If you’re ever zip tied to a radiator the way Walt was...

...don’t burn yourself to cut the tie. You can pry back the locking mechanism inside the head of the tie (it’s the piece that grabs the teeth on the tie) and slide it loose. Walt could’ve used his belt buckle, the frame of his glasses, the plug from the coffee maker, or even the loose end of the zip tie to do this. Hard to imagine Mike wouldn’t have thought of that.

Source: My dad is super cheap and always uses a knife or screwdriver to release his zip ties instead of cutting them. I also just tested using the loose end of a tie to release it.
