Hello all,
I’m a (relatively) new fan of the show, I’m not finished yet and have a couple seasons to go but I’ve binged quite a lot of it and am already aware of a decent amount of spoilers, though I’m not nearly as knowledgable on the GOT universe as I’m sure many of you are.
So, in s06 x e09 when Ramsay is shooting arrows at Rickon, is Ramsay intentionally missing on the first couple of shots? It seemed like he was missing on purpose so that Rickon and Jon would get closer and closer to each other, start getting more desperate but also more hopeful, only for Ramsay to crush those hopes at the last minute by finally getting an arrow in Rickon. Also, this way, Jon actually watched Rickon die in front of him rather than from afar.
I might be reading too much into it, but that seems like something that a sadistic eye booger like Ramsay would do. The whole “go run to your brother” thing was much more ‘grand’ than it needed to be if he wanted to kill Rickon, so the idea that Ramsay would want to drag it out for his own twisted amusement is believable. It seems unlikely that Ramsay would genuinely miss the shot while Rickon was closer to him and iirc, he wasn’t even looking on the second(?) shot.
