[Spoilers] What was the purpose of Bran telling

Jon about who his parents were? It served no purpose other than to drive a wedge between him and Daenerys to the point where things stopped making any sense in the last half of the finale and Bran ended up king. But when he saw Sam he told him that they needed to tell Jon and then kept pressing Sam for him to tell Jon. It obviously seemed like something that was going to be important. But then at the whatever king selecting council none of the at least 5 people there that knew that Jon was Aegon Targaryen said nothing at all about him being the rightful heir to the throne. Then he just rode north to the nightswatch while Greyworm's troops left anyway.

What was the point of it? Did Bran intentionally just move pieces in place to make Daenerys have a mental breakdown and completely lose it only for Jon to somehow be outcasted as a result? Doesn't this just make Bran the ultimate villain of the story? He had Theon sacrifice himself for no real point other than for Bran's amusement. He didn't do anything else during that entire battle except joy ride some crows the entire time.

And then Sansa is all like well the North will never bend the knee Bran so you must let the North be separate. What? Bran holds lordship over Winterfell and the North over you Sansa. Him being King isn't bending the knee, it's a northern takeover.

He probably caused more death's than anyone else over the course of the show. Just sheer numbers.
