Terriers is one of the all-time great one-season wonders

Just finished this up tonight and absolutely loved it. The chemistry between Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James is top-notch—ten minutes into the first episode, I felt like I’d already been watching them for years. It shifts effortlessly between lighthearted buddy comedy and serious drama, and always feels cohesive. The characters feel so real and lived-in; very few shows in just their first season have such an acute sense of exactly who these people are. It’s immensely entertaining, funny, and watchable, yet just as complex as any great prestige drama. If FX did a better job marketing it, I think it would’ve gotten the five-or-six-season run it deserved. At just 13 episodes, it’s a quick and easy binge, and one that stands with the very best FX has to offer. I can’t recommend it enough.
