Ive seen the show multiple times through but im going to be showing my brother for the first time. Hes not familiar with the books. I usually give a short preface when showing someone new season 1 since theres a lot of world building, odd names and interconnected histories. Some find that sort of thing overwhelming and hard to get into.

Does anyone else have a run down, warm up or primer for introducing someone new to the immense world of the series?

I understand going in blind, i always give them that choice. I find that people enjoy it a lot more the first time around when they feel like they have a slight grasp on the prior war and a bit of the history - without spoilers ofcourse.

I would like to hear from people who have a similar approach to showing a first time watcher - what kind of main points, relevant histories or context do you think will help someone new get the most out of a first time watch of season 1-3?
