The writers should’ve left him to die after Clear. Meeting Eastman made him a cool ninja master that treasures life, but Morgan’s new morals don’t belong in this world without morals. They hold him and the group back and he has really nothing to add to the group other than “let’s rethink killing this guy” or “there has to be a better way”. Now he’s moved on to Fear the Walking Dead where the show, without a doubt, has killed off all of its interesting characters to now focus on Morgan. Now they’re being “Morganized” and quite literally take the “higher moral” road of helping people whenever they can. What happened to surviving? Where are the interesting hostilities? Where are the gunfights? Where are the exploding dams and Walker hordes? No where, because Morgan isn’t about that anymore. It’s all about killing walkers and saving kids and two comedic relief truck drivers and a goofy gunslinger who eats caramel.
I think the current status of Morgan and the TWD universe right now is summed up in one of the recent episodes of Fear the Walking Dead. The camera is literally trained on Morgan with his pants down, taking a shit. Yes, for about a minute, we watch Morgan take a shit in a gas station bathroom. AMC, please rethink this. At least salvage Fear.
