onto thousands of websites as the "real" poster, featuring the NK and his ice dragon perched on top of the wall blowing blue fire, it would've made me enjoy the season a lot less. That one simple picture alone basically fucks up the suspense of almost the entire season by telling you exactly where this is going.
So for those who didn't think it was that good - did you read the plot in the leaks beforehand, or did you see any spoilers by accident? Do you think that affected your opinion in any way?
