Jimmy was living as a shameless lawyer but didn’t accept the bribe from Walter until he and Jesse kidnapped and threatened him.
Jimmy felt sympathetic for Walter after he recognized his coughing. Jimmy ultimately helps Walter and decides to use him for make more money.
