So I'm rereading volumes 16 & 17 and it's stated a couple of times that the Hilltop is about 20 miles from Alexandria. The people use cars to travel in between, yet the first time they visit the drive involves an overnight stop halfway there. The next time they visit they leave in the morning and don't arrive until after dinner.
If they have cars why does it take that long? This is something that's bothered me for a long time. The amount of time it takes to travel places is usually what would make sense if they were walking instead of driving.
What gives?
