why do series shows always have so many seemingly random people directing every episode?

I feel like sometimes I'll binge a show and it seems like every single episode has a different person directing it.

Maybe the finale will have one of the writers or creators directing it but so many of the mid season episodes just have what seems like a random person directing it...why is that?
