So we know the show has switched showrunners every couple of years for whatever reasons but it has left the shows cinematography, script style, music, etc, kind of inconsistent.
So season 1 of TWD has Frank Darabont as the showrunner, who left after the first season and I was always curious why and it turns out Darabont wanted each season to be limited to 6 episodes and the budget for each episode to be at X amount (1 75$ million I think) but AMC wanted more episodes with the budget stretched out (which is why we have bottle episodes and shit CGI) so Darabont stayed on during season 2 writing scripts and what not but AMC wanted 16 episodes on less of the original 6 episode season 1 and Daranont cracked shits and left and Jeffrey DeMunn (Dale) actually asked to be killed off the show out of a sort of protest because of his friendship with Darabont.

My question to all of you is;
Do you think the show would've benefited from a 6 episode format with higher budgets per episode or;
Do you think the current season format is better?
I know the idea of more episodes per season immediately sounds better but personally I'd prefer fewer higher quality episodes than more episodes with episodes where basically nothing happens the the last minute of dialogue relates to the main plot arc.
PS. just as a funny sidenote apparently HBO turned down the walking dead due to concerns over violence.
