In the recent season finale, we hear one of the crew say that all they need to do is 'stay hydrated' only to discover the bottled water is what's making them sick. Now while I understand that water will not cure antifreeze poisoning, surely it will make it easier to cope with which brings me to my question.
Why didn't they just use the taps? We know that the taps work, we know that they aren't poisoned (as shown by Morgan using them and being fine) and we know they're sanitary enough for a little girl to brush her teeth with them, so it begs the question, why didn't they use the tap water to stay hydrated, minimising the poisoning effects?
Am I missing something here? Would drinking tap water for antifreeze poisoning make the situation even worse or is this just another case of ill-thought-out storytelling by the writers?
