I'm not that religious, but my mom is, and she watches the show as well. She was watching the episode where Ben and Richard die when she thought of this.
So in that episode, the kingdom is supposed to bring 12 cantaloupes to the drop off. However, we all know that Richard hides one, leaving 11 cantaloupes. Thus leading to Ben's death.
It's a little far fetched, but my mom thought it was somewhat of a parallel to the 12 disciples of Jesus, and then one betrays him, leading to his crucifixion.
Sorry for the rambling post, thought it was neat and figured I would post it to see what other people thought. Also, on mobile at the moment, so I can't flair this properly.
