Hello, Reddit. Little about me comin at you fast: I have always loved comedy but never imagined I would do it. In college, someone who I thought was attractive told me I was funny and that I should try out for the improv team at school, so I did. I was pretty terrible. Improv demands a certain mental freedom that I did not possess an ounce of at the time as I was (and still am) a chronic overthinker. Nicole Byer, an amazing comedian who I owe my...life to?, came to my school to perform and asked if any of the kids from the improv team wanted to open for her, so I volunteered and wrote some stuff, and that was my first-time doing stand-up. I became obsessed with it and started doing open mics all around Los Angeles. The rest is, as they (I) say, Herstory.
