Walt told Krazy 8 he knew about the broken piece of plate because he didn’t want to straight up murder him. This way, he could justify the killing in his mind by arguing it was in self defense. At that early point in the show, he wasn’t ready to kill in cold blood. That was my interpretation on a rewatch. Thoughts?
