New to this sub so I’m sorry if versions of this have already been posted, but I just rewatched the series and then finally watched El Camino (wanted to do the whole thing justice on a rewatch). I will never be convinced this is not the greatest show/universe of all time.
One aspect of Jesse’s life we see throughout is his compassion: most notably for children, but also for animals. There are hardly any animals in the show, but very early he tries to greet one of Crazy 8’s dogs. In BB and also in El Camino, he thoughtfully admires a beetle. He has an appreciation for an insect others might deem ordinary, bothersome, or disgusting (and I think Skinny steps on the beetle in the show, which bothers Jesse a bit).
Because he is suffering from PTSD as a result of his enslavement, all he has witnessed and done—and because he is compassionate towards others, including animals, in a paternal way, I imagine Jesse in Alaska with a dog. He would have someone to care for who would also care for him as he heals through his trauma in a beautiful, rugged place. Seeing how he woke up in a panic that first day of freedom—I would hope a dog might assuage some of that if he were to happen in Alaska. Very little time has actually passed when he lands up there.
It brings me peace to picture this life for Jesse, that’s how I imagine him!
