I'm assuming we're not getting the comic ending. It's just with the D&C spinoff as well as the supposed Rick movie trilogy to come out, I don't see them doing a time-skip similar to what they did in the comics.
For one, Rick is eventually going to see his family again, right? How awkward would a time-skip be seeing old Rick with grown R.J. and Judith when the movies haven't even been released yet? Unless, they decide to keep Rick away from his family for that long. Either way it's weird and I'm curious to see how they tackle that.
Then we have the age problem. I don't see them making D&C too much older before their spinoff. Especially if we're talking seeing the kids as teens or young adults. D&C are already in their late 40's early 50's in the show.
I really want to eventually be able to see Judith, R.J., Hershel R., Gracie, Coco, Adam, and Jerry's kids all grown up in the post-post-apocalypse, but I don't think it'll be possible.
