Winterfell – Sequence 1
- Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen arrive at Winterfell with their united army. However, it is not as time taking as in the show; it is quite brief. Drogon and Rhaegal fly over Winterfell as Sansa Stark watches in awe.
- Jon reunites with Bran and introduces Dany to Sansa. Bran tells everyone the dead have breached the wall and we need to meet in the great hall right now. Jon also reunites with ghost to his delight.
- All Northerners and Valemen are not so happy about Jon bending the knee to Dany. Lyanna Mormont, Yohn Royce, Robert Glover and all of them vehemently express their reservations.
- Tyrion and Davos step in and try to calm down the lords and ladies. They justify that they have allied for the greater good and to fight the Night King, together.
- Next moment, Bran is walked in by Maester Wolkan into the hall and says “They are right. I can see the Night King. I can see what he is about to do. He does not know who a Stark is, or a Targaryen. He is coming for all of us.” He then turns towards Dany and says – “And he has your dragon. He is one of them now”. Fear grips the great hall.
King’s Landing – Sequence 1
- Euron ferries the Golden Company aboard the Iron Fleet. There are around 10,000 sellswords and 10 huge mammoth-like armed elephants. Him and Captain Harry Strickland talk about Dany and her dragons, and the white walkers. King’s Landing is cold and foggy, even snowing a little.
- He introduces them to Queen Cersei Lannister. She thanks Strickland for their service and sends them to set their encampments. She orders Qyburn to set the Scorpions all over the city walls and moreover, put caches of wildfire throughout King’s Landing. As promised, Euron now asks for Cersei’s hand and a place in her bed. Although reluctant, she agrees and takes him in.
- While Euron is with Cersei and all of his men are in the brothels or are getting drunk, Theon along with his loyalist Ironborn ambush the crew of The Silence (Euron’s ship) at night and rescues Yara. To his utter horror, he finds that Euron has cut out Yara’s tongue. Yara initially hits him on the head but then the brother and sister reconcile. Now, they are both crippled. Yara cannot speak and Theon, well you know. So, they need each other. The rescue mission is kinda successful – a silver lining for Theon.
Riverlands – Sequence 1
- Jaime is riding somewhere in the Riverlands all alone. He does not look like an anointed knight or a Lannister Highlord. Just another soldier on a mission.
- He stops for a while and rests his horse as well. He is filling some water from the river stream but suddenly he hears a movement. He draws his sword and gets ready to fight. Out of nowhere a person spears him down on the ground. It is Bronn. They laugh it out and he helps him up.
- Jaime asks Bronn what is he doing here. Bronn tells him that his sister has turned crazy and even if either Starks/Targaryens or the dead don’t get King’s Landing, she will burn the entire city with wildfire. Bronn tells about Euron bringing her the Golden Company and she might let him "fok" her (shots fired). But Jaime does not agree, says she is pregnant. They ride together for Winterfell.
Winterfell – Sequence 2
- We return to Winterfell where Jon finally reunites with Arya. It is very emotional reunion, much more than any other Stark sibling reunion. She shows him needle and how it has been protecting her ever since. Jon is super proud of his little sister.
- Dany and Jorah meet with Sam, Gilly and baby. Sam greets her as his Queen. She is a bit nervous to tell her about the incident about her father and brother. Sam does not really care about her burning his nasty father but absolutely breaks down when he hears about his brother. A matured dialogue take place. Dany says – “I won’t ask you for forgiveness. It would not make you hate me any lesser. But we were at war. And just as your father said - There are no easy choices in war. And we need your knowledge, now, more than ever.” Sam is devastated from the inside, but tries hard to feels a bit easier.
- A couple of more short sequenced reunions like Arya and Gendry, and with the Hound take place. . They take cheeky potshots at each other. Gendry tells her he is a Baratheon bastard. We then see Bran goings towards the Godswood and he comes across Sam. Bran knows Dany told her everything. Sam still seems a devastated and Bran tells him to stay stronger and look forward to looming threat. He then asks when should we tell Jon about the truth. Bran says when the right time comes, I will tell him myself. He then moves towards the Godswood escorted by a Stark guard. Sam bumps into Jon overseeing the battlements and they too have a hearty reunion. He too tries to console Sam and tell him that he needs him more than ever now. Sam looks a bit uneasy, knowing about his friend’s true origin.
- Tyrion and Sansa also reunite and talk about their tales. They take digs at Joffrey. Sansa tells about the Boltons and Littlefinger whereas Tyrion talks about Tywin, Essos etc. They talk about Cersei sending her army for support and Sansa tellw Tyrion – “You really believed she will send her forces to support us? I believed you were the smartest man in this world.” Tyrion then tries to assure Sansa that Jaime will definitely stand by his words and bring the Lannister forces to their cause. Sansa is still not convinced. Just then Maester Wolkan interrupts and tells Sansa that the Karstarks have arrived with all of their people and the Umbers will be reaching soon.
Last Hearth – End of Episode 1
- Tormund, Beric and some other survivors from Eastwatch are riding back to Winterfell. On the way, they see a few badly injured brothers of the Nightswatch and Northerners, approaching. Edd is one of them.
- Tormund quickly helps Edd up and asks what happened. Edds tell them they were at the Last Hearth rallying with the Umbers to get to Winterfell together. But AoD attacked them and destroyed the castle. Tormund, then asks about The Umber Boy. We see a gloomy look on Edd’s face implying something catastrophic.
- In the last sequence, we see a destroyed Last Hearth with dead Umber people all over the floor. We see the wights swarming through the castle. Then we see a group of white walkers walking through the gates. Ned Umber is dead too and impaled on a spear.
- Finally, the Night King lands with Viserion and walks right through the destroyed castle. He sees over the destruction and raises all the Umber dead and Ned Umber wakes up with blue eyes. We see the AoD marching out of the Last Hearth with white walkers leading them on dead horses as Night King flies above on Viserion.
End of Episode 1.
