I just rewatched part of the 3rd Episode of the last Season and just can't accept that she'd lose the plot so quickly after seeing everyone (apart from Cersei) unite against a common threat in the WW.
So my head canon has taken the idea that she certainly did get upset at losing her second Dragon (the circumstances being a bit different to what actually happened) and this caused her to attack King's Landing with all her forces. She saw the damage she caused and the lives lost for no real reason and realised that this was Cersei's intent all along. She was being baited into doing the thing that up until now she had always fought against. So she decides to call off the assault, leaving the assassins to do their bit with Cersei.
Jamie gets his chance to become Queenslayer and fails but Arya actually manages to do the business while at the same time crossing off another name from her silly list. The Hound still kills his brother, there's still a huge remake to be done.
I don't know how Jon x Dany would work, can't say much for Bran the Borked either although I'm sure he didn't mind 'seeing' what went on considering he took his sweet time to inform everyone.
