The pacing. Each episode is 1 hour of pure content, no fillers.
Before pressing the Play button to watch episode 3, I remember saying "I wonder how much time it will take for Jon to meet Daenerys"
I was expecting:
-
a scene of Jon and Davos preparing their horses and leaving Winterfell (Didn't expect that they will go on a boat).
-
a scene where they are resting at night and doing some random talking.
-
a scene of a servant announcing the arrival of Jon Snow in Dragonstone.
-
a scene where Tyrion and the squad will go all the way down to greet Jon Snow.
And the episode ends with Jon finally meeting Daenerys (without the talking, they will just look at each other and the episode ends)
Then I started the episode...
First scene after the intro and I was like "Ohh shit, they are already there, and Tyrion is already waiting for them at the beach."
And the meeting is already done in the first 20 mins of the episode.
It worth noting that this season will only have 7 episodes. Meaning they could've easily milk the cow and stretch the events and make it a 10 episodes season.
But no, Quality over Quantity. This is not The Walking Dead.
Thumbs up HBO.
