[SPOILERS] How the White Walkers will soundly be defeated!

As the 8th and final season approaches, many people are wondering how the armies of Westeros will defeat the White Walkers.

We all know there are 3 ways to kill White Walkers. Dragonglass, Valyrian steel, and Fire. But is there a 4th way? Yes, there is. Sound!

Sound waves of a certain frequency will shatter and destroy White Walkers. How do we know this? Because it has already been shown in Season 7 Episode 6. Jon Snow and company travel beyond the wall in order to capture a White Walker. On their journey, they encounter an isolated group of wights along with their White Walker leader. As Jon Snow slays the leading White Walker, multiple wights spontaneously disintegrate with him.

Upon their journey home, Jorah Mormont comments about how the wights suddenly died as their leader was destroyed, to which Jon Snow replied, "Maybe he was the one who turned them."

While this seems like a reasonable explanation for the wights' deaths, something else occurred at that very moment which seems to have been overlooked. Just before slaying the White Walker, Jon Snow's sword clashed with the sword of the White Walker, emitting an unusually high-pitched sound wave.

I believe it was this sound wave which killed the wights and not some connection to their leader. Why do I think this?

For starters, a connection to their leader implies some sort of field which links them together. Your typical field, such as an electromagnetic field travels at the speed of light. Assuming the White Walkers "field" behaves similar to an electromagnetic field, the wights would have disintegrated instantaneously and simultaneously. But this in not what happened. There was a small time delay and they disintegrated sequentially, one after another. This implies a slower moving force, such as that of a sound wave.

The second reason I believe this has to to do with the timing of the series. The 8th and final season is approaching, yet the war with the White Walkers has not even begun. But who cares about the White Walkers? The real battle that everyone cares about is between Cersei Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen. In order to make room for this epic battle, the White Walkers will need to be defeated quickly and easily. What simpler way to defeat the White Walkers than with sound waves, a method which will most likely be discovered within an ancient scroll read by Samwell Tarley.
