Mostly because of the actor. I believe David Morissey added great charm to the character.
To comic-book readers, was his governor true to the comics ? Or were they different beasts ?
Naturally , i cant stop myself from comparing him to Negan. Negan seems to have had a bigger impact on our characters, and with the number of people under his command, he seems to be a bigger boss than the governor. But there is something bugs me about the way he is written or acted that i cant put my hand onto. I find him ... how to say it without raging negan fans... cartoonish i guess ? And there is some overacting on JDM's part.
The way he moves his body all the damn time, and his speech pattern, same emphasis and tone on his deliveries over and over again as if he is singing... Δ± have no buff with What he wants to do with the character , it is just i feel like he is overdoing it. If he tones it down , like the way he did in his scenes with sasha in her cell, he can become quite menacing.
The governor imo was always menacing, i could never tell what the heck was going on his mind aside from the fact that it wasnt smt good. This may be the 100th vs thread in this forum, but im new around the community and wanted to share mine.
Who is ur preffered villain ( name a third if u want, but i remember no other biggie in the series) ?
