Unpopular opinion: Maggie improved as a character after Glenn died

Before you downvote I beg you hear me out.

She’d been with Glenn a long time and they grew to be inseparable. After Glenn died, I was afraid Maggie may convert into a sorrowful and depressed character like Sasha did. Damn was I wrong. She developed into a strong, independent, cold-blooded leader at hilltop which really made her character far more interesting. I’ve always liked Maggie but she had never been among my favorite characters on the show; in season 8 she was hands down my favorite character due to her expansive development. That’s when I realized that this development would have most likely not occurred had Glenn lived, she would probably still lead hilltop but she wouldn’t be as imposing and menacing as she was in season 8. Im sad that Glenn died, but I’m grateful that Maggie became a more intriguing character as a result. I’m praying she can come back for season 10.
