I just don't enjoy watching movies anymore. Every element of shows is more appealing. The writing is more deep and meaningful. The acting performances are simply masterful and can not only keep character throughout a long series but also change subtly over time for character development. The cinematography is more tasteful; artistic yet functional. When I watch movies, the plot moves too slow and too fast at the same time. While a TV episode begins and wraps itself up within an hour or less, movies can drag on for 2 to 3 hours (especially nowadays), and make me lose interest fast. And it's not even a pacing issue, it's a quality issue. 99% of movies simply don't justify the ridiculous feature length runtime. You have the occasional outliers like Kubrick, Tarantino, Aster, Pixar and Ghibli that manage to make a 2 to 3 hour story engaging from beginning to end but again, 99% of the time the movie is so bloated and unengaging I'd much rather watch a few episodes of a TV show. Movies are just less rewarding. The cinematography and camerawork is another issue. Movies tend to be way overly indulgent with their camerawork. If they put half the focus they put in the cinematography into the acting and writing, movies would be a more enjoyable experience.
A good show is just more worthwhile than nearly any movie.
