[Spoilers] I'm currently working through Game of Thrones for the first time, and I have a question about Sansa's role in S06E09.

Before the Battle of the Bastards, Sansa sat quiet while Davos, Jon, and Tormund planned their strategy for the battle the next day. Afterward, Sansa and Jon had an argument about the uneven fight, how Jon was underestimating Ramsay, and how he should have tried getting more men before fighting.

Earlier, it was shown that she had sent for the Knights of the Vale by raven without Jon's knowledge, going so far as to lie to Jon to keep it a secret.

I'm really trying to give Sansa the benefit of the doubt, but I keep thinking that she caused the majority of Jon's army, which comprised mostly of wildlings, House Mormont, and a few other minor houses to die needlessly because she couldn't (or wouldn't) speak up about the reinforcements.

It really paints Sansa in a negative light for me, especially when she chastised Jon for not waiting for more men without volunteering the information that she had summoned the Knights of the Vale, and when they came, she rode in with Littlefinger as if she was the savior in all of this.

True, she didn't hear whether or not they were coming or when, but the prospect of the Knights of the Vale helping would have greatly affected Jon's strategy, making me trust her less. Am I understanding this correctly, or did I miss something?
