Ok so I just rewatched game of thrones for the first time since it ended and I have to be honest, seasons 7 and 8 really were not that bad, especially watching all the way through.

Quality definitely went downhill from what we were used to in the series but I don’t feel like it fell off of a cliff. Like I would say it was at its worst a high quality television show at the end. Not the iconic phenomenon it was but still good television, like it wasn’t so horrendous. I feel like a lot of people just expected it to be as good as earlier seasons but it was never going to be that good without the books. The last two seasons for me although again not the same iconic feel as the earlier seasons, was still generally very good television. Also upon rewatch season 6 is an absolute masterpiece, and potentially the best season even though it was not the best WRITTEN season.
