Pulling episodes of shows

I am sure we all agree that racism is bad. Period.

But this trend of pulling episodes of shows - mostly because of blackface - is ridiculous and stupid. In vast majority of cases where is blackface used it is used in the context of "blackface is bad". If the shows has to use blackface I think that this context is fine. They are not using in to make fun of black people.

I've read comment here on /r/televeision that it will be over and most will be back after few weeks. I don't think that's true. :-(

This is (incomplete) list of pulled stuff: source: comment I found on reddit and added some stuff

  • Scrubs "My Fifteen Seconds," "My Chopped Liver," "My Jiggly Ball" episodes removed from Hulu
  • IASIP "Dee Reynold's Shaping Americas Youth" and "The Gang Makes Lethal Weapon 6" removed from FX/Hulu Season 4, Episode 3 "America's Next Top Paddy's Billboard Model Contest" Season 8, Episode 2 “The Gang Recycles Their Trash” Season 14, Episode 3 "Dee Day"
  • South Park's Super Best Friends, Episodes 200,201 removed from Hulu and main website, Cartoon Wars I&II additionally removed from HBO Max
  • Gone With the Wind pulled from HBO Max, added back with "disclaimer"
  • A Fawlty Towers episode "Don't Mention the War" pulled from BBC streaming
  • Tina Fey pulls 30 Rock episodes "Believe in the Stars," 'Christmas Attack Zone," "Live from Studio 6h," and "East Coast Live Show" from streaming, google play, and syndication
  • League of Gentlemen removed entirely from Netflix (apparently for one episode where makeup was misconstrued as blackface)
  • Little Britain, Come Fly With me pulled from Netflix, Britbox, and BBC iPlayer
  • Workaholics "To friend a predator" pulled from US streaming services
  • Simpsons, Season 3 Episode 1, “Stark Raving Dad”
  • Aqua Teen Hunger Force Season 6, episode 3 "Shake Like Me
  • Community Advanced Dungeons and Dragons
  • The Office Episode Dwight Christmas is gonna be edited

Not all of it was pulled because of blackface

Another thing. I think it's fine to use white actor for non-white character (and other way around) in animated shows. Because only thing that should matter is their ability. Of course only if they are not trying to do accent...

PS: No one is probably gonna read this or someone will delete it. Honestly I just wanted to vent... Also I feel like i have to mention I am not from US and we do not have something like blackface in my country so I don't feel the same hate for it like many of you do. BUT I AGREE BLACKFACE IN IT'S ORIGINAL CONTEXT IS BAD!
